Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort Reviews

5 stars! Stayed with family, got connecting room. Very nice comfortable beds and pillows. Good sized bathroom (water pressure wasn't that great, please do something).
Pools were huge. Ping pong table was a bonus.
The Italian restaurant was great. (A bit less portion).
Breakfast was amazing with very wide varieties of food.
Applause for the nice and friendly staffs. They were great and very friendly. Will book again in a month or two.

The hotel is on the beach, the weather is good, the view is good until you have to come again, think Beautiful white sand beach, sky water, sunbathing, feeling very chill breeze, but on the second round, there is a storm The water is turbid according to the order. Water activities cannot be played.

There is an evening bar at the beach. Sit and watch the beautiful sunset, inexpensive, and in the morning there will be water activities to play, delicious food, very spacious room.

But there is one thing criticism. Breakfast at omelette zone
Potatoes have a lot of problems, sleep 3 nights. The first day is sticky and dry. On the second the executive chef looks down, there is no problem. The third day, the middle is still hard, not well ripe. Confused why this is like this

The reopened Le Meridien is unfortunately total chaos.
The entire staff is extremely poorly trained or not trained at all. The receptionist confuses all kinds of cases, gives false statements or no statements at all and literally cheats their way from day to day.
Wrong statements by the front desk will then only be excused with an apology in favor of the hotel. No acceptable solution for the guest is found or is only sought.

The buffet restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was overcrowded and extremely poorly coordinated even when the room occupancy was low. The food is ok but by no means stands out.

The drinks and the ice cream at the pool are not in proportion to the price ( 5 for a scoop converted), so extreme extra costs are due again.

Sports courses don't take place on time, you have to run after the coaches. the lessons themselves are also not recommended, the trainers seem trained but not trained.

The hotel building in general is very large and cool, reminiscent of a barracks.
Unfortunately, the rooms smell of a wet cellar.

All in all, the service does not correspond to any usual Meridien chain.
The biggest disappointment is the poorly trained receptionist.
There are certainly in the vicinity of professional hotels, whether chains or small and cozy.
We therefore definitely do not recommend the Le Meridien.

Beautiful, large, wide and very clean. Sticking only, order poisoning, but burns a lot. And the food taste is still average if compared to other 5 star hotels.

A Very good solution, for those who decide to stay in this area. Rooms are clean and tidy, house keeping work are prefect. Hotel is just opened, pool area are nice to spend time, the beach are also good with pleasant service. Food need to be improved for sure: breakfast has small variety, we didn't use it. They have nice pizza area but hiden from the gests, and no any promotion at all, if no one tell you , for sure it will be missed - no even offered in room service, it's strange. But be carefull Chief works only after 6pm and till 11 at morninng, also strange, so if you are at the pool or beach your kids will never try it :-(. That's a pity as for Thai region taste are really good. Also they have a good range of facilities GYM are good, kayaking, paddle board, bikes - for sure you need to be used to look thru area nearby, it gives you freedom and experience of local touch (villages, cafe, beaches and so on) Kids area are a little bit poor, but team in kids club are making this disadvantage to be forgiven. At the reception you do not feel personal understanding seems they are not able to make any solution and works under strictly procedures, also disappointed with this. But in general we caught a lot of positive during our stay , thx a lot to the team. It would be good to have GM cocktail in order to engage with guests, hear the feedback and upsell services. F&B the weakest part, we have to use alternatives.

The facilities are absolutely fantastic, 5 stars. The pools are very nice, the gym has the equipment you need for a workout, it has access to a beautiful beach, rooms are clean, big and the bed is so comfortable. Breakfast buffet is also very good and tasty.

Unfortunately the service is average to say the least. Staff is very friendly and tries really hard but seems to be untrained. It is very difficult to get simple things done like checking in and out which took ages for some reason. Ordering food is a challenge and food takes ages to get prepared (we waited more than an hour to have 2 pizzas and the restaurant was fairly empty). The pool area is messy with towels everywhere and food leftovers on the tables but nobody seems to care, nobody tidies up. There are not enough sun-beds and umbrellas for all the guests which led some awkward moments. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel.

