Absolutely amazing place, a very traditional diner...

Decent food but nothing special. The cash only policy ruins it. Plenty of other good places and better in the city that aren't cash only.
This place is amazing such friendly people and the coffee is the best
This place is awesome. Local WV spot with fantastic prices, service, and quality food. Most people come to the WV and skip this place which makes it a fantastic spot for locals.
The meat loaf is awesome. The gravy reminds you of home. There's some veggies because we all know none of us is eating enough of them.
Great spot to have a quiet meal before you go out for a night or to reflect on Americana in general. This place closes somewhat early on Friday nights, so come early and fill up.
Great place for breakfast. It's small and crowded, but not to worry - they know exactly who's next. Food was tasty and quick and the coffee was great. Can't beat the small joint ambiance.
great omelette and service for a very very affordable place. dont forget you can only pay with cash...
Classic american diner food, at a good price, with a real history and personality
Great NYC diner food, fast, and delicious. Solid price too.
Foods are good but honestly I'm not a big fan of open kitchen because it makes my coat smell
You eat GREAT Mexican food only in cash good prices attention 10.
Fantastic food and great value. The pancakes were delicious. Breakfast here was so good we visited twice during our holiday and would love to return in future.
A real NY spirit, delicious food, good price and well located. Staff is friendly, terrace outside, good and fresh products
The place to eat in New York City. It's a rule that you eat where the cops eat as they only eat the tastiest food. Good luck getting a seat here as the whole of NYPD goes here. The food is cheap and fantastic. It's greasy and perfect. I always go with a ham, egg, and cheese and here, you can't go wrong.
God service. Food is served quick. Great atmosphere and awesome french toast
These are the breakfast guys only not sure if they pack it in for dinner my gut feeling is no but high on breakfast
Very good traditional american breakfast. Fast service and good prices
The secret here is, the best people, everything homemade, and the best fries
Traditional New York diner but the quality of the food is back in the sixties. Over cooked vegetables and bland meatballs. C'mon guys, standards have moved on even in this type of place. Admittedly it's cheap but that's not enough to recommend it.
Food was average but the cook who is also the waiter was rude to everyone including us
Won't go back to much of a Hassel
Lots of options (not many vegetarian). Affordable. Big quantities. Nice atmosphere outside. Stood in line for 15 min.
Waiter was rude. When I asked for a coffee refill sitting at the counter, the waiter told me to "just wait" in a loud voice. Embarrassing experience.
Authentic American Diner in the middle of New York city
Dont miss the French Toast and bacon
You wouldn't like this place, unless you like good food and good service. And hey, because of the global pandemic you get to eat on the sidewalk. Take that DeBLOWSio. Got him!
The waitstaff were incredibly rude. About ten minutes after delivering our water and first checking if we were ready to order the waiter came back. When we said we weren't ready and asked for another minute, he proceeded to scold us for not knowing what we wanted and complained that there were other people waiting for tables. We got him to leave us to decide on our orders, but then thirty seconds later another waiter came out, ready to yell at us further, asking if we needed to read every word and price on the menu to know what we wanted. My friend and I promptly left and we won't ever be returning. We still can't believe how poorly we were treated.
There are plenty of delicious and reasonably priced restaurants in this neighborhood, don't bother with this one.
Very good. I love the guys who work here, they're so friendly! I was only in the city for a couple of days, but I had to come back twice!
Love to come here for brunch on the weekends! It s no frills, quick and friendly service, and always a guaranteed tasty meal. It gets busy but had no trouble getting a seat around 1/2pm. French toast and pancakes are very popular here but love the omelettes or sandwiches as well! Also reminder that this place is Cash only!
Loved this place (featired in Marvelous Mrs. Msisel)
The atmosphere is as good as the food here. Authentic and appears to have the seal of approval of local law enforcement as police officers were dropping past for a coffee or their breakfast ..... an enjoyable experience and breakfast!
Easily my favorite place to get corned beef hash on a lazy Saturday!
Great breakfast that is reasonably priced. Quick service allows for easy table turnover to reduce wait times. A hidden gem in West Village
The CBGB of NYC diners, still rockin' greasy. Sit up front, enjoy a great Lima bean soup or breakfast sandwich and walk away smelling like the grill. There's not many spots like this left in the city. Not for foodies, for people.
Fantastic food and great value. The pancakes were delicious. Breakfast here was so good we visited twice during our holiday and would love to return in future.
I've been coming here almost every weekend the past few months, and this place never disappoints. A great, no frills diner with fast service and delicious food. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's my go-to in the West Village - highly recommend the French toast!
Great food. Cozy. Hit the spot in all the right ways :)
Very down to earth diner. Very friendly and popular with NYPD, so you are safe as well,
Delicious diner food. Had the famous French toast with bacon which was amazing.
