La Maquette restaurant toronto Review

Attended a wedding there. The place has a great location with very reasonably priced parking right next to it. They close the outdoor gates for the wedding which makes the place very private. The greenery and waterfall make it a perfect spot for pictures. The wedding was attended by 100 people and it was a perfect size. The food and service were excellent. I have already been recommending the place to everybody I know. The head table was located right in the middle so that everybody could see the happy couple. The two levels make it great for dancing or eating/ talking as you wish. Very elegant and classy.

I attended an office holiday party here. From the view to the fantastic food, this was truly a night to remember.

Attended a wedding here its really beautiful and clean. I really liked how you can have a garden ceremony.

It was a bit stuffy for our senior formal (120 people) but the decor and service was nice

This is a beautiful space, but haven't had an opportunity to test out the dinner menu. I attended for a private event event for appies and drinks, and was impressed overall.

Only knock would be how loud it is upstairs during a wedding reception.
Lovely mix of spaces: outdoor, dancefloor, dining.

Everything was great except one bartender who ruined the night. A rude bartender who stopped serving us at 10pm (not even water) and pushed one of our party goers for standing too close to the table. He had one job to serve alcohol and he didn't, like are we not paying you? A shame because everything else at the venue was great including food.

My husband and I have had lunch and dinner at La Maquette several times. The food and service were always excellent. Our last experience was outstanding. Why? Besides having good food and service, I got my lunch complimentary because we went on my birthday. Yes, complimentary lunch or dinner on your birthday! What more can one expect?

Great event venue' nice outdoor terrace and waterfall feature for wedding ceremony and photos. Fun atmosphere. Clean. Beautiful decor.

Attended a friend's wedding at La Maquette. The venue is classy and good for a small wedding. No parking on site but there are street parking along Church Street or King Street. There is a church across the street from La Maquette.

from service to the atmosphere to food.. everything was just perfect. no complaints.

Waiters, I bet are nephews, uncles, aunts ...
The "music" man played the guitar for THREE hours non stop, boring and melancholic!
We were six people, tried six courses... JOKE was the outcome!!!
We have been in numerous places in T.O. and else, and we have NEVER seen a service or food so awful!

We went to celebrate a special occasion and it was all right. The appetizers were tasty, although unimaginative, and the mains were good, although the lobster entered rubbery consistency territory. Presentation was also lacking, and the desserts were forgettable.

Excellent restaurant with great varieties of French and Italian food with very nice romantic atmosphere and pleasent staff excellent service one of finest dinning place in downtown city of Toronto I would recommend to everybody to visit if you have never been there. Been there with my significant other for New Year's eve dinner enjoyed and had wonderful time at La Maquette restaurant. We both really liked place my girlfriend was impressed with music and chandelier.

Choosing La Maquette for my wedding was the most unforgettable experience, ever! This restaurant makes for a classy and intimate atmosphere, which really made my wedding a very meaningful one.

Wedding planning couldn't have been more easy with the help of their restaurant owner and operator, Ange Kanavas. I wanted a no-stress wedding with about 150 guests and on a reasonable budget. I actually did not have to look at any other venues as this place was recommended by my Mom. I had such a wonderful experience working with Ange in planning everything - she really takes your day to heart and works with you to make sure you have the perfect day (while meeting your budget!). She has a knack for picking out beautiful flowers too - the ones she organized for our wedding had the perfect autumn tone, which matched our colour theme. The menu selection was very flexible - lots of options to choose from - and what I loved the most was that the restaurant took care with any reported allergies/dietary restrictions. The dessert - particularly the white chocolate truffle mousse cake - was apparently a HUGE HIT. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try it as I was all over the place that day but apparently, it was quoted as being the "best cake I've ever had!" Ange, looks like I will have to dine at your restaurant in the near future to have a slice of that cake!

Overall, I am so happy to have celebrated my wedding at this beautiful restaurant. I'd go back in time just to relive my wedding there all over again!