I just checked out from Le Meridien Khao Lak and I couldn't have been happier. The resort is gorgeous, the grounds are impeccably kept and everything is kept clean and fresh (even during a monsoon). We stayed for 7 days in a pool villa and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the trip. For simplicity sake, we booked airport transfers through the hotel, both ways (no grab in Khao Lak) which was easy, prompt and the drivers were both friendly. We were welcomed to the hotel by Bo, the manager I had emailed with and she showed us around and got us settled. We choose this resort due to the all inclusive package they offer, not normally my preference but they do it very well, drinks and food were all delightful, all reasonable requests honored with graciousness. Previous reviews mentioned that using all inclusive packages was tricky but we never encountered a challenge. We also booked a romantic dinner on the beach through Jay, who went out of his way to help us plan, they crafted a special menu to accommodate a shellfish allergy which was fantastic. Throughout the whole stay, we found all of the staff friendly and helpful, housekeeping kept the coffee well stocked and the room looking perfect.

All in all, this was one of the most relaxing stress free vacations I've ever taken which is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you everyone at Le Meridien Khao Lak, we will be back!

As far as I can see, the parking lot is not much. Not sure if there are other zones in front of the hotel?

Yes, I give the 5 trotz despite all the reviews! It is a little "barracks", but the comfort is really there. I am also a bit older and there are a lot of children walking around and screaming at breakfast, clearly the parents are responsible for how they raise them. The resort has nothing to do with Thai flair, that's right, could be anywhere in the world, but many tourists who are not "in love" with Thai style could not care. After dusk you can see that the good "light designers" had. My personal opinion: in the "old" Le Meridien today "Robinson Club" I liked it a little bit better !.

Beautiful Thai resort opened three weeks prior to our stay. A few issues to sort out before it reaches genuine 5 star.

This hotel's motto "birds" is lovely and the on-site watering and feeding stations are a good idea. Another positive thing to note is that the water in the rooms is served in reusable glass bottles.

But this hotel is like a barracks and the rooms have the charm of a youth hostel. Long, loveless concrete corridors in which the heat stands because nobody opens the window.

The rooms are sober, careless and bare. Small balcony without a lounger to retreat to. But equipped with an overdrafted shower. The charm of Thailand is missing. Housekeeping is very good, helpful and the rooms very clean. The comforters and bedding are also Marriott quality, which I really appreciate.

The newly opened Le Meridien was previously the Merlin Hotel and was only slightly renovated. The pool landscape is reminiscent of the 80s. Children enjoy the many different pools.

The breakfast is very good, varied and the cappuccino was great. However, the breakfast tables should urgently be cleaned properly. I love the cheeky little sparrows that try to steal something. However, in a 5 star hotel, the outdoor tables should be cleaned of bird droppings. I pointed it out 2 times and had the table wiped. This was typically not carried over to the neighboring tables.

The tastes are different, but I cannot understand the positive reviews and have known many different hotels in Phuket and Khao Lak in recent years. Le Meridien offers many different activities, including in sports and for children. Personally, I don't need entertainment on vacation.

Cockroaches can be found everywhere and you shouldn't be so petty in Asia. But I don't find it tingling when these obviously enter the room through the ventilation slots of the air conditioning.

There are countless corals on the beach (Coralbeach), this makes the beach incredibly interesting, as you can always discover something new. The disadvantage, when you go into the water, you have to balance over the remains. Therefore, it makes sense to take swimming shoes with you.

The beach is unique. In order to preserve this beauty, I ask you not to come back empty-handed, but to pick up some plastic waste. Unfortunately to be found everywhere now. I also do not consider the evening beach torches to be ecologically justifiable. Our tourism has advantages and disadvantages, but if everyone throws away some plastic and observes a few things, this paradise can perhaps be preserved. I consider the role model function to be very important, as the Thais have so far lacked the sensitivity for it.

I also wish that the bed linen and towels are not constantly changed, especially not when they are properly hung. This is ecological madness.

