This place is genuine. They are so busy providing quality food at a decent price, they haven't taken time to redecorate, thank goodness. Friendly, fast and great prices, paid in cash. Have to go back soon.

This diner is from another time and place, a memory of the grimy New York of eighties and nineties. How it has survived the changing neighborhood around it is a mystery to me, but I'm grateful it still exists. Breakfast all day, cash only, linoleum floor and tables, always packed on weekends since all the locals know it's cheap and fast eats. Eat outside on warm, sunny days and enjoy the tasty pancakes, French toast, burgers and more. Chili, rice and beans and other warm up the soul food in the winter. I hope Bobbonniere thrives and survives the future changes for many years to come!!!

Literally basic diner food. Fried eggs have no flavor, the pancakes are as you expect, and the coffee is bland. That being said I feel we all have a special place in our heart for food like that when it's early and you just need to have breakfast.

This is an original pancake

This is an original pancake
FLUFFY GOLDEN BROWN PANCAKES with BACON $ 8.75, a long-established diner founded in 1975 (it's cheap in NY)
Upon entering the store, NYPD policemen were having breakfast, and it was like a scene from a movie combined with a classic environment.
Most of the menus are cooked on griddle (iron plate), so the service is very fast and this is breakfast.
Three fluffy, lightly baked pancakes are stacked.
Since it was a great destination, I had a lot of syrup.
Anyway, the first person to add crunchy bacon is a genius.
.
The staff are all friendly.
It's delicious! If you tell me, yes, it's really popular. It's really crowded on weekends! He seemed proud.
It is the same in Tokyo that redevelopment is progressing and the number of private stores is decreasing rapidly, but I hope that it will continue.

What a beautiful shining star among all the passing fads of Lower Manhattan. A dear friend of mine had the chance, many years ago, to travel into space. As he passed through the layers of our atmosphere and into orbit, he pulled himself to the window to look down upon Earth and spotted a small shining light somewhere to the West of the Long Island Peninsula. Upon further inspection, we later concluded that this beautiful shining light was La Bonbonniere, a beacon of hope so strong that it can be seen from space. Well done, my friends!

Good! I think the charm of the place might ve gotten a bit lost in the outdoor dining experience during covid, but there s still something so nostalgic and comforting about the vibes at a barebones classic diner, most important of which is the menu. No avocado toast or matcha lattes, but you will find some great omelettes, pancakes, and bacon.

Worth a stop whenever you re craving some good old diner food in the Village. Make sure you bring cash because they don t take card.

What an amazing little breakfast restaurant. Was in the area early for a meeting and the stomach was calling for some food. Found this gem quickly by looking on Google Maps. Got here after 9 so plenty of seats available. I had the Corn Beef Hash which was delicious and I ordered a slice of their famous French Toast which was out of this world. The walls are adorned with pictures of celebreties who have been here, the service was super fast and the kitchen is right in front of you so you get to watch them make your food. I would highly recommend visiting La Bonbonniere. I will have to come back and try their lunch and/or dinner.

Try the avocado omelette with sausages, corn beef hash, home fries and banana pancakes and a strawberry milkshake to top it off, You will not go wrong. Fast service , great staff, and food is excellent. Best diner in the west village by far maybe top 5 in all NYC.

Such a cute local place! Everyone comes in here locals and tourist. Fits about 30-40 people and on the weekend sometimes there is a wait but usually you can get seated right away. Food is quick to come out but everything on the menu is delicious. Definite must go.

My wife and I have come here each time we visit New York and the food is always amazing. Service is fast and blunt but they get through a lot of orders quick and well. Hands down the best French toast made on Challa bread.

La Bonbonniere has always been a neighborhood favorite, and today was the first time we decided to give it a try. It was amazing. We sat at the counter, the service was extremely efficient and I was amazed watching the two guys prepare breakfast for all the patrons at a very busy service.

I had a coffee and chocolate chip pancakes and my buddy had the grilled chicken sandwich. We were both very pleased. This place is not very expensive, quick and the food is delicious. Go here and you'll be happy. Cash only.

