Very pleasant overnight stay. Short covered walk to the airport makes early flying very easy and convenient

The hotel is well located and the interior is elegant and comfortable. All of the staff were pleasant and efficient. We checked out very early and that was when the proximity to the terminal was especially convenient.
Check in was a bit slow as only two staff were helping guests, they should have opened another point to clear the queue.
Unfortunately one pillow was very large and the other was hard so one wasn't enough for comfort and two was too many which resulted in a not so comfortable bed, hence the lower score since a good sleep is paramount. I wish hotels would provide softer pillows! :(

This is the best hotel when flying from Gatwick as they also look after our car for an additional charge. Rooms are always comfortable and spotlessly clean. As I am unable to walk far they book a wheelchair to take me to the check in.

Staff are very well trained and courteous. They have a covered walkway into the airport so you never need to get wet.

First impression is a very clean clutter free and welcoming, staff very efficient and courteous and well presented.
The facilities are more than adequate considering most people would only be staying for one night.
A variety of places to eat/drink but to be honest we had room service and that was very good indeed.
8th floor room has fantastic views over the runway.
Only gripe about the room was it's getting tired, most noticeable and glaring was the table in the room had been poorly and quickly repaired using, of all things, some screws that you fix a number plate to your car with, that's not a great repair at all, come on, how much is a table in the grand scheme of things?
In the morning a very good early continental breakfast is served before 6 which is very good indeed, in my eyes you don't need a heavy breakfast before flying so this was excellent.
And then a two minute walk along the connecting walkway and your there, simplicity in its self.

Quiet for an airport hotel, clean and good breakfast. Wifi is ok except heavy streaming.

Reception was good, and helpful. Particularly finding a cot for our baby. Check in was smooth and quick. The room itself was quite small and awkwardly shaped (it was in a corner) and the whole room, including bathroom looked rather dated and could do with a makeover. Personally I'd have preferred a nice separate shower rather than a shower in a bath. I also think a 4 star hotel could have had some biscuits on the coffee/tea tray. Though it was nice to find some free mineral water in the fridge. Room was quiet and clean. The bed was too hard for me, but that is personal taste. Overall, I think that airport hotels are an opportunity for a chain like Sofitel to attract new customers to their chain. Having stayed here, I wouldn't go out of my way to find a Sofitel to stay in in the future, though I would like to thank the helpful staff.

Ate an evening meal here, prior to our flight, easy to book lovely food, attentive staff. Busy and a little noisy as you'd expect, expensive but as good a va ue for money as you'll get at the airport

Best position hotel at Gatwick if it's the terminal you need. Just down the adjoining tunnel and you are there to check in in a few minutes. Great if it's an early morning flight and it's cold! Staff were very friendly, room spotless and bed very comfortable. Although I had a great view from my room of the planes on the runway I couldn't hear a thing. Well worth the stay especially if it's your terminal.

5th floor room, immaculate, totally sound proof I didn't hear a single plane! A two minute walk to the terminal. Will be using again in the future!

A great option for Gatwick North Terminal it's located opposite and its a comfortable and clean hotel to spend a night or two. Food is expensive but excellent quality and 2 mins walk from Gatwick.

Room was clean and comfortable and having bottled water to drink was good.

From the moment we pulled up outside the hotel we were made to feel important and the welcome was superb. Reception were most helpful and although we had to wait for our room were were given free drinks and the receptionist then came and found us for our room keys. Our luggage was secured at reception for us to go through to the airport later that evening for check-in. A truly superb experience all round with friendly, efficient and effective staffing.

travelling with my 3 year old grandson! Needed to drop car, arrive evening, quiet room, good breakfast - and be able to walk across to terminal. Sofitel is not cheap - but very fair value.

Both my husband & I couldn't fault our stay at the Sofitel, especially as we were upgraded.
My sister suggested I go to the Sofitel, saying the beds were so comfortable & she was right.
We will certainly stay there next time we need an overnight stay while at Gatwick airport.
The staff were very friendly,especially Daniel, the Portuguese man.

A good stopover before our flight. Brasserie meal good (7:30pm) except waiting 20 minutes for first address by a waiter.

Essential overnight stay for a morning flight. My first choice every time. The Vanda restaurant in the hotel is also a 'must

This hotel is dated and starting to fray around the edges. Don't have any rooms that look out over the Premier inn because all you can hear all day and night is the shuttle train. Here and there duck tape covers the torn hallway carpets. Kettle and tea / coffee provided but no UHT or fresh milk. Staff were nice and friendly with good food. Sadly poor value for your money.

Staff in there are nice and friendly, however, the interior design there is old, time to renovate. Breakfast they serve is buffet style, numerous choices offered there and the staff are all friendly.
The hotel itself is just adjacent to the North terminal and the monorail station to south terminal, very convenient indeed.