Large bright space with two levels. It has elegance and style

As we were picking a venue for our wedding, a couple of friends suggested La Maquette Restaurant. After meeting Ange Kanavas, the owner, we knew we found the perfect place. Our wedding happened on May 23, 2015 and our guest list was about 145 people and we booked the whole restaurant. Ange was a godsend to us. She guided us from the beginning and acted as the "wedding planner" the day of the wedding making sure everything was in place. She was quite accomodating with our requests and made sure we had a perfect day.

Everyone was raving on how beautiful the venue was - my 9 year old nephew even wants to get married there :) We were lucky that the weather cooperated with us and we got a beautiful sunny day so we held our ceremony on the patio right by the waterfalls. It was so surreal! The location couldn't be better situated either - right across from St. James Park and steps away from St. Lawrence Market. It was perfect for our picture taking. The food was also incredible! The chicken was juicy and the salmon was cooked perfectly. We did not hear one single complaint even though there were a lot of "picky" eaters. Ange even suggested Jerry Aaron as the DJ and he was awesome! Our guests danced the whole night through. The only complaint we got after was that their feet were still hurting from dancing the night away :)

We would not change a single thing about our wedding. A lot of the guests said they felt like they were in an "oasis in an urban jungle." Thank you, Ange and the La Maquette staff, for making all our dreams come true!

Great venue for parties and weddings! Been here twice already and had a great time!

Attending work events at La Maquette for two years now. The service and quality of good is spectacular and you feel it when enjoying the food. For one of their packages they do a outdoor s'mores desert which is really fun. Great open space but wish they had more washrooms especially when potentially having like a hundred people walking around inside.

How to widen your really nice food great venue I miss to be able to be inside and outside

Have been here for dinner multiple times, and lunch once. Always a treat! Very good food, and an intimate/romantic atmosphere.

I held a corporate event at La Maquette last week. The venue was absolutely beautiful (rustic + glam)! The food was delicious and above all else, the staff was top notch (professional and efficient). Kudos to Ange on her wonderful service from start to end - she made my job as the event coordinator a breeze.

We had our wedding at La Maquette a few days ago. One of the reasons we chose La Maquette was because of the personality of our event manager, Ange and I think based on that decision alone, both of us would recommend La Maquette to anyone. Her lends her expertise at every step, as well as her flexibility. She really took ownership of both the event space and the wedding. Beyond Ange, the day of staff were spectacular. Dave ran things with military precision. The staff were all extremely helpful, and all guests felt well received.



Well done to the people at La Maquette thanks for being the extra member of our wedding party.

The food is so good APRIL FOOLS. The waitress spilled caramel on my hat and did not even say sorry or even attempt to clean it up.

Nearly everything about the experience was awesome! Ange, the avenue manager always had ideas to make things better & the moment she knew I had a question, Bev the staff manager was right there. Only thing was time between the courses - but to be fair that could've been a side effect of a change in schedule.

Beautiful! Great wedding coordinator who knew every last detail! Food is amazing too!

Visited during 'Winterlicious' 2011.
Set three course meal for 2 + wine, gratuities $140 in a wonderful setting.
Food was very good, well presented and served by a most attentive waiter, Robert. The restaurant was obviously packed, but the ambiance was enjoyable, complemented by an excellent acoustic guitar player.
Not sure what it would cost outside of the 'Winterlicious' winter culinary celebration, but I would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic meal or for a special night out.

Nice place but upstairs is soooooo hot.... Even with AC apparently at full blast

I loved everything about this place, from the romantic interior to the warm, friendly staff. I took my boyfriend there for Christmas dinner last night, with a Teambuy voucher. We started with the steamed mussels which were served in a rich, flavorful broth. My boyfriend had the quail and I had the vegetarian risotto. The risotto was creamy and cooked to perfection with sundried tomatoes and mushrooms. My boyfriend finished every bite of his dish. The portions were quite generous - I could only eat half of my risotto! I highly recommend this cozy spot for dinner on a chilly winter's eve.

