Good-tasting barbecue ribs and corned beef. Generous portions. Appreciate their two seating areas, one for the bar and one more restaurant-like. Good sauces, sweet and spicy. Pic is after eating a couple of ribs... This was a half rack.

This was my 1st time visiting this establishment & I was honestly not impressed at all. I ordered a BBQ Pork Steak Dinner which came w/ Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, & Potato Salad. The Pork Steak was so-so, it had alot of fat & griddle & not alot of meat. The BBQ sauce I couldn't tell if it was tangy from too much vinegar or if it was pepper?? The Potato Salad was edible, but veggies needed to be cut up a lil' smaller. The Cole Slaw was not creamy at all, extremely dry, but very crunchy. I ordered a extra order of Baked Beans which I was somewhat disappointed with as they had too much molasses in them which gave them a very strong, bitter, almost peppery taste. Maybe less molasses & a lil' more Brown Sugar?? I also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese which was honestly the worst I have ever had!!, as it was extremely dry & gummy . The best thing that I ordered out of my whole order was actually my dessert which was a Brownie w/ Vanilla Ice Cream. It was actually outstanding & worth ordering again & maybe even ordering extra . My Mother ordered Potato Pancakes which she was not impressed with, an order of Baked Beans which she felt the same way as me about, & a Wedge Salad which she said was Ok. She also ordered a slice of Apple Pie for dessert which she was very disappointed with as it was not cooked all the way through. The apples were not cooked completely & there was alot of the core throughout the pie & to make things worse, the pie dough was extremely doughy & uncooked . Our total bill was about $65 maybe a lil' more including tip. Not sure I would try this establishment again. It seems like they may cater to Sports Bar food appetizers like Wings etc.. & Alcohol & not true Dinner menu items?? I would've been better off going to "Hendricks" for around the same price....
Food was good, got here for a quick happy hour... honestly the food was way better than expected!. Chicken wings, quesadillas, fries and fried raviolis. Everything was good, service, no complains... looks like a fun place to come and watch some games!
My family and I have eaten here about five times while visiting my children who attend a nearby university. The atmosphere is sports bar with the specialty being bbq pork and chicken. My favorite is their fish sandwich here personally and have them add some cheese to it and I get my mayo on the side. The service is excellent and the food very good while the prices are average overall. They have been pretty consistent on every visit in all three of these categories. That is why I give a four star review. This IS one of the few places near the college that we have eaten at more than once which says something about how we feel about them.
The food is very good and unlike many sports bars, there are multiple items on the menu that are great. Unfortunately, the service is mediocre and seems rushed. The atmosphere is okay; it seems like it tries to be an upscale sports bar, but misses on both the sports bar feel and upscale bar feel. Overall Lester's is an above average experience at best, but it's not some place you would take guests from out of town or insist that you go to.
Great resturant. Had a delicious cheese burger and fries. Service excellent. Will go back again. If you're a sports fanatic, there are more TV's than I could count.
Excellent atmosphere for lunch meeting. Had the chopped salad, it was different in a very good way. I enjoyed very much. Recommend this for lunch and dinner.
Awesome place to come too! Great for family and friends. I got this salad to go and it's seriously the best salad I've ever had! It's the BBQ salad with beef brisket on it, it's to die for! I can't wait until I'm back in town to order this again! So satisfying for a salad!
Our server, Mary D, was fabulous! That compensated somewhat for being completely ignored for a couple minutes when we first walked in to the empty lobby by someone who appeared to be a manager and a hostess or server.
I only got iced tea and dessert at the meeting here today. However, the gooey butter cake is absolutely delicious!! It's made on site, and the temperature mimics having just come out of the oven. Those crisp, delicate edges are the best! The raspberry sauce is perfect, but this sweet tooth wishes it weren't being rationed lol. I'd like 3X as much!
Great food and great service. The pretzels are amazing with the cheese sauce. The buffalo wings were perfect, just the right amount of heat and served hot and fresh.
I been going here for years... I think they need to revamp the menu. It seems like it needs a refresh to me... Also, when baseball game is on... It's on every TV... Like there aren't any other sports playing at the time. Some like other sports more then baseball, some only like baseball. Point is, there's a variety and you should provide variety... Food is ok, used to be better. For instance, turkey burger... Used to be really good. Now it's very bland and kind of watery when it comes out.
Nice looking sports bar, good atmosphere. I know it's been there a long time and is kind of a staple around that area. But I probably won't go back.
I got a veggie wrap, which was pretty small and bland. Tiny side of potato salad and like half a pickle. Just not much to brag about.
And service was terrible - maybe they were busy and understaffed on a Saturday, but our server just kind of left us there for like twenty minutes. She kept forgetting things, like bringing my friend a water, but not me, and didn't even give us separate checks - like the tabs were separated on the same check and we had to put our credit cards in the bill a certain way and just hope she got it right.
Nice enough. Very noisy. Not a ton of character, but it's a sports bar so what do you expect? Lots of room, and the staff handle groups well. Food was adequate. Not bad, but nothing impressive either.
Lester's is a local favorite. The staff for the most part is very friendly and helpful. The food is typical bar and grill fare but with some more fine dining touches which absolutely enhances the dishes, and the price. My only real complaint is I feel it is a bit overpriced for what you're getting but all-in all a great local Ladue spot, totally reccomend.
Cane in on a relatively slow Sunday evening. My draft beer was warm and my brisket sandwich and fries were cold. Food took a long time to come out. The waitress also told me to pick 2 sides with my sandwich and never mentioned that there was an extra charge for the two sides that I picked (they weren't identified as "premium" or anything on the menu). Group next to us was SCREAMING at the television and the staff said nothing to them. Good mac and cheese though.
Food was great... Service was just a bit slow. Unfortunately based off of what I have experienced.. I will have to give Lester's a 2 star rating. I hope my rating can warm other customers about what to expect. Disappointment is running through my mind. Please fix this problem immediately.
Me and my lifelong friends meet there every Jan 1st we what football eat BBQ or a huge N.Y. Deli sandwich we spend hours catching up and enjoying the excellent food the sevice has always been great
Would have gave it a 5 star but going for happy hour we was ignored on the bar side. Moved to the dining room side just to get service. The food was ok but they tried to give guacamole that was over ripen and brown. In the end they did try to accommodate but it should have been more.