Went for breakfast. Very friendly service. Good people. Unfortunately it's cash only and that's always an inconvenience when you're a tourist. Prices are high for the small portions. Left hungry and that's frustrating.

If you are in NYC, this is a place you don t want to miss!! Best French Toast ever!! Their Hamburgers are delish!! All Their soaps are made from scratch and so rich in flavor.
Costas and Marina are the nicest and welcoming owners that once you go in they make you feel at home.

classic classic classic

love American diners that do it right and that's all you're gonna get from here. looking for crispy has from the dark corners of the griddle? you got it. want some exceptional sandwich or French toast? you got it.

forget all these bougie and simplified and over priced brunch menus out there. invest in your local diner and appreciate the nostalgia of an institution of nyc. this place is that.

Great little diner with amazing prices. It was hard to find something close to where I was staying where I could get food at a decent price and then I found La Bonbonniere and was very pleasantly surprised.

Best damn greasy spoon in the City. Only the food is not greasy. Neither are the spoons. Awesome brekky whether you re recovering from a night out, refueling after a long morning run, or as I made a habit when still living in the City after the annual polar bear plunge in Coney Island. Killer pancakes and challah French toast. Amazing bacon. Awesome omelettes. Decent coffee.

A place that is completely worth the detour! The storefront doesn't look like much, but it's good !! In New York everything is expensive but I find that for the quality it is quite reasonable. Waiters not very smiling but pleasant all the same and always at your service. In addition everything is homemade, I will return without any hesitation!

Excellent! Yummy and greasy buttery, just what I needed!!! They were really busy for a Monday late afternoon but worth the extra wait for coffee. It looks like they are understaffed but great place!

A little piece of New York history, this ~110 year old greasy spoon is a New York icon. Great comfort food cooking and simple settings will keep me coming back here until I die. Maybe avoid the bathroom though.

Waiter was very inattentive and rude to us, while being friendly to all other (frequent?) customers. Maybe because he has the assumption we are tourists who don't tip generously? In any case, he created a self-fulfilling prophecy because we didn't tip and will never come back

I really enjoyed the food here. I would suggest the french toast with well home fries! The bacon was crunchy but I prefer the greasier undercooked kind so I wouldn't order that again. The sauage seemed like Jimmy Dean frozen sausage, so I would pass on that too, though it was cooked perfectly. The egg plates looked delicious but haven't tried one yet. I'll definitely be going back. CASH ONLY!

This place is a total hole in the wall but they are very busy. I'm going to try it again but I wasn't overly impressed with what I got. I had the chili and spaghetti I ordered it because it seemed a little weird but it kind of tasted just like a meat pasta with heavier meat. I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything incredible. My wife got their French toast with challah bread and that was really tasty. Not much space to wait around but we got a table pretty quickly even though we had to stand right in front of the exit while we waited. I'm not in a rush to try it again but I'll probably be back.

Also I can not agree with the predominantly positive rating! The store is extremely grubby, inside it is, due to the odor, almost an impertinence. The coffee was ok but expensive ($ 3.25 for a filter coffee served in a small teacup!). No recommendation.

best restaurant i ve been in nyc! such good food and even better prices. Also, you can seat! which is extremely rare to find a place like that in this city and when you are touristing comes in handy. I ordered chicken parmesan spaghetti and these huge plates came for only 15$. Loved it! Would recommend 10/10

So glad I found this place, our hotel is in Times Square and every place is either a deli or pizza place. So we found this little slice of heaven for a homecooked breakfast only 10 mins from our hotel.

Great little place with delicious breakfast/brunch...

Great little place with delicious breakfast/brunch foods pretty much anything you could expect from a classic New York City diner but most everything is much higher quality than any other diner. Definitely get the french toast, which is among the best I ve ever tried.

My only complaints are that the tables are packed a bit too tightly for the space (sometimes making it difficult to get in and out of your seat) and that it can get hot in that space during the summer to the point of sweating.
