This is it. Ground zero for one of America's greatest lifestyle brands. The world HQ for LL Bean is sprawling. Buildings dedicated to the outdoor adventure vs. Hiking/camping. Vs. decking out your house with the quitensial Maine aesthetic (beachy comfort at it's finest). Warning: pretty easy to find you've spent hours wandering through building after building.

We stopped in for a bite and the hostess took our name for a table. Another group came in and the hostess decided to seat them. We were standing right next to the hostess when she did that and then she apologised.

Great place to spend the day. You or your kids won't be dissapointed. Stand behind their products. Awesome customer service. Even sent a follow up letter when my child got a very minor injury there... I have never had a place care so much about its customers .

The Bean's catalog is a handy tool for finding clothing and household items. The store in Freeport ME reflects items found in the catalog. Unfortunately, I was not overly impressed with the quality of the merchandise; it was only OK; the selection was mediocre. While we did purchase some items, they were not necessary or immediate purchases -- most were gifts.

It is amazing! It doesn't feel vast like some department store or Wal-mart because it feels like it has grown slowly over time, expanding consistently as the company did. There are different rooms and areas for different departments and they have employees in each section that are there to answer your questions. They decorate well for the holidays and keep the place clean. Outside they have the giant L.L. Bean boot that you can take pictures by and they even set up a yurt and had free hot chocolate and had live reindeer there. Another thing that is really cool is that this place is open 24 hours which apparently has been a tradition from back in the day because Mr. L.L. himself wanted to be available for all the hunters who were leaving super early in the morning.

All you need to #beanoutsider - including a trout pond! Flagship store has all you need & friendly service. Lots of taxidermy animals to check out. Great place to explore whether shopping for something new or to entertain young kids on a rainy day. Great summer concert series. Fun winter outdoor village.

Huge!

Ok I'm not happy with LL. For many years things were just fine. I recently had to return an item and for the first time ever I was told I needed a receipt. The item had been purchased before they changed their return policy but they would not honor the prior guarantee. Be aware, if you purchase something from LL keep the receipt and know after one year the item can't be returned. The prices have always been too high but the guarantee balanced things. Not now. LL I think has made a big mistake. Time to shop elsewhere.

Open 24/7, the flagship store is actually several different buildings, which contain a wide selection of the companies offerings. Tons to look at, and some cool displays, like an indoor fish pond, an aquarium that is interactive for kids, and tons of taxidermied animals.

The mothership! The newer fishing and hunting wing has everything for the hunter and angler. Clothing is great, as always. Books, camping, and pet stuff seem to be lacking and very unkempt. Go across the green to the home store. Dang! Wonderful.

Always a pleasure stopping at a LL Bean location and this one is no different. Such a great place to visit every time we come to Maine. Each building on the "campus" has its own specialty - home, clothing, fishing, etc. We never leave empty handed and always look forward to coming back.

LL Bean puts on many events for the public throughout the year. See the concerts in the summer and we went to the pumpkin display for a Camp Sunshine event where 7000 pumpkins were carved and lit allalong the grounds. Stop inside 24/7/365 to shop for some of the best quality clotjes and outdoor supplies. My kids always have to check out the live fish and taxidermy animals, including 2 interlocked moose who sadly died with their antlers trapped into each other. Many other great places to shop and eat along the street, too.

We stop here every time we visit Maine. The store is incredible! We never leave disappointed but crowds around the holidays and leaf peeping season in the fall can get pretty big. Amazingly the store seems to handle them easily, but the checkout lines can get a little long. Get here early to ensure you have the best experience.

Terrible customer service in the firearms section. Sales associate that helped us, Pete, was not knowledgeable at all about completing the purchase for an out of state resident. Kept going out back and coming to ask more questions multiple times. An hour and a half of double triple and quadruple checking after that. Another customer was in and out, paying for his rifle, in 30 min. whereas my friend and I stood around waiting endlessly. Go to Kittery Trading Post instead. Better selection, prices, knowledge and process.

Definitely not the outdoors store it once was. It is now more of a clothing store for the fashion conscious. Is you are looking for camping, hunting and fishing gear go to Cabela's. I never in a million years thought I would say that.