There are far too few shady spots on the beach, as well as at the pool. One is boiled on the concrete slabs. Although the hotel is only about 2/3 full, the loungers on the beach are very tight. The water quality in the sea is fantastic.

But it is obviously forbidden to look for a shady spot under the few large shrubs in the garden. The beach staff is lethargic and dumb. They don't even dare to put one of these heavy, wooden loungers in the shade and prefer to let the guests haul them themselves.

You have to be aware that Khao Lak is half an hour and Bang Niang 20 minutes. There is a free shuttle service that starts at 8 p.m. goes back the last time and is an imposition. While waiting for the rest of the guests, the driver lets the diesel engine run for a quarter of an hour. As usual in southern countries, so that the air conditioning continues to run. But this is an open flatbed truck and the smell of exhaust gas makes you sick in the stifling heat.

CONCLUSION: This hotel is completely overrated and has absolutely no 5 star level of the Marriott chain.

Just been in this 5 star hotel everything is amazing and stuff are very friendly and helpful definitely recommended

Very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and are conversant in English. There are so many nice pools to choose from. The beach is so beautiful with its white sand and there is a breakwater so there is always a beach to walk on even at high tide. Food in the restaurants are great - we had the american/thai breakfast buffet, the international dinner buffet and the italian pizzaria - all worth you money Overall, 5 stars

We stayed here for 5 nights using the Luxury Escapes package. Myself and my wife had an amazing time. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Staff were super friendly. Reception team were awesome too. Pools were clean all the time.
We will certainly be going back in the future!

The hotel is relatively far out, which is not a problem, since you get everything you need locally. A few meters from the hotel there is a great bar (Happy Beach) with delicious food.

We had a very nice stay here. The hotel is very nice and the rooms with their own pool are really great. The breakfast buffet had a lot to offer and the staff is very friendly and warm. The hotel has a shuttle bus that took guests to Khao Lak and Bang Niang Market for free and picked them up again. The hotel also offers a transfer to the airport and picks up guests there.
On the beach there were many nice restaurants and Thai massage, the Thai massage in the hotel is very recommendable, the ladies are really professional and you could relax very well. We would love to come back.

This really is a fantastic hotel. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The 3 pools and the beach located on site are superb. Choice of restaurants and variety located on site is good. Overall, one of the best stays I have ever had. Plenty daily activities on offer for the children and even adults. Shuttle bus service available. It's a great getaway hotel.

The rooms and services in the hotel section are good. But the restaurant on the seafront The taste is not good at all. The dish we eat shrimp is not cooked. The employee's face seems skeptical. When two more slices were cut, they were both unripe. Pizza is not good at all, soft crust.

The Le Meridien Khao Lak is top notch experience in every aspect. Granted it s brand new (October 2019), but it s well worth staying here. I am not one to typically write reviews, but the hospitality of the staff here, the property itself, the amazing food in the restaurants, to the awesome pools (massive) and beach make this resort hotel 5 Stars. Property offers a very affordable shuttle that departs multiple times per day, if you want to leave the resort to go to local markets (2 locations). I m a Titanium Elite (blah blah - had to look it up), which means I ve stayed at a lot of Marriott properties over the years and I wish more properties were managed with this level of attention to detail. Well done. Highly recommended.

Le Meridien at Khao Lak is just amazing! From start to finish even in these bizarre Covid times where many hotels are working with reduced staff and quality is reduced.

This is NOT the case in Le Meridien Khao Lak! The occupancy is obviously lower but the staff does everything possible to make the stay as enjoyable as before.

We had contact with the hotel and some Managers a long time before our stay regarding a surprise for my partner's birthday. Everything was super arranged as agreed balloons - birthday cake - ... thanks!

Check-in is smooth and fast, you get all the explanations you need to know. We decided to eat at the hotel in the evening and it was pretty okay. The chicken ceasar wrap is a little disappointing and there is little sauce. The breakfast on the other hand is GREAT! Lots of choice even in these bizarre times. It's been different at other 5* hotels we have been last months. Even though the occupancy is low there is a breakfast buffet every day = super!

