Sunday night at the L'Atelier Ground Floor was a perfect ending to a busy week. I can't praise the service enough. Our Waiter knew his wines and his recommendations were uncannily close to my preferences (for French wine). The advice on how many plates to order was spot on. Presentation was faultless and taste was incredible. We were unhurried and felt relaxed and satisfied throughout.

Obviously the show piece was Le Burger. What can you say about such perfection? Very, very, pleased we ordered 1 each otherwise it would have been the end of a good friendship with a bad tempered food fight! We were lucky to catch the end of the white truffle season, and although this added to the bill somewhat, the truffle shavings were generous and transformed excellent dishes into masterpieces.

Only fault, if I could say, was the ambient music. the sound loop varied in volume and style a little too much and some songs were just plain wrong. Added to that I visited the bar a few nights later (the bar is a hidden gem with attentive and highly qualified bartenders who know their cocktails all too well) and was subjected to the same sound loop. But hey ho, mustn't grumble, L'Atelier is certainly a place for food and rink and good company I'll keep coming back to.

Absolutely stunning food - the mashed potato alone defies description! Very stylish surroundings and super friendly and attentive front of house staff. Ate at the bar - fascinating to watch the chefs. Chose from their pre-theatre menu (served from 5.30pm) and it was very speedy and efficient.

Dear Emma,

Dear Emma,

If I had to explain the reason

Why I find you so pretty and sweet

I would explain it by saying

That you are my heart s beat

If I had to describe you in a few words

I wouldn t say sexy or amazing

I would describe you with the phrase

You re my reason for being

I love you from the bottom of my heart,
Nuno Gomes.

Got an amazing deal on a set menu for a 5 course tasting lunch. The sauted crab starter and quail mains were the highlights. The staff are lovely and helpful, we were dining with our baby girl and the staff were very sweet with her.
We've been to this restaurant a few times, which is unusual for me because I usually like to keep trying new places, but L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon is good enough to keep me coming back!

Absolutely wonderful. The food is exquisite and delicious, and the setting is a great combination of both being trendy, but not noisy and very relaxing. But most of all, and what this town more often than not gets completely wrong, is the service. The staff is extremely attentive, oriented to small details, both formal and casual, and makes you really feel like you are the center of attention. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a lovely night out.

Mashed potatoes are definetly to die for... Can be used to butter your bread!!!

Great service with the chef preparing the food in front of you. Very fun evening. Though be careful with the wine pairing as the pour are very generous.

I am a big fan of Joel Robuchon in Shanghai. When I arrived in London, it was during restaurant week, so I decided to eat directly!
The store is much smaller than the one in Shanghai, but you can intuitively see the chef's skillful cooking and the careful presentation of the dishes inside! The 7 courses package is actually paired with a special wine list. Each dish has a corresponding wine to make the flavor better. I drank a wine recommended by the waiter that was not on the wine list.
The staff said that this is a Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils from Burgundy, located in Chassagne-Montrachet. The flavor is rich, the taste is soft, and the structure is relatively balanced. I personally like its aroma!
The pre-dinner bread is different from Shanghai's. It is a very hard whole bread. The butter makes the middle part of the bread very fluffy. The taste is superb!
Duck liver mousse
As in Shanghai, there will be a duck liver mousse at the beginning. It is divided into three layers, the upper foam is very delicate, the middle Angus sauce, the entrance feels very delicate!
LE CAVIAR
Oscietra caviar, smoked herring, crispy buckwheat and buttermilk ice cream
Selected caviar and smoked herring, the surface is cold and delicate, like ice cream, and there is no fishy taste. It is super enjoyable!
LA LANGOUSTINE
Langoustine and basil in crispy angel hair, mango and passion fruit
The langoustine and basil are mixed in the inside of the roll, and the surface layer is like hair-like surroundings. The taste is crispy and not greasy. The mango juice sauce is also very beautiful when embellished. From the big to the small, it is a test of skill. The salad on the left is very good. If the staff hadn't asked me to enjoy this salad, I might not have paid too much attention to it. I tried the sour and sour taste, which was great!
LE FOIE GRAS
Seared foie gras, Granny Smith apple and hibiscus
This dish is my favorite of the whole audience. The fried foie gras at the bottom is smooth, not particularly oily, and the taste is quite amazing. The upper Hibiscus has a sour and sour taste that is very neutral. In addition, the presentation is quite a plus!
LE BAR
Wild sea bass, variation of fennel, garlic and bouillabaisse sauce
The whole layout is particularly beach-side, and the stacking feeling of sand and shells is like a work of art. Fresh wild sea bass, the surface is crispy, the fish is tender and delicious, the flavor of fennel in the sauce is not strong, the taste of the seafood itself is fully revealed!
L'AGNEAU DE LAIT
Milk-fed lamb cutlets, confit garlic and thyme
This lamb chop is served with classic JR mashed potatoes. Unlike Shanghai Bund No.18, their mashed potatoes are not as good as Shanghai, but the texture is dense and full of butter and happiness! The flavours of lamb, garlic and thyme blend very well!
L'ANANAS
Earl Grey sorbet, pineapple and citrus confit with fresh verbena
Finally, these two small snacks are also pleasing to the eye, and the foamy design looks very "Michelin." It is common for Britons to drink a glass of Breakfast Tea or Earl Grey in the morning, so it is not unusual for Earl Grey to be served.
LA PRUNE
Variations of Plum and tarragon with Mirabelle plum sorbet
I like the presentation of this dish. The taste of plums is sour and sour, and the green tarragon cut makes the taste smooth and enjoys the ultimate taste!
At the end of the meal, there will be small snacks. The black chocolate that is not shown in the photo is very mellow and I like it!