WORST SERVICE EVER! If you are not a wealthy suit then please avoid this restaurant. Their servers are rude and barely notice anyone they THINK will not leave a good tip. My boyfriend and I went there for summerlicious. Their menu was OK, but let me explain some of the service we got. Every time we wanted to order our next course we needed to call over our server. Not once did he stop by our table to ask how our meal was or if we were ready for our other course. When we were first seated, for some reason the hostess put us two on a large table set for 4. Our server came over and asked us if we were expecting anyone else, when we replied no, he became visibly upset and asked us why we took up this large table. UMMM.. WE DIDN'T SEAT OURSELVES? The last straw was when a fly was in my wine. I called our server over and and showed him, he responded by saying "thats what happens when you sit outside" then walked away. I called him back and demanded a new glass of wine. The service was ridiculous, how on earth this restaurant is sill in business is beyond my scope of understanding. There are numerous other restaurants in the area so if you find yourself in this neighborhood choose any other than this.

We hold a fundraiser event at La Maquette for our charitable organization, everything was perfect, from food to staff. Angel and all the staff there was so helpful to us and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Organization was on point. The food tasted great and everyone attended our event complimented the venue. I would 100% recommend this venue. We had a very successful event because of their help.

On behalf of my wife, family and friends I just wanted to congratulate Ange and her team at La Maquette, for the wonderful job they did, that allowed us to stage our wedding last month.
All of our guests have continued to comment on what a fantastic experience they had, the day was perfect.
We appreciate just how much effort was put in by you and your staff, but Ange, you made it seem effortless.
The food and the environment that was created, surpassed our expectation, a day we'll never forget, Thank You.

I went to La Maquette with my wife to have a romantic dinner.

We both love french food and have dined in many, from Quebec to France.

The restaurant decor inside was inviting, I personally liked it.

The wait staff and front reception were pleasant.

We both order the Roasted Lamb Shank, and an appetizer of Camembert cheese.

The Roasted Lamb Shank was below par. It was cooked correctly, medium rare, however the flavor and presentation was bland, and the portion size was small for the price,

The Camembert was also below par, 2 pieces of cheese a little over 1 inch square deep fried with bland flavor.

I think this restaurant could do better, people come for the food and a new experience, for us it was a disappointment, the chef at this restaurant did not deliver

This was just awful! Horribly overpriced.
Had duck for $38!!!! and it was pretty bad. Very bland, no flavour at all. Scratch that, they poured some oil on it that reminded me of my primary school cafeteria food. Other than that, no flavour at all.
Waiter spilled a full glass of water on me, and didn't even offer me complementary app or a glass of wine.
Good thing we were sitting on the patio, cause the main dining room smelled like a funeral home. The decor also looked like that. I'm guessing they are trying to cater to old people.
I guess these guys don't like repeat business. Not coming back, that's for sure.

I must say that this restaurant was everything that I imagined and more. From when the way i was greeted upon my arrival the service we received, everything was excellent. I have been telling everyone about this restaurant.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOR ANY AND EVERY SPECIAL OCCASION. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

My husband and I recently hosted our wedding at La Maquette and it was absolutely fabulous! The food was out of this world, the staff were amazing and the atmosphere is stunning. Every guest I spoke to either told me how beautiful the space is, how delicious the food was or how excellent the staff were! Everything went so smoothly it was amazing. Ange, the event coordinator, is so lovely and on top of everything. She was fantastic to work with and I felt so comfortable all evening because I knew Ange was on top of it. If you're looking for a downtown Toronto location, that isn't cookie cutter and has its own level of charm; this is the space for you!

Enjoyed Winterlicious menu Saturday Feb. 2 - lobster bisque spiked with the perfect amount of heat to bring out a more robust version of this rich creamy soup, the grilled lobster tails balanced the sometimes overly sweet taste of the traditional clarified butter,jasmine rice a nice complement but a little overdone, however this was a generous portion of a delicacy I thoroughly enjoyed. We sampled all three desserts at our table - ganache divine, "petite four" chocolate cups filled with a fruity-sorbet like cream with fresh fruit and berries is the perfect finish to a mela rich with French deliciousness.Wine by the bottle very reasonably priced. Loved the romanitc atmosphere... Will definitely return. Service a little rushed...except for the second course which took too long to get to the table.

La Maquette is a beautiful venue, and exactly what we envisioned for our cocktail reception. The food is fantastic, decor beautiful and Ange is a true joy to work with. Great space for any event!
