It's very well kept and a jewel for the city of Lakewood
Beautiful area with easy hikes. Strollers aren't workable and it's not ADA-friendly, but most folks can walk most paths and enjoy themselves.
Easy hike for a nice relaxing day. There is a very small streams to cross a few minutes in but the are plenty of stones there to get across. There are roughly 15-20 picnic tables between 4-5 different locations. The main trail runs along the river. The path is very flat packed dirt. Many places to stop and enjoy nature. Farther down is the castle which you can see from across the river. Be warned, it's private property. The trail changes about 1 mile in and started switchbacking up the mountain. It's still a fairly wide trail and mainly packed dirt. It would be amazing for mountain biking which it's mainly used for.
Great place to hike or fish. Great trails for mountain biking and trail running.
It's a beautiful park. There are plenty of trails and a large parking lot. The bathrooms are clean too. There's a creek running through the area as well. Overall, it's a very nice park.
Always crowded if you take the trail to the right, people don't always pick up after their dogs
Great place. Picnic area, nice paths for hikers saw a bunch of people with bikes but not sure where they went. We enjoyed our selves
Many trails. Great area for hiking. From easy to hard.
I highly recommend coming dieing the week or arriving early. This place was so busy on weekends there was no parking. Suprised at how clean trail was on other hand. Lots of picnic tables and benches. Allot of the trail where closed
A Great experience Trailing IN the Mountains. Peaceful, well maintained and got exactly what I came for!
Great easy trail. Good for beginners. Clean restrooms and picnic facilities.
Great place to take visitors it's gorgeous and an easy hike for people who aren't adjusted to altitude. Gets busy on the weekends though
We went today and the trails were packed/snow covered but still easy enough for my 8 and 3 yo boys. Lots of fun and easy, different trails, bridges and very woodsy.
Beautiful park, very overcrowded and full of rude people. The bicyclist think they own the trails. Not the place to go if you want some peace.
This is an awesome place to hike, picnic and take your kids!
Beautiful park. A creek running though. It's a little farther than Google maps says it is so just keep going and there will be a sign.
Great easy hike for adults and kids of all ages! There are a few loops you can do and it links up with other well-known trails. Watch out for storms in June -- Bring a raincoat.
Beautiful hiking area with easy trails for kids and grandparents but some hills for extended hikes.
Lots yo do. Beautiful scenery. Even when the lot is packed the trails aren't too crowded. You could really spend hours here and stay entertained. Trails for hikers bikers and fishermen alike. Will always come back... JUST PLEASE PICK UP YOUR GARBAGE. No one wants to see that shiiiii
This park is awsome!!! So many trail to choose from. The water creak makes yhe wake very rnjoyable and cool.
Wonderful park with a reasonable drive from Denver. The river runs through the park, and there are well maintained paths with picnic tables along it's length. There are cottonwood trees that line the river and paths, so shade is available on those hot days.
We went on a very busy 4th of July, and still found a picnic table for our group of 6. Despite all of the traffic, we still saw deer moving around the park.
Nice work JeffCo, we'll be back.
So gorgeous. Trails right along the water leading into miles and miles of other trails. Great spot to hang with kids.
Fun trail, can be crowded at the bottom, dogs allowed, watch out for rattlers.
Great family friendly hike. It does get a bit crowded. The castle is cool.
5 stars if it had more parking. Great picnic tables, hikes and biking.
Another really cool park to go mountain biking close to Denver. Has some great terrain! Might get a little crowded if it's nice out since it's so close.
Too many bicycles. Feels like dodging the traffic all the time.
Beautiful hike in spring, summer, or fall! Long trails but easy hiking, and lots of paths to choose from. Quick drive from Denver just past main street in Morrison. Kid and puppy friendly.
Nice clean restrooms, good parking, really nice esay to moderate trails. Best on weekdays, Super busy on weekends & holidays.
Been going there for years. Very well taken care of. Low difficulty hiking. Sometimes the bikes and peds have to work it out but cool place.
Very beautiful as many places are in the Colorado mountains. Nice walking trail near a creak and picnic area. Worth the trip.
Nice paths. Seems to get a tad crowded, but easy terrain to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Nice little walk plenty of spots for the kids to get in the Creek.. mine didn't want to.. have to watch out for the dirt bikes.. went to see the castle house from the trail pretty cool ..not sure I'd go back but one time hike is nice.
great place for an easy hike and to bring your kids
Beautiful trail and kid friendly. Can't wait to go back!
Parking can get packed but great trails which are well maintained.
Holy cow this place is amazing! I live close by and just found it, the pups love hiking here and jumping into the creek. What a lovely trail and invigorating place. People are super friendly, the park is clean, and bathrooms very clean. Super sweet spot if you want a short but nice adventure.
Easy hike. Watch for bikers. Love walking down to the castle and back
Great scenery and easy hiking trail, especially if you have kids or a dog. The stream is very relaxing as well and provides great fishing when the season is right.
This is a great family hike. With the castle only a little more than a mile down one of the trails it peaked the interest of the kids the entire time.
Much of the trail is in the shade which makes it nice for hot days. The creek is pretty and the castle is definitely a fun attraction.
Love this trail. Lots of beautiful natural scenery that goes along a river bed. One of my favorite hikes!
Amazing little park; a quick hike with river, meadow, glade, and bluff all in one hike that won't overly tax your out of towners. Great stream wading, too. Far too little parking, though.
Awesome time it was sprinkling out and we stayed along the creek and under the trees
Easy trail to walk. It is a popular place with not enough parking spaces. People have to park in the side of the road.
Great park! Somewhat crowded, but very easy and pleasant hike, runs along the creek, swimming hole at the end. There was a 7 mile trail up the Ridge that looked more challenging but I didn't try it. Parking can be tough.
Great place to walk. Even a nice amount of shade in parts of the path.
Great spot for a hike, mtb, or a picnic along the creek. Some very easy hiking creekside with a bit more of a challenge heading up the hill to panorama point. Gets VERY busy. Last went early on a weekday morning and the parking lot was nearly full by 8am.
The parking lot fills VERY quickly on the weekends, and it's not paved (don't wash your car right before a visit). The paths along the creek are well-maintained and there are restrooms at the trailhead and picnic tables throughout. The pavilion is a nice spot (turn left facing the creek). Fishing is so so. Nice spot for hiking and mountain biking.
Nice easy hiking trail with creek for dogs to play in
Decent place for a mellow family hike/walk, but there is always a wait for a parking place, and the mouse positive attribute of the park is its proximity to the metro area.
Nice park with picnic areas, adequate parking and a nice trail for hiking or mountain biking. It can get pretty crowded with mountain bikers on weekend mornings, so if you're hiking (especially with kids) that might not be the very best time to go. However, it is a good place to hike with kids because it's fun to cross some of the small streams along the trail and you only have to make it a couple of miles to see the castle!
It was amazingly peaceful and moderately challenging
Excellent for the whole family. Nice areas to hike and play in the water. Parking is limited. Beautiful area.
1st time hiking this trail! Love the flat part of the trail before it goes up. But holy cow bikers! Really had to keep a tight grip on my dog cause they come flying down the trail every 15 seconds it seems
Great place for an easy hike and a picnic. I went with a group of other nannies and all our Nanny kids. The kids loved it and so did we.
It s really pretty, but mostly, if you like walking through nature with 18,000 other people on basically a city sidewalk, then this is the hike for you.
