I've listened to Joel Osteen's service on my phone while going through some of my hardest times I life. I've referred his service to many throughout the years. I find his delivery to be just what God wants me to hear and Joel's sermons seem to be right on time according to my concerns. I highly recommend Joel and his family sermons and speech's to all who are questionable about whom to follow when it's referenced to the word of God. I've heard other great speakers delivery God's word. Joel Osteen's aura works for me and I'm sure you won't be disappointed after you leave from one of his services. Thank you Joel, Victoria & family many blessings to you all!

I'm not quite sure what this man sermons, consist of but I'm still trying to figure out why he doesn't preach, about the reality of hell, and the Great Benediction of our Lord.
I really loved Joel and thought he was the best . But I read that he refused to do a funeral for a woman who was gay. SHAME ON YOU, after all these years I won't watch ever again!
The spirit of the Lord is truly in that building and the people who greets you are his angels and Joel and wife are true shepherds love it just a awesome experience
I am from india (Chennai city. Tamil nadu state) I didn't attend any service in this church as directly. But thiz church was so blessed to us through online services and Osteen family is the Blessed family to the world. Thank you America ...
Out here in west Texas, I love watching Joel from the app on my phone. I love how God has chosen Joel to speak the truth about God's word and how Gods infallible truth just so happens to be synchronized with my circumstances each time I visit Joel on my phone through the app. No question in my mind / heart that God is revealing to me through Joel's ministry the very knowledge God wants me to know about His Kingdom and just how favored and chosen I am in my Heavenly Father's eyes. God Bless you Joel...thank you Brother!!!!
I don't believe in the message that is being taught at Lakewood Church, they pick and choose what will be taught at the church so that it doesn't offend anyone. They teach that by loving God you can get to Heaven and that you can still sin and get to heaven but Jesus teaches another gospel. We are to pick up our cross daily and crucify our sins, turn away from them. We are to please God not ourselves because God tells us that we as people our bodies are sinful in nature. I don't consider this a church, it's more of a "self help" meeting. Even the devil can disguise himself as an Angel of light, people need to get this clue real quick before they go down Joel Osteen's path because he's not leading you to God.
pastor Joel Osteen is a liar, he tries to market his TV program that is all he cares about. He also makes around $15 million and does very little for charity
THANK YOU TO THIS MINISTRY! Joel Osteen has been an incredible influence on my life. His positive, uplifting and encouraging messages have helped me through my darkest hours, without Joel my life would not be where I need it to be. My biggest regret is I am not closer to Lakewood church, as I would love to visit this incredible ministry in person. I did see him on tour here in New Mexico and I had a wonderful evening. This was my chance to see Joel in person and it was fantastic! My friend went with me, & she was Jewish and she had a really great time! I have ordered most of Joel s books and CD s and when my life gets really hard, I review them or go to Joel s website and watch one of his video sermons. I recently got a divorce and without have all the incredible messages from Joel, and all the positive resources Lakewood Church has to offer, I would have had a very sad and miserable year. Joel Osteen has changed my life for the better, and I will be forever grateful. This is an incredible ministry and church, I have been very, very blessed to be able to watch Joel s ministry on TV and through his website. His messages have pulled me out of the darkness and given me hope and light when otherwise I would have had none. I just ordered Lakewood Church s financial series as I could not attend the classes in person and I will better myself this year in my business too, thanks to Joel s uplifting messages I now have faith in myself to improve every area of my life with gods help! Someday, I hope to be fortunate enough to attend Lakewood Church in person!
Love love love this place. A great community -family environment. My kids have been in the child care center since they were 4 months old. After 5 years of attendance and rotating through multiple childcare attendants as they have aged, they still remember my little ones names. It's just a perfect place to come and hear the Lords word while receiving inspirational, biblical messages while still holding on to an amazing family culture.
This Church welcomed me with open arms, after meeting Joel's mom and being so moved I decided on my 2nd month coming here at 37yo, I gave my life to God and was baptized and born again, my life is changed in the best ways possible, I've seen God working in my life. Its true what Joel Osteen preaches, whats ment to set me back has continued to set me up for blessings I never seen coming. I was hit actually T boned and my vehicle flipped over while doing a 180 degree spin took out a steet sign across my window as i flipped and my whole roof collapsed. I landed in a 7 foot deep ditch on my head left in complete darkness hanging by my seat belt upside down. That day when I got pulled out I hit my knees and said thank you God for protecting me. Now what was ment to do me harm is working its self out as a blessing in Disguise. Lakewood is home now to me. Blessings to who ever is reading this
Lakewood is a life changing experience that has inspired me to strive to become a better person in life. I will never forget the day I gave my life to Jesus Christ Our Lord. They have amazing pastors who preach and spread the word of God everyday. I invite everyone to experience the Lakewood family people of faith.
Joel Osteen (the Pastor) preaches the false prosperity gospel and has stated that Mormons are Christians. Visit only if you want to be motivated but if you want to learn from the Bible you should visit another church.
Good morning I was there this morning on Sunday 8:00am mass. I never felt bad as I did today. Worst customer service I have ever gotten today and for sure I will never go back again. I have been going for a year due it has changed my life. Last year I had a lot of bad things going on but I always came back due to Lakewood I felt like family. Today pastor Joel started to meet him. Which I did go to the second level. They gave me a book. I did not care for the book. I wanted to meet pastor Joel so he could say hi to my father who was diagnosed with pancreatic and colon cancer. As per doctors he does not have much time and leaves in Brownsville Texas. My father loves pastor Joel and sees all his videos. His request was to say hi to pastor Joel and tell him how seeing his videos changed his life. There a white lady with white hair said he could only sign my book and he did not care about my dying father and almost called security and I was in the first line. She asked me to leave due I refused to put my phone down. I told she didn t have to call security and I would leave. I m never coming back and I didn t have the heart to break my father heart that pastor Joel did not care
"The Lords greatest blessings are always in the future never in the past". Check web page for scheduled services, ministries and ministers.
