We kept passing by this place as we walked through Berkeley and I kept saying how cute it was. We ended up staying around for dinner and decided to check this place out. We got the Middle Eastern plate which I love because I love sampling different things and this dish allows you to do that. It came with chicken cilica, Grecian spinach & feta sandwich, lamb lule, lemon chicken soup. The lemon chicken soup is delicious. I m glad I chose that over the potato options. Everything else was pretty good, but nothing really stood out as a favorite. We also got the pomegranate chicken and that was really good with moist and tender pieces of chicken and good flavor.

Overall, it was a cute place and we were lucky to have a nice day so we could sit on the patio. The food is alright, but I like the variety.

This is my second trip here and both times they did not disappoint. The service was top notch both pleasant, prompt and unobtrusive. The food was well prepared. This is an ideal place for get acquainted dates and friendly get togethers. Although I live in the city (used to work in Berkeley), I will be back again. An additional bonus, they have some nice shops around it.

A casual, affordable cafe with consistent food. I've been to both the Berkeley and San Francisco locations of La Mediterranee and always had a decent meal. The dolmas are particularly good . The mixed mezze appetizer is also a good choice for sharing. It's hard in a sea of truly great restaurants in both Berkeley and San Francisco to judge places on their own merits. This is enjoyable fare, but is not particularly innovative, rather it is solid and predictable traditional offerings of kebab, moussaka, pita and hummus type fare. The staff are not always particularly attentive and are not well educated when it comes to wine, but again, pleasant when they are serving and I was happy to take the leftovers home for lunch the next day.

Berkeley, College Ave location of a small chain of Bay Area Mediterranean restaurants with three additional locations in San Francisco. Good menu selection, and a plus for vegetarians and vegans is that they have a separate veggie menu. Notwithstanding that, the food was disappointingly average. Menu variety is good, prices are extremely reasonable. Service was so so, but it wasn't busy and my date and I sat and talked for over two hours. No one brought a check or pressed us to leave, so there were definitely some redeeming features. I could actually give them three and a half stars if there were such a choice. To get more, the food, service, and decor would have to be upgraded. Recommended if you are not expecting a gourmet meal.

Had a outting in Berkeley and stopped in for a quick bite. Ordered the veggie kebab plate with Armenian potato salad. Both were very tasty.

They have indoor & outdoor seating and we're very attentive. I chose to eat outside as it was a beautiful spring day.

I was surprised by the high reviews. Very poor service. Pretty decent food. But not consistent..some good but mostly it was just ok. Hummus, salad and chicken kabobs were good. Not impressed with Baba ghanouj, rice, or kibbeh platter. Esp not impressed with dark hair in my salad.

The people that work at this place are nice. The food is OK. In general I find Greek food kinda boring, so that might be the main problem. Still, I thought the chicken legs/thighs dish with the fruity marinade was kinda dry, and I was disappointed. My kebab seemed kinda overcooked and was unimpressive. (I've had better at other greek places in the states, and MUCH better in greece.)

This place is amazing! The food is great, portions are huge, and the service is phenomenon! It's by far my favorite restaurant in Berkeley. I highly recommend it to anybody. Whether you're having a family dinner/brunch, Business dinner/lunch, date, Birthday, or just hungry and you wanna have the best Mediterranean food in the bay!

This place has been around forever in my neighborhood. We have lots of choices for places to eat out and La Med was always "I'll go because my wife likes it". BUT a year ago they got a new chef or something and the quality of the food is amazing! I always get the chicken kabob and it's so good... Night and day difference from before! Now I'm the one who looks forward to eating at La Med.

My mom and I had a lovely mother's day dinner here on the patio, we enjoyed the food, wine, and friendly service. The baklava was served with freshly whipped cream, a nice treat at the end of the meal.

Incomparable Berkeley mainstay. Awesome food, service and atmosphere. Wonderful place to dine out with your dog (as long as you sit out front on the heated patio.) Very dog-friendly! Don't miss the heavenly cheesecake!!

Good food from Armenian, Greek, Lebanese, and generally Arabic recipes. Excellent. Try the Armenian patato salad. Lots of vegetarian and now some gluten free dishes. One of our favorite places in the College Ave. area. Parking can be a challenge.

Excellent. What a treat to stumble upon in the Bay Area. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot, which can be a challenge. The food was moderately priced for the quality, which was really outstanding. We enjoyed sitting on the open-air section of the patio.

Good ole standby. Service is great and friendly and you will get your lunch fast-so perfect if you have a pending apptmt. I like that they added a chicken shawarma sandwich but please put more sauce in it or double the amount you give on the side.

Very consistent food, casual atmosphere, okay service. A favorite for 15+ years. Way better than the San Francisco locations. Middle eastern plate, chicken pomegranate, filo dough plates are the favorites. The kebabs are not very interesting and a bit on the dry side, so don't order those. Love the variety of food you get on the middle eastern plate and you can sub out an item for another item already on the dish (common sub-- Levant sandwich for a pomegranate chicken drumstick, or a filo dough piece). Favorite filo dough pieces: spinach and feta (Greek spanakopita) and chicken Cilicia (moroccan bisteeya). Date dessert is out of this world if you love medjool dates or even if you don't think you do.