As of August 2018 cash only. Great little diner with outdoor seating and very friendly staff. Food is reliably good, but nothing fancy. Has outdoor seating.
Great food, great authentic atmosphere but staff overwhelm
I work in the area and every time I eat here the food Is good however they ignore me and give me horrible service while providing good service for other clients. Honestly get a very homophobic vibe in here and feel very uncomfortable and have been told the same thing from other gay friends working in the area.
Great breakfast, cheap food, quintessential NY experience.
Great breakfast but very crowded and service was poor
French toast was amazing. I love the old school feel here. And they never let your coffee go empty!!

Kind of like Waffle House (in a good way). Menu is huge. Cash only.
Not the place to bring a fussy eater (looking at you veggie/vegans.) Everything is cooked together on the same grill and only one of the staff was wearing gloves. Your menu sticks to the counter, but take all that as a good sign. No frills breakfast offering gs will leave you full and satisfied. Absolutely delicious option for classic breakfast and greasy spoon brunch. #nydiner #diner
We waited a little bit for our server although its not a bad price to pay when sitting outside. The coffee was good and the pancakes were standard. It felt and tasted like a place that's consistent. We'll see whats up on our second trip.
Already dreaming about next weekend when I can come back for those pancakes! Sitting at the bar rail makes for free entertainment watching the grill master
This was my favorite diner in NYC when I lived there. I would often make the trek down from midtown at lunch to have the Challah bread french toast and a side of grits when I was in the mood for some comfort food.
Service was also extremely friendly and fast. I never left there without feeling full and happy.
Awesome little diner in the west village, it's filled with picture of known and unknown celebrities. It has that true diner feel to it, the staff is super friendly, the food is good and the service is fast. The prices are very reasonable for the area. The curb side seating is good to enjoy their blend coffee and people watch.
Best brunch spot ever!!! Try chilly and cheese omelet(doesn't look fancy, but don't judge by the cover), you will meet another level of simple new taste brunch, and the coffee is exceptionally good for the price. Hands down, my new favorite place!!!
Went here in my big American trip a few years back. Loved it. Wonderful food great prices. Fantastic service and staff.
Fair. Not much attention given when I walked in. It was not at all busy, so it wasn't because of that.
Little care given to fried eggs... splat and flat. Granted I asked for well-done. But looked like they were thrown on the pan.
Hash browns tasted watery... only way I could think to describe them. Tasteless, I guess, until salting them 4 times.
Rye toast was heavily buttered and thus, delicious, even though I asked for lightly buttered.
Felt like no one in the place cared... blaaah.
Gave me no reason to want to return.
Love this place! And even now during Covid they are still great. I usually have French toast, but I had a good ole BLT today. Bacon was fresh and not overcooked, toast was just right.
Outdoor seating area was nicely covered from the sun with adequate spacing btwn tables. They will always have a special place in my heart!
Sometimes I find myself still thinking about the breakfast I had here during my brief trip to New York.
The restaurant is small yet efficient. It took at most two minutes to receive our food after ordering. Everything was cooked to order and tasted fantastic.
One of the last real diners of nyc. Bacon egg an cheese is exactly what it should be. Griddle turns out some amazing bfast items and even late night eating will make you feel good. People who don t like this diner - don t understand food.
I WAS WORKING AROUND THE CORNER FROM THERE AND BOUGHT SOME BREAKFAST AND IT WAS GOOD CANT COMPLAIN!!
Old style diner in a great NYC neighborhood. The French toast was wonderful. Prices were excellent.
Utterly ordinary place, which is its charm. The food is nothing special and quite expensive for what you get, but nice atmosphere.
A gem in the West Village. A place that reminds you good breakfast at humane prices can exist in a city as opulent as NYC. For those of us that cherish our blue collar roots, this will surely tap into a classic nostalgia: the sleepy diner you ate at before work at 6AM, the same diner you ate at after a Friday night movie because it s the only 24-Hour place in town, or the small diner cafe you went to with friends Sunday morning to chat about last night s party... whatever your diner memories may be, the wonderful La Bonbonniere will give you a rare comfort that s mostly lost in today s Manhattan.
I highly recommend this place if you are visiting New York and want a delicious breakfast. Portions are generous. Food is tasty. The price is reasonable, and most importantly service is quick and friendly. The waitress was courteous and patient.
You cannot visit this place without trying their French Toast--it is very Delicious! The bacon is extra tasty.
Visit the place without hesitation.
Amazing breakfast (get the famous French toast ), decently priced and no frills, relaxed atmosphere
There is a very thoroughly authentic neighborhood feeling to this place. It just serves diner food, but it does so very quickly without fail. Always a pleasure to get some eggs and toast. Don't expect anything fancier than any other diner. Mildly overpriced, but you can't really get cheap food in the West Village.
