Our History
The Leesville Fire Department was established in 1923 as a volunteer organization. Over the years, it has grown into a full-time professional department with highly trained firefighters and modern equipment. Today, we have three fire stations strategically located throughout the city to ensure quick response times.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of our community. Our primary focus is on fire prevention and suppression, but we also provide emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, technical rescue operations, and public education programs.
Fire Prevention: We believe that prevention is key when it comes to fires. That's why we offer free home safety inspections for residents who want to make sure their homes are safe from potential hazards. We also conduct regular inspections of commercial buildings to ensure compliance with local fire codes.
Fire Suppression: When fires do occur, our firefighters are ready 24/7 to respond quickly and efficiently. We use state-of-the-art equipment such as aerial ladder trucks, pumper trucks, rescue vehicles equipped with extrication tools for vehicle accidents or other emergencies.
Emergency Medical Services: In addition to firefighting duties; all members are trained EMTs or Paramedics which allows us provide advanced life support care on scene before transporting patients by ambulance or helicopter if needed.
Hazardous Materials Response: Our team is trained in handling hazardous materials incidents such as chemical spills or gas leaks that may pose danger for public health & safety.
Technical Rescue Operations: Our team has specialized training in technical rescues such as confined space rescue (for example underground pipes), rope rescues (for example cliffside), swift water rescues (for example during floods) etc., which require special skills & equipment beyond normal firefighting duties.

Our Team

Our Equipment
We use only state-of-the-art equipment that meets or exceeds national standards set by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This includes modern firefighting apparatus like pumper trucks equipped with foam systems capable extinguishing large scale fires quickly while minimizing damage caused by water usage during extinguishment process!
In addition; we have specialized vehicles like aerial ladder truck used for reaching tall buildings up-to six stories high allowing us access rooftops where people may be trapped due smoke inhalation etc., heavy-duty rescue vehicles equipped extrication tools used freeing people trapped inside cars after accidents etc., hazmat response trailers containing necessary gear required handling dangerous chemicals safely without causing harm anyone nearby!
