We loved our hike here. It s closer to a nature walk than a hike but it s a beautiful way to spend the day. The autumn gold was out and divine. This is a perfect hike for families with young kids. It s just long enough and not too difficult or too boring. I d love to go back.
Parking lot too small, but hike was easy and beautiful!
Such a peaceful atmosphere, to hike, bike or meditate near the river. I'm a Colorado native, and this is my favorite place to decompress!!

Fun mtb ride but crowded at most times, especially weekends.
A friend shown me this "secret" spot a long time ago. Well, it's not so much of a secret anymore, but it's still special to me. It's a unique park because unlike most parks in Colorado there isn't a King Soopers down the street, it's only 30 minutes away, it's peaceful, it's free and there's shade! If you're entertaining friends and want to show them the beauty Colorado can offer without driving an hour and a half, this is the spot!

Nice small park nestled in the mountains, trails are nice and follow along a river, well worth a visit to explore the area or have a good hike!
Crowded but just as wonderful as always. Just don't park illegally. You will get a ticket. Lol

Amazing for kids and dogs. Not very scenic for adults compared to most things in the area. Theres a castle less than a mile from the parking lot and plenty of areas to fish

Great kid and small dog friendly hike within 30-60 mins of Denver. My small dogs love this hike. It s not too difficult for them, and they love playing and cooling down in the river. I would expect this hike to also be kid friendly. There is a trail that heads up into the mountain for older kids and adults, and one that remains pretty flat for small children.
Family and dog friendly. Nice hiking, and not so busy once you start to climb. Parking can be a challenge.

Absolutely amazing time here. It s so picturesque and has fun easy trails and harder ones for all levels of difficulty. We started here and went down to the castle and then ate lunch and proceeded down the road a little ways to Panarama Point Trail. That one was intermediate/moderate and a difficult trail for me as I m out of shape but totally worth the climb.

I love this place! It has gotten really popular though, so if you go on weekends you won't be able to use the parking lot.

Really love this place. Lots of things to see and a variety of trail difficulties/elevations, including some that are wheelchair accessible to s point.
The creek is great whether you want to hear the water as you hike or you want to take a little dip. Lots of shaded places along the creek to set up a camp chair and let you kids splash in the water.
Parking area has lots of picknic tables and (non plumbed) bathrooms.
Terrible park. Too many people, lots of hostile 29er mountain bikers and the fishing and hiking are awful. The trails are very dirty and there's no Starbucs close by.
Best to simply avoid the area and stay in the city.
Very easy hike with kids. My kids actually didn't complain. The only knock would be parking. We had to park on the main road which is a little dangerous with traffic.
Great place to home with family. It is a popular mountain bike area so it is good to keep an eye out our stay on the river walk where bikes are not allowed.

This is a great place for a picnic, and the creek is excellent for wading if you have little kids or pups!

A great place to introduce young kids to nature. Trails are easy to hike and the river is slow enough for them to splash around.
Nice mountain bike trails, maps and signs could be clearer about options. The most obvious loop is really not much of a ride. Up the stream a ways is a nicer trail with some significant elevation gain

Clean well maintained and while I haven't caught anything yet I have seen beautiful trout jumping and biting when I go fishing. Love bring my pup with me out here, he loves both playing in the water and watching the hummingbirds.
Popular hiking and mountain bike park near the Denver metro area. It is a busy place but the trails are nice.

It can get a little crowded on the weekends but this is a fun little park with great trails. The trails aren't super difficult but they are perfect for a quick run or walk. A great spot to spend a couple hours.
I used to come here a bunch back in college, these days it is quite crowded, but very enjoyable on the off-time. It is not a very large trail, so great for the novice or just a quick visit with nature.

I took my wife and 2 kids ,5 and 8 months old, to this awesome park today and man let me tell you while the parking lot was packed I saw 2 different pairs of people only. This park is a great place to take the kids with lots of easy trails, bathrooms, cool bridges and trees , and the creek. Go here if seclusion isn't a must but could happen.
My daughter loves coming here. One of our favorite places to hike.

Fantastic place for kids but beautiful for anyone. Not a challenging hike but very scenic and super easy to get into and out of. Lots of smooth, mostly flat trails where we could, with some effort, get our double stroller through. Also, when it s frozen you can sometimes walk out on the ice (which you should do very carefully!). We make a regular habit of this place and grab the Red Rocks Grill on the way back home! Perfect Sunday!
Beautiful easy hike for myself and my old dog. Highway 74 is currently closed though, took an extra 20 minutes to get there.
Love it for kids! There are lots of trails sprouting out from this trailhead, with varying levels of difficulty and length, and all have fantastic views. Be sure to go near the amphitheater, where there are picnic tables and a nice place to wade into the river.

Favorite hiking trail if you arent use to big big hiking trails. Also creekide. Very enjoyable.
Way too many people. Good strolling paths for young kids. No challenge whatsoever. Should be rated easy.
Lots of trails to hike. There's easy hikes for kids of any walking age. It's my go to spot for easy hikes with my toddler

One of my favorite places to hike. Trails are well groomed, and not difficult. Plenty of places to stop and rest or take pictures. Restrooms are clean and well maintained, just bring your own hand sanitizer.
Lair O' the Bear is a great hiking spot in Evergreen/Kittredge, it pieces together along side several other parks in the area to make a long hike for the day.... never seen a bear though.