The afternoon tea is super nice and it is also delicious, highly recommended.

I really have no complaints about this hotel, it's just great and everything is arranged to perfection.

If I may mention one thing it is very unfortunate that if you are a couple or family and want a massage there is only one masseur / spa staff available. So you can't enjoy a massage together at the same time and you have to be massaged after each other which is a pity and a waste of time. I understand that there is less staff present but this might still be a working point.

I would like to thank Khun Pai and Khun Gift again for the effort they have made for us, absolutely great! Thank you both very much.

Just a great hotel for holidays. I recommend taking just breakfast and try the restaurants nearby to taste the real Thai food on the beach. If you don't like that much sun I highly recommend taking the rooms with south-west side windows to enjoy the whole day outside the room. The best option is the room with the access to the swimming pool on the first floor (BEn: ground floor). The food was really tasty, I enjoyed the fresh juices and Thai omelette the most. There was always something for everyone (diabetes, vegetarians, vegans, meat lovers, etc.). The staff was really helpful and friendly, they were doing their jobs with a smile. My stay here was awesome, and I'm doing this often but I want to come back sooner or later. :)

Le Meridien has recently reopened after closing for Covid. Although not all facilities are functioning yet it is working so hard to make sure guests are fully cared for. The staff are a joy. A limited range of food is available but further restaurants are opening this weekend. Le Meridien is a gorgeous resort with expansive pools and access straight on the beach. Spa, kids club and gym are functioning normally. Breakfast is fresh and varied. The rooms are big and airy and very new and well appointed. The beds are extremely comfortable. I have really enjoyed my stay. Its a perfect place for a restful beach holiday. Thanks to Toni, Nadear and the team for looking after us. Youll see me again.

A great hotel in a quite area with well done architecture and interiors. The beach side is beautiful and very relaxing with a close by restaurant and coffee varieties. The hotel provides as well a spacious indoor restaurant and a big sports bar. All in all a very good hotel with internationally oriented staff.

Seems to be a lack of communication between staff, a lot of checking to see if you can have this or that item on the menu, (Beach grill mainly)

Check in area is very noisy with a band playing at the time we arrived, could hardly hear what was being said by receptionist. Reception needs air conditioning, after a long flight and trip from airport.
Staff were very keen to help but some had no idea of what we needed., asked for coffee whitener and got toilet paper ??
A "5" star hotel should have staff that ask you if you would like coffee tea etc when seated at your table, not having the to guest ask. at times not enough staff in breakfast restaurant.
Food was generally good except for red meats which were undercooked, I mean blood from the steak and lamb roasts (Sunday roast night}. We did mention this to the food and beverage manager. Steaks were generally a little tough and fatty.
We understand that the hotel has only recently opened however more training is needed for local staff who wanted to do the right thing but either lacked experience or did not understand guest requests.
We have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and have had better service, but in saying this acknowledge the growing pains of a new resort.
The resort layout is very good and to balance this review we did enjoy the stay despite the above constructive comments.
Maybe back next year, all the best to all staff and management for the future.

What an amazing resort! My husband and I could not be happier. We got the all inclusive package and are struggling to eat at every meal. They have buffets, pizza, traditional Thai food and much more. The beach here is quiet and not too crowded and the spa is amazing. I ve spent most of my time and money visiting the spa to get massages. I would come back here in the future.

The room was clean, the pool was clean, and the whole was satisfactory, but the rice at the Italian restaurant was terribly bad. Both Thai and Western food tasted awkward, but the price was similar to that of a Bangkok restaurant, so it was ridiculous.
Even the dinner buffet at the hotel restaurant wasn't worth it.
It's about 850 baht per person, but the quality was 400 baht and there weren't many types of food, so I didn't know what to eat.
There aren't many restaurants nearby and it's only accessible by car, so I booked the most expensive resort to enjoy a satisfying meal and vacation in the resort. Isn't it too conscientious to operate with this quality?
Next time I come to Khao Lak, I won t use it here.
