An expansive trail system of over 18 miles which takes you through several different experiences. Visit the canyon floor and the springs there, the Colorado River, and feel the pine needles under your shoes. Well maintained and great signage. Plenty of opportunities at the learning center to discover more about the region and some trails are accessible by horse as well.

I stopped here to walk a couple trails after sitting in the car too long. They're pretty easy and well labeled trails. Most TX parks aren't too bad because they aren't mountainous. There's water fountains up at the front if you forgot your water. Bring bug spray if you plan ahead. Tons of wasps.

N the last 10 years I've lived 10 miles from this place. I drive by almost every day and never once did I go. I have been missing out for so long. It was such an amazing nature walk through the trails. If you have not been you really need to go. But, be sure your up for the walk and watch for snakes. I wouldn't go after the rain unless you have some good rain boots.

We chose McKinney Roughs for our wedding and reception, and we couldn't be more pleased!! The staff was extremely friendly, responsive, and accommodating. The park itself was beautiful beyond belief, and everything was so clean and well maintained, it felt like a resort! We have nothing but the highest praise for the staff who assisted us from the moment we arrived to review the park, to the evening we wrapped up the reception. I can't thank the team at McKinney Roughs enough for everything. It was just awesome!

Nice park. Some of the trails are neglected but there are some good inclines and beautiful views. Unpaved mud and gravel. The main park has a few buildings in front that area undergoing some construction or updates.

Great place for a hike or trail run. If / when i go again I will spray myself with bug spray. And watch out for spider webs that stretch across the trails! Very quiet, peaceful and beautiful.

One of my favorite things about the park... is that it s always clean! It s hard to enjoy the good hike or run if the trails have trash. All and all... all the facilities are clean and well kept. One other awesome bonus is the wildlife. I went off for a 18 mile run this weekend and had the luxury of running with a few white tail dear.

headed out of houston to the nearby hyatt lost pines and came over here every day for three days to hike with my dog. 1) the woman working the visitor center was beyond friendly and helpful finding the right trails (as my schedule allowed) 2) the trails are well designed 3) the signage on the trails was perfect 4) the view on the bluff (80 feet high) was amazing. while taking a water break saw some longhorn and other cattle wander into the colorado for a dip and drink while a lone hawk circled. thank you lcra for the hard work to preserve this area. i will be back.

I held my wedding here and cannot say enough positive things about Jheri and the other staff at the park. This park is beautiful and was a gorgeous setting for my event. Jheri was easy to work with and happily answered all my questions throughout the planning process. I definitely plan to visit the park again soon to spend more time enjoying the scenery because it is a piece of paradise.

HORSEFLIES!!!!!!!!! They are everywhere. I love that equestrians can park at the HQ, but the horseflies are unrelenting and will ruin a ride. We even practically bathed in fly spray... didn't help.

Great park with lots of trails that cover a host of different terrains plus the river! The visitor's center is one the nicest I've even been to and had the absolute most helpful employees! Very lovely area, will definitely be back

We love getting out into green spaces. This one is close by and has plenty of trails. Bring a picnic, enjoy bird watching. Pop into the nature and science center to peruse their dioramas, wet and dry specimens and flip through their library. It's $5 for adults if you don't have a membership. O think kids 5 and under are free. They also rent out rooms or buildings for events. Really beautiful space. #nature #exploreoutside #shaded #daytrip

Nice place for a shaded walk in wooded area and along Texas Colorado River bank. But still a little muddy (in lower aress along the riverbanks) from recent rains. I could walk there from where I was and explore for free.

McKinney Roughs is one of my favorite places to go hiking. I have been there dozens of times with my dog and fiance, however when I went this past weekend August 10, 2014 the horse flies were OUT OF CONTROL. I got bitten by swarms of horse More

Some trails were closed without signs at the start. We still went on them but nothing special but we had some time to kill on our road trip so we stopped for an hour, Riverside trail took about 45 mins back and forth but we walked at a NewYorkers pace.

Love this place! We rented one of their halls for a birthday party PLUS we rented out their sleeping quarters for 30 people. It was great at nighttime as you feel you are in the middle of nowhere and do no have to worry about neighbors complaining. We had a blast and would return!

I walked around with an adoptable dog from Austin Pets Aive and did a photo shoot of him with great backdrops of the trees and buldings. The few staff members we came across were extremely friendly and enjoyed meeting Alexander.

Stroller-accesaable. My family went out just expecting to hike and ended up dipping our feet into the beautiful clear water. Small minnows we're giving my son and me kisses on our feet!! We enjoyed this hiking park.

Great place to hike. Lots of trails and variety of scenery. (There's even some pine trees! The northerner in me got pretty excited about that). Only thing that irked my untameable spirit was having to pay $6 each to walk around in the woods. :P

This is a great spot to go trail riding. Small daily fee. Great trails ( about 17 miles total ) with varying elevations and scenery from ridge line in the pines to bottom land down by the Colorado River. The trail heads have plenty of parking space, some day pens, water, mounting blocks, and even a round pen ( Hwy 71 trail head ).
