LACMA is one of my favorite museums in LA. If you are local or a tourist make sure to add this to your list. I suggest visiting once during the day and once at night. If you visit during the day there is tons to do and look at specially the tar pits and the giant boulder rock exhibit. (By the way those are FREE). There is an actual exhibit that you can pay for.

Return here at night, I promise you the lights won t disappoint!

It's just a breathtaking and brain satiating place to walk in and about. Love every thing about it! Not to mention the numerous times and days that the museum offers free entrance. How could you not visit?

25 $ per person + 16 $ parking and people wonder why the least fortunate can t access culture? I have seen museums with much bigger collections and smaller price (NY Met comes to mind).
Oh and maybe 1/3 of the collections were closed.
Also, turn down the AC for F s sake! You want to kill the most fragile too?

Great

Beautiful, informative, historic. This place hosts to amazing art pieces. It's a definite must to come here when you're a tourist or an LA county resident (which you can come for free after 3pm, just have your ID with you).

We had an awesome couple of hours strolling around this museum. We really enjoyed the Fiji exhibit, as well as the Julie Mehretu exhibit. This was a great activity for a date weekend for my wife and I. Were anticipating more trips back here, and we'll even bring the kids once in a while.

What can I say that hasn't been said. It's an LA hallmark. It's difficult to park around here, so onsite paid parking is your best bet.

Exhibits to sell out so if you're looking to see something buy a ticket for it. Especially true of the rain room.

Fabulous place. The Julie Mehretu exhibit is astounding!! LA residents should know that they can get in free for certain hours during the week!! Visitors should note that Friday nights have free live music.

I do recommend.

I do recommend.
One of the must visit museums in the area.
Always good to go and hour or two before the exhibitions close so you don t have to wait for the famous Urban Lights to turn on.

We visited the outdoor art exhibits here because it was a sunny day so we didn't want to waste our daylight inside the museum. I can't speak to the indoor exhibits. We enjoyed walking around in the sunshine looking at the statues and exhibits outside.

This is definitely worth a visit! Make sure you come at night as it's really pretty when all lit up. Parking is scarce so I'd reccomend finding parking on the street that is parallel to this one. There are many people there but if you're willing to wait, you can get pictures with no one else in the background.

A couple of weeks ago a lovely young lad and I met up to see the Friday Jazz nights. We were not disappointed. There was jazz in the air. Children dancing. Snacks and wine around. A gentleman was even interpretive/lyric dancing to the jazz who we're still unsure of if part of the jazz ensemble. The musicians themselves seemed genuinely happy and wanting to be there. We'll definitely be back. As the daughter of a jazz musician, a lover of jazz and art itself, we'll Definitely be back.

Somehow disappointing - definitely worth the visit, particularly for the modern and abstract, but I just expected more; better galleries, better lighting, better frames for heavens sake! Seems odd for a city like LA to have a less than impressive art museum.

A bit pricey, particularly if you are seeing the special display, but if I lived in the area I would not hesitate to get an annual pas. The Japanese pavilion was beautifully set up and soothing to enjoy the screens in particular.

My husband and I became members about 10 years ago. The value is amazing, the exhibits exquisite. Make this a must see on any trip to the LA area. Even if you dont want to go in, the lamp posts outside make a great selfie.