Make sure you bring a jacket or sweeter, beause depending where you seat, in some places AC makes you cold, and don't leave service before the final blessing.
Wow a blessing to be there today, visiting today from Connecticut , Great teaching and wonderful and kind people, i feel the glory of God in church God bless.
With all that is going on in Texas from the effects of hurricane Harvey, I can not believe good Christian people are making Lakewood Church not being a shelter a big issue. What the heck? If your heart is breaking for the area there is more productive things to do for recovery efforts. Good grief, get a life! If it was needed as a shelter it would be made into one with or without Lakewood's consent. I'm pretty sure a congregation that big has more than one person calling the shots anyway and with a church that size I'm sure people who attend that live in that area are dealing with their own crisis in the flooding. And what? Houston is the 4th largest city and practically the capital of mega churches and Lakewood gets all this backlash? Help is needed now, no doubt at all but people aftermath is a real issue in disasters. I mean get real, do you not think Lakewood will not be a real asset in the aftermath of this? How many times is there a rush to help in a disaster and after, weeks after people and the disaster has been forgotten? No, I'm not a Lakewood cheerleader or a Joel Osteen cheerleader but I can think somewhat reasonable about this. And if I am totally wrong then I guess people will figure it out, they'll quit attending Lakewood and Houston will have a big empty building sitting there.
Amazing experience going in person is so much better than watching it on tv. Everyone is nice, it wasn't hard to get around at all. Will most definitely be back.
Joel Osteen is a false teacher. He teaches the Health, Wealth Prosperity Gospel. Sounds good but it is not Biblical. If you want a one way ticket to hell believe in this false branch of Christianity.
If not, stop believing what they teach at Lakewood, open the Bible yourself and see what it really says.
All nations and tounges at end here which is how heaven will be! We have a head start. There is sound biblical preaching and teaching. Most importantly our giving help to get the gospel out to the lost, for missionary work, and to help the needy! All of God's children are welcomed!
Disclaimer: I moved to Houston, from Orange County Ca. in Sept. 2012.....I sat in on 2 sermons at Chrystal Cathedral, a few years ago, so got to hear the old man do 2 versions of the same service in one day, and found the visit enjoyable. I paid a visit to the elaborate HQ of Trinity Broadcasting Network one day, out of curiosity, saw where the show was taped, took a whiz in the fascinating, gold plated fixtures men's room, and checked out the bookstore (best thing about the joint). My father was Eastern Orthodox, mom lapsed Catholic, one of her brothers a So. Bap. minister, my adopted Granma was Pentecostal.
That out of the way, a friend recommended I read Joel's latest book, "I Declare", & check out the church. The book being an inspirational 24 hr. read, I decided to venture forth. I hadn t been a regular church goer in over 25 yrs...
Lakewood describes itself this way: "We strive to make a positive impact on the city of Houston - A place where all are welcome to grow and flourish in faith and discover God's plan for their life."
It's only once you get inside that you realize how the former Compaq Center was transformed from a sports venue into a large and welcoming, religious institution, home to a 53 year old Houston, multicultural, congregation, proud of its Christianity.
There is a lot going on here, every day, I found myself surrounded by hundreds of people, friendly, upbeat, and welcoming to people they knew, as well as complete strangers.
The centerpiece of the vast hall is the religious book and gift Store, one of the best, varied and well stocked Christian stores I've been in. A major plus are its extensive child, young adult, and Hispanic, sections.
Yes, books and multi-media products by Joel and his wife, Victoria, are on prominent display, but they do not overwhelm the place and I give them credit for selling books by other famous evangelists and Christian thinkers, past and present, including other prominent Texas names, and even a few of those folks who are the latest, in America's long religious history, to be pre-occupied with prophecy and "End Times" hand wringing. There are also many varieties of Bibles, & Bible study resources, adult, and young adult, fiction, of the religious, and historical/religious, genres.
This isn't one of those holy roller, Pentecostal joints, where everyone, from a baby in diapers to your 100 yr. old great granny, expresses their faith by hopping up and down, doing back flips and cartwheels, in the aisles, while speaking in tongues.
Here, you have hundreds, if not thousands, of Caucasians, Blacks, and Hispanics, young and old. From the volunteers and paid staff, to security, everyone was friendly and enthusiastic (though firm when needed, to make things, like Joel's book signing table and the long line of people, several times each Sunday move along smoothly.)
There are 2, 90 min., services each Sunday, and while the theme of the day may be the same I get the impressions there is something a little different about each one, such as a guest speaker. Music, prayer, talks by Victoria and a guest, and a 20-30 min. sermon/talk by Joel.
As I told him afterward, the first time I went, when I got a friendly handshake, smile, and book autograph, reading, and hearing, him, reminded me of the positive thinking messages of Norman Vincent Peale.
He shares, in a friendly, casual way, a message in 30 min, saying a lot in the process, that other preachers in the mega church genre would take an hour to find the right words to express.
I have been coming here ever since.
Oh, and sorry, no gold plated potties and urinals to be found. :-D
Awesome church. The worship is out of this world, the people are incredibly friendly and Pastor Joel has a heart of Gold. When he speaks, he does a meet & greet after every service. Had the opportunity to speak with him for a few minutes and just truly is a Godly man!
