Absolutely tremendous meal. They are extremely masterful on the grill, order whatever grilled fish they offer on the list of specials. The grilled Branzino was superb, which was accompanied by grilled shrimp and also had an appetizer of grilled calamari all of which was cooked to perfection. A++. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

I highly suggest to come eat here. I am from California and we don't have Italian food like that on the west coast. Everyone treated us as a part of their family. It was a great experience and I will coming back whenever I am in Philly.

Honestly the food was bland.. the duck over cooked and they didn't even have extra parsley for the simplest of Italian dishes. The calamari was also overrcooked if it was even real.. And the wait staff took much much much to long... Best thing about the night... the water..

Excellent authentic Italian cuisine, eggplant appetizer was light, sauce delicate, flavor was superb, a must try if you like eggplant. Grilled to perfection, the calamari app had a tenderness and flavor which was outstanding. My main dish, the linguine with shellfish was flavorful, my only comment, mussels were on the small side, overall sauce was light, and melded perfectly with my pasta. For dessert, try the cheesecake, wow, even the crust was exceptional. In total, it's definitely one of the best restaurants in South Philly, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent pasta selection, indeed the simple, straightforward menu was packed with great choices. Cozy, modest size dining area. Knowledgeable wait staff. Reasonable prices. It's a South Philly Italian restaurant, you know what your gettin'. BYOB. One odd feature of the dining area was, given the room was packed with boisterous patrons, the noise level remained at a decibel range that allowed pleasant conversation. Almost like there was a noise canceling system in place, what a lovely treat.

What a fabulous hidden gem. We really have to thank our friends to taking us there. We shared the artichokes and mushrooms appetizers. They both were delicious. I then had the gnochi with truffle cream sauce, which was a delight. Salted caramel gelatto was the seal to the decision return soon to sample more delicious food. And besides the food, the service was really splendid. You really get the attention of the staff.

Classic Italian place in So Phila. It s been around for years. Have great variety on the menu and several daily specials as well. It a small space and very popular so make a reservation.

Love that it s a BYO.

It can be tight and crowded, but it s a fun place. Classics like gnocchi, Paso buck and eggplant Parmesan as well as more modern dishes like farro with burrata. Everything is fresh. Sometimes the kitchen gets busy.

Food was excellent! I had the mussels appetizer and lobster ravioli entree and it was too die for! Unfortunately, the service was not as good as it should have been. We had to wait a little too long for our waiter to even approach our table, and when he finally did we were not even told the specials, only immediately asked what we wanted to eat. We also asked to have our left overs wrapper up to-go but they accidentally threw it away, which is very disappointing.

Tonight's Dining Adventure takes us to Feng Chophouse in Hartford, Connecticut. Sushi, miso soup, Chilean Seabass, aged 9 Oz filet cooked to absolute perfection! "The Apple Experience" (Apple, Gigi berries, white chocolate, crumb topping and a rum chars sauce with a hefty scoop of OMG!), hot tea and my signature cappuccino round out our 10 Star fine dining experience, WOW! Pictured with Executive Chef/Owner, John Chen.

Head about this place from my son. We went there on a Thursday night with a small group and were greeted by the owner John. Always a good sign when the owner is directly involved.

Let me tell you the food is amazing! We had the calamari, artichokes and a cheese board that was beyond delicious. Main courses were just exquisite...veal osobuco, linguine with clams. The service was impeccable and they make you feel so welcomed.

I would say one of the best restaurants in Philly.

Stopped by for a lunch while on business in the region. The entrance is through the kitchen so, we had to make sure we were at the right door. Once in it was a quaint little establishment that had several locals visiting. The food was Authentic, homemade and delicious. Our entire party throughly enjoyed the meal. We will definitely be making subsequent visits when I m the area.

Picking someone up at airport. Not from Philly and wanted a leisurely lunch. HEADS UP!!! It is Byob. Will know in the future. Felt like we were in a small local resturant in the middle of Italy. The menu was limited but had lots of good choices. Both the beet and caprese salads were great. Also had mushroom pasta and fish of the day. Tiramisu wonderful. We felt it was special.

My partner and I love the atmosphere and service here. Everything is always delicious and though they do take reservations, they'll try to squeeze us in if we call last minute. My favorite salad is the creamy Burrata salad. I'm about to upload a photo of it even though it didn't photograph well in low light. It is to die for. The shrimp and calamari appetizer was spicy and filing with Farro and ceci. Dessert is usually delicious as well, but I would rather have another appetizer with my byo wine.

You have to walk through the kitchen to get a table in the restaurant and it could get very crowded since there are only a few tables in the back with a beauitful mural on the wall. The service is great and the food is fresh!

Very informal restaurant. Food was very good, plated nicely and service was excellent with a knowledgeable staff. The only drawback is the room can feel a little cramped, but its fun talking with your fellow diners.

We happened upon this tiny gem years ago when we were in Philly for a concert. We had no reservation and just walked in; the smells were outstanding but they had no room. We vowed then to return one day and last night was the night. We have since moved from Brooklyn to Lancaster PA, and let me tell you, the drive was worth it! Every dish was expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and delicate sauces and broths. The artichoke hearts were exactly the right texture and I ate every drop of the accompanying broth with my remaining crusty Italian read. Efrem's seafood was cooked perfectly and my boar ragu was rich and not greasy. The pasta was fresh and perfect. This place is byo so our bill was half what it would have been in New York. We will definitely be back, so much more to try!

L'Angolo prepares some of the finest Italian food for a small neighborhood restaurant.

A cozy place for lunch. The lunch menu is very affordable, but you leave filled, or maybe you'll go with leftovers if you don't come with an appetite.

Reservations are a must for dinner. The restaurant is small, and probably won't be able to accommodate walk-in diners. If you live in the area and love Italian, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't done here at least once. You may find yourself coming back again.

Stopped for dinner between Tampa Fl and Pittsburgh Pa. We desperately wanted a great meal and needed to get out of the truck. It was awesome. Authentic Italian dinner. Great service and a perfect pick for us for an impromptu date night. The server knew the menu down to the details and when the food was served it exceeded our expectations.

Great little place, came in for a quick bite and glass of wine and wasn't disappointed. The highlight of the night was the brussel sprouts, seriously I went back the next day just to order another batch.