Although JR s per capita is a little more expensive than the average one-star Michelin, its service attitude and overall dining experience are really super comfortable! When you go to experience it, you must feel their little details, they all conceal the restaurant's caution! I believe you will not be disappointed!
Only JR can't live up to it!

One of my favourite restaurants in London, however as of lately I noticed a negative change in both food quality and service.

On our latest visit we were seated upstairs. I was poured a glass of water which had bits of dirt in it. When asked about it the waitress quickly changed the glass however wasn't too bothered about it. Additionally, some of the waiters were loudly having a conversation on personal topics right next to us, which was a bit informal for a restaurant of this calibre.

The food is always of the highest standard. I'm not sure if they have changed the chef but it has slightly changed the past year. I still very much enjoyed it, however some of the dishes were a bit cold.

Service was charming, food of an extremely high quality as one would expect... and priced accordingly. If you have the budget to dine here (or someone else is paying) is well worth the visit. Flavours on most dishes were extremely well thought through and balanced. Miniature lamb cutlets and creamy mash (presumably made through chinois) were exquisite.

Amazing food in a very cool setting where, with the right table, you can watch the chefs work their magic. The mix-you-own tasting menu style means you can experience some really wonderful variety over dinner. Staff are extremely good, both on the floor and behind the bar. The cocktails are excellent, and the wine list is also pretty good. The stools at the bar may not be to everyones comfort.

Great!

Great!

I went for the smaller taster menu this afternoon and I quite enjoyed it. I would definitely like to try the larger taster menu next time I go.

I was a bit disappointed that the loos were not up to the same standard as the restaurant and its food - I think it wouldn't hurt to have cleaner loos with high end soaps for the prices that they are charging, however, overall I cannot complain about the attention to detail in the restaurant, the atmosphere, the taste of the food, the service and timing and the overall team effort - all of which stood out as exceptional.

In respect to the Michelin-star food, I would like to have seen a little more effort on the presentation of some dishes: if I need to fiddle with it myself (including using my napkin to get rid of splatters and smudges), in order to take a better photo, then it's not really at the level of perfection I'm expecting for the price. As you can see from the Mackerel photo that I attach, the fish was slightly smudged on the plate. A little more care could have avoided this. - That being said, the taste was phenomenal.

Absolutely fantastic, fine dining at its best, elements added to dishes not because they must, but because they can, and they taste all the better as a result. Can't recommend highly enough, especially if dining alone, where the atmosphere and seating arrangement make it an ideal place to eat alone.

Here s the story:

Here s the story:
I booked the table for a friend who was proposing to his girlfriend. I was told a special table was offered upon booking. The father of my friend went to the restaurant to prepay for the bill of his son and upon arrival it turned out no special table was booked.

When my friend arrived in the restaurant there was no special table, no champagne at the table and the waiter actually asked them what would they like to drink!! My friend then had to explain himself and say his Dad had already paid for champagne and a bottle of wine.

I strongly recommend it!

Pros
- Food is great and decent portions
- Good service
- Open kitchen
- Good promos and menus you can visit their websites

Cons
- I'm not a fan of the decoration a bit dark
- Pretty expensive for what it is (I'd suggest to go at lunch time there is an offer at 29 pounds at the moment).

Overpriced, strange experience... Their main feature is bar seating where you can see the chefs working in the kitchen. It is, of course, very entertaining - the attention they put in every tiniest detail! Oh, look, how he is slicing that fantastic steak... Wait, did he just throw it to the bin?!
You can see how much they are wasting. Tossing these finest ingredients in the trash. Quite disturbing... And yes, the prices are outrageous. 40, 50 pounds for a starter? 17 pounds for a cocktail that lasted me 3 sips and was finished, because the glass is just filled with ice? No...
Food was excellent.
Service felt a bit too much - asking 3 times if everything is going well while we are eating 1 taster plate (there was 1 scallop on my plate, and I already told you it was good, why ask again and again?). Taking the plates away literally as soon as you put your fork down. And no spacing between courses - I felt like we were just constantly chewing for 2 hours.

The place is magical. Book early, well in advance !! Eat the tasting menu with strong inspiration in sea dishes. A delight for the eyes and palate. Sit at the counter and take a closer look at the kitchen movement and Chef's instructions. It is definitely an experience not to be missed in London !!

