La Crosse Family Restaurant Review

Good Family restaurant. Great prices. Our selection of food was OK. Beef Barley soup was more a very thick Barley beef soup. Not brothy at all if you like it that way. Chicken Dumpling soup was good, brothy, full of veggies and chicken...but needed a lot of salt and pepper. Hot beef sandwich full of meat with gravy but it was cold...not sure how that could be but it was. Beef Stroganoff was good! Plenty of tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles. All just needed more seasoning... pretty bland other than the stroganoff A LOT of food for $13.00

Our family decided to give this restaurant a try for breakfast while we were on vacation in La Crosse and it far exceeded our expectations. They were very helpful with our 2 little kids and we went back again the very next morning. It was the best breakfast we had on our entire trip. The servers remembered us from the day before and even remembered what we ordered. I had the country skillet (biscuits, outstanding sausage gravy, hashbrowns, cheese, eggs, other stuff) both days and it was awesome. My wife chose healthier options for herself and they were outstanding as well. Pancakes were great, waffles outstanding, even the oatmeal was better than what I am used to (no idea what they do to it to make it so much better than how I make it). Very large portions, and friendly staff. There were mostly older clientele when we were there (pretty early in the morning!) but it was outstanding for our family.

Good food at a good price. Service is friendly and quick. Enjoy coming here either alone or with friends and family. Have only ever eaten the breakfast menu, which is always available.

This place is a great place for breakfast at all times of the day. The wait staff is on top of all the important things. Drink refills, table clearing, and everything else.

Might have a short wait, but the food and service with low prices is worth it.

Wonderful! Cheap but doesn't lack quality. Family of 4 and bill under $30. Will definitely go here for breakfast all the time.

We are from out of town we went with family that lives in the area the waitress was excellent more than helpful welling to wait as long as we needed for us to pick out what we wanted. And then we get the food "oh my god" you get plenty to fill you up and then just a little more. We had breakfast and they actually serve a "ham steak" If you order there combinations breakfast top one, it was excellent.

This quaint little restaurant hits all the checkboxes: very friendly service, really good food that arrives very quickly, and reasonable prices.

Very disappointed. Food was tasteless. Carpet was filthy. Generally run down. Waitperson had an apron on that looked like it had never been washed. Wondered if the restaurant has different owners or managers. We have moved out of state. Thus it has been several years since we have been back. We won't be going to this restaurant again. It's to bad because the food use to be good and the prices reasonable.

Delicious & reasonably priced food, plus a nice assortment of choices to pick from...also yummy pies & desserts!!

This was first visit, we were seated right away, our waitress was knowledgeable and very nice. Our food came out a few minutes after we ordered and it was hot, fresh and delicious!

Blown away by the La Crosse Family Restaurant! I brought my youth group of 15 people plus my infant. We did not have time to give a reservation beforehand but were seated quickly, the service was excellent and everything was outstanding! This, by far, was the cheapest, largest portion, and highest-quality meal of the weekend. The restaurant itself was clean and up-to-date. The La Crosse Family Restaurant is a place you must stop!

Always friendly and casual good food reasonable price

Service was terrible I wanted well done hamburger it was raw and bloody the waitress was terrible not sure if she was new took 10 minutes just to refill my water very bad people skills. I've been going there for a few years now but will no longer return worst service ever. There were literally only for people in the restaurant and she said the other waitress got sidetracked she wasn't my waitress can't stand people who blame other people for their problems

My last review I gave them a year ago was 5 stars, been averaging 2 times a week eating dinner here it's been going down hill for the last 5 months now!! Needs better Management in the evening!

Absolutely the best quality and value in a restaurant in the city. Can't be beat for breakfast foods. Prepared fast and perfect everytime. Love this place.

We made a reservation in April and they said they set aside two special needs rooms when they had been already booked up for a convention and wedding. My "special needs" room was on the second floor, with no elevator. My room had no available oulets to plug my CPAP or even my phone. My room smelt of must, and woke up to blocked sinus.
No ice machine on the second floor. The outside doors open only to the section your in even though the rooms are all connected on the inside. I guess my biggest concern is when we were booking our rooms they could not tell us there were none available.

Great place to eat with or without the kids. Good food for great prices.

I eat very often there. It is very decent food for a good price. Can't beat it in La Crosse.
The waitresses are very friendly so don't forget to give them a really good tip, they mostly live on that.
If you never try the place before , it is time to do it......

Almost ridiculous. I do not mean to come off as blunt this is my honest to god opinion. We had a party of 8 and almost every single one of us had something wrong with our order. My Father got a triple Decker which PSA:: actually a double Decker. He got a side salad and he asked for a thousand island. IT TOOK 3 times for the waitress to get the correct dressing which was ridiculous, My sister's french dip came with no dip after we asked twice. My Mothers croissant of ham and cheese came with tartar sauce??? Maybe it was my waitress but although it had great prices for okay food my overall experience was NOT something that was enjoyable. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I had been traveling a lot and only eating fast food so we were very happy to find this place. We were stuck in town with car issues so we needed something close- this was it and we were very pleased. There was a wait, as to be expected, considering what time we came but we were still seated very fast. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. We both ordered breakfast items and they were delicious! I always love corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast! Our waitress made sure we were taken care of, enjoying our meals, and stocked up on drinks, jelly for toast, cream, and anything else we needed. Considering we were stuck in our hotel, we ordered to go meals as well for later. We had to wait a bit, but did not mind. We were so happy with our meals and appreciative of the service, I just had to leave a tip of what the bill was. It made me very happy that the hostess up front was so surprised and appreciated it. Everyone working was so kind and it was just such a good experience. It may look dated inside and have cosmetic issues, but it was very clean overall and a great time for each of us. Would love to return if we are ever in the area! The portions were fairly large and we were not complaining, and especially for the price! For 4 meals and additional drinks, our bill only came to about $30. Very worth visiting.

Advertised as gluten free but they are not. Service was good.

Great place to eat! French fries are amazing. Should post the time Prime Rib is available though if you have it on special menu. We were there at 1:30pm and couldn't get it yet.

Came to get our order seconds after we sat down. Did not give us time to even breathe let alone look at the menu and then once we were ready we we're like a ghost town. Coffee was never refiled like requested and food was not cooked correctly and was treated awkwardly on the way out.