A wonderful overnight stay before we go to Disney. The hotel is plush and beautifully presented. Our evening meal at the Urban Cafe was well presented and tasty. Well worth staying here again. Highly recommended Hotel Sofitel.

This was our first time staying at the Sofitel, and found the whole experience was excellent. The room was very clean, well sized and the bed was very comfortable. If i had to pick a fault i would have to say that it took me a while to find the milk for the kettle, only to find there was only enough for 1 cup each, so i had to go on a milk hunt. I had also requested a runway side room for us, and although that wasnt provided it wasn't too much of an issue. The staff were excellent, both at check in and check out.

Really pleasant. Parking was confusing and could be better explained in the documentation. It is also a little cheeky putting the service charge on the bills in restaurants, if I want to tip I will, I don't need you to tell me.

That's aside check in and out smooth, though there were some huge queues at other times I was glad I wasn't in.

Location outstanding for the north terminal.

The lifts are also brilliant, our son loved them.

What a great hotel, parking was easy we're parked stayed and flow early so close to north terminal creating reception was amazing presentations and a very warm welcome and not rushed. Food lovely be prepared to pay a little more for the quality, the rooms are very comfortable high quality standard and very quiet I would do this again value for money for the peace of mind of flying.

Great place for a meal. Lovely food and great service. This restaurant is part of the Sofitel Hotel complex at Gatwick airport. Despite that its top rate and can not fault it. Always eat here when at the Airport.

Place looked good. Air con in room didn't work. Reception said it was. It was stifling hot in the room. Very, very uncomfortable.

Tried to check me in as someone else and they didn't even notice with my ID until I told them.

The restaurant la brasserie was god damn awful. Staff favouring certain tables, crockery with lipstick, terrible attitudes, had no idea what drinks they had. Supervisor hiding from everyone, just absolutely terrible and ruined my friends birthday.

So disappointed and will not return to this hotel.

Relaxing stay before early morning long-haul flight. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Room was comfortable and clean.

Staff from front desk, restaurant to house-keeper are all very polite. Room is clean and spacious. Food in restaurant is of high standard. The only 1 thing is mattress is too soft. I can hardly fall asleep and had bad backache after the sleep.

Save your money and book the Premier Inn instead, very average room, food and drink prices laughable.

Nice place to stay you can also check your luggage in the night before with just a 10 minute walk under cover to do so win win in my eyes.

I was here using the conference rooms for a work event. The staff were very good, however we did suffer from technical difficulties with their equipment throughout the day. The meeting room was well appointed. Catering was good. Sign posting from the airport terminal building leaves something to be desired.

It was what i have come to expect. Comfortable, with the staff being efficient and courteous.

Although staff were quick to apologize and addressed issues with little delay, I was underwhelmed: we arrived at 1am and reservations had not installed a bed for our 7 year old, even though it had been confirmed in writing. Also, the room was tired, sink half blocked, musty smell in the corridor. I used to be a platinum card holder with Sofitel/accord. Standards have clearly slipped. One positive: the duty manager was very apologetic and offered us a takeaway continental breakfast .. we left the hotel at 03:45 and it as ready.

This is a very good hotel, not only for the convenience but also the price/quality.

The bars and restaurants are good if a little pricey (London pricing) and the selection of drinks is huge!

An oasis is hardly an adequate description for this airport linked jewel. The food in the brasserie is really exceptional and the joy of fresh Sussex fish cooked as you wanted something like the meal to be favoured. Good knowledgeable service completes the package. Gluten free options for my partner too. Only one gripe time to be better stocked with non alcoholic drinks, elderflower cordial, would help the default mixers or cranberry juice doesn't really match the rest of the experience

Great place to stay before you fly, so convenient and very nice.

The room was with lounge access. Decent view towards the terminal. Room was modern, fresh, and spacious. Large window for the view, little noise from outside. Climate controlled and black out curtains. Bed was soft and warm. Lounge has a spectacular view of the airport. The coffee is good and most food as well. However, the breakfast offering is a bit light, Continental at best. The staff was welcoming and more than happy to help.

Even though we arrived late in the evening, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was a great start to the next day even though it was 6am!

We enjoyed very much coming back to Sofitel and seeing again our favorite concierge employee, the gentleman from Portugal. We enjoyed very much Sofitel a few years ago, so we decided to book it again.
The service was great and the breakfast excellent. The hotel was not as children friendly as the Novotels we travel to, where our son always finds some toys or fun soaps in the room. However, thanks to the concierge, he received a very nice pirate playset.
The wifi would be the only complaint, because it is very slow.

I love this place for the convenience and the service. The hotel is very clean very nice. Te french restaurant is very good but expect to pay.

A good meal at the oriental restaurant, a good nights sleep and easy parking meant a refreshed start to the day and the long flight.

Pretty average hotel with dated rooms, not quite even Premier Inn standard but are very clean. Good choice of places to eat (advisable to book) Staff all friendly and helpful. Given the location I'd stay again if needed.