Inadequate ventilation with a full open kitchen, at least 8 tables too close to it with lots of smoke, when we got back to our hotel we smelled like smoked meat and fat in hair, body and clothing! Not very interesting when u have just paid London fees for a wash and styling ! Place was indeed just another European Bistro and didnt look upscale at all. Cocktails were at the cheap cocktail bar levels but with high price. There was no dress code, made it not special at all, they said no trainers but people were there even with jogging cloths !!
We had dinner with prior reservation, and chose for the 8th course tasting menu of 149 GBP per person exclusive drinks. Every single one of them was delicious however it was to me indeed nothing innovative or sofisticated and not at Michelin level. It was as miniature French Bistro food with a touch of Asian here and Indian there. Service was fast and good however there was quite mechanical and they were in much hurry, you wouldn't be told at each tasting course what the course was and if u asked was very fast answer like : Fish or quail:). Kitchen staff were amazing, working so hard but looking at them would break your heart , in 3-4 hours we were there, not one of these 8-10 staff including chef smiled, they looked unhappy and overstressed. You almost felt guilty to be there as a cause for such unhappiness ! So do i go there again? No!

The second you step into the restaurant you notice...

The second you step into the restaurant you notice that it's a French restaurant as you are greeted in French.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and relaxing. The light is dimmed and if are sitting on the ground floor you may follow the kitchen in every step of creating the beautiful and delicious servings.
The restaurant offers a la carte menu as well as a 5/8 course experience menu. The 8 course experience menu is in fact a 10 course menu if you count in the extra servings.
The presentation of the food on the beautiful plates is unique and nothing is random as the head chef is checking every detail before a waiter is bringing the plate to a table.
The taste of every bit is unique and three mix of different cuisines make the food even more interesting. A big applause to the head chef.
Unfortunately there wasn't a matching wine menu and the waiter had to suggest a few wines which was okay.
The service was in top from the second I entered to I left and the restaurant manager shook my hand and thanked me for visiting them.
This has been one of my better fine dinning experiences among many.
Total price for one person 230 GBP

My husband and I visited here as our first post wedding star. Service was excellent, and the London Restaurant Month menu we had was outstanding value. Some people online have mentioned being rushed, but we certainly didn't feel that and we were able to relax and spend as much time as we wanted at our bar table without any pressure to leave. Bar seats are brilliant as you get to see what is going on in the kitchen. They were also very comfortable, which we were not expecting when we found we were at the bar (which was highlighted upon booking) We regularly eat at Michelin star restaurants, and this was certainly on-par with others we have been to, although not the best which is why it gets 4 stars rather than 5. Others perhaps would say 5, and I think it there were an option for an additional 1/2 star I would give it, as it was excellent, just not my number 1 Michelin star restaurant. Service was attentive but not intrusive. I do think the highlight for us was seeing the kitchen staff working. The quail stuffed with foie gras and served with truffle mash was the stand out dish for us both; it really was delightful and despite looking like small portions we both found the meal very filling.

The food here is simply amazing, ingredients cooked flawlessly by chef in front of your eyes. Highly recommend a table at the counter so you can observe what's happening.
We went for lunch which was great value 39 pound for entree, main and desert. Comes with a glass of wine and also tea and coffee at the end.
Our waiter was so nice and gave us each a serving of their famous mash because we were on our honeymoon.

We were rushed on arrival, then we had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to the bar as the lift was broken. There were fruit flies everywhere which was disgusting. I complained about this and the lady said she could not understand where they were coming from but had been a problem for the counter. The third course was brought up while we were still eating the second and just left on the counter. The sommelier would not let my wife taste a red that she wanted as she said we only sell it by the bottle! The dishes were placed in front of us without any explanation of what we were about to eat. Then to top it all off (and I could write a lot more about the bad points) I ordered 2 Irish coffees. When they finally arrived the cream had totally mixed into the coffee. The excuse we were given was that the long walk down from the bar with the coffees had disturbed the drink. I sent them back and the second attempt was exactly the same.

The food was ok, but just ok. I think this restuarant has gone massively down hill since the last time we went. Tread with caution of you are looking for a dining experience as you will get this indeed!! The people next to us left without paying at all.

This was possibly the worst meal we have had for a long time and certainly not worthy of Michelin recognition. We will definitely not be recommending this restuarant. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants throughout the south of England but were extremely disappointed.

Had the most amazing wedding anniversary meal here. The lobster, the scallops, the additional blood orange popping candy ice cream on a stick we got served, the 'liquid' parmesan, they were all amazing. What was more amazing was the mint chocolate souffle - one of the best deserts, probably the best one I have tasted in my life and I'm not even a desert person. The service was immaculate too with great attention to detail (popped to the ladies and came back to find my napkin folded back on the table) and some of the staff even bilingual. Would love to go back.

Very disappointing experience. We booked dinner for 9 pm and we didn't get our table until 10.45! Service overall was very poor. The check in process took forever and we had to call for help repetedaly to find out about what was happening with our table. Eventually we got our table but service did not get any better. We got our menus but had to wait a long time and actually called a waiter to get an explanation on the menu and recommendations. Even though we got an apology from the manager, his handling of the whole situation and compensation was also dissapointing. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Food was good but nothing you cannot find in many other restaurants in london with much better service.
