Very quaint restaurant. I would describe it as a hole in the wall but that is what makes it special. Very personal waiter and service is excellent. Also don't even look at the menu when you go in. Wait to hear the specials and you'll find at least one to order.
This place is the best. We are right around the corner and they always do their best to squeeze us in last minute for our weekly Burrata salad and Spaghetti Bolognese. Attentive and fast service and a delicious experience every single time.
Great service food is the best, highly think u should should go there.
My wife and I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Food is excellent and John & Mario are very attentive and accommodating. Tonight our group of nine had another fantastic experience celebrating a birthday.
Could not ask for better service, food was amazing and I got lucky after the dinner, who could ask for more?
Great service, wonderful atmosphere and delicious authentic Italian food!
What can I say Italian food done right everything we had was delicious. Will definitely be back to try something else on the menu. And a whole lot better than scannicchio's.
Classic south philly Italian restaurant. Extremely consistent and very good affordable southern Italian food. Cute and definitely worth checking out. Reservations needed!
One of the best places I've ever been to. We enjoyed all of our pasta dishes; seafood rocked. This place is a gem.
My favorite Philly restaurant! Always get a good meal!
One of the most surprising finds in Philly so far. Everything from the appetizer to the entree was full of wonderful flavors. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine!
Amazing food! Warm, family atmosphere in a nice South Philly neighborhood. Highly recommend this restaurant. Just plan ahead as seating is limited.
Fantastic Italian food with very reasonable prices. Their gnocchi is out of this world.
Another small gem in South Philly. Great service! Great ambiance! Amazing food. Large portions and just delicious. I can't wait to come back!
Excellent dishes, original, and cared for by true professionals of the trade.
Wonderful Italian restaurant....food was amazing. Every thing from the appetizer to the cannoli to the gelati....OMG!!!! it was all just so delicious. The staff was great, very warm & friendly.
Simply one of Philly's Finest Authentic Italian Restaurants
Very nice BYO. Great food. Great staff. Make a reservation or call ahead. Limited seating.
Really good authentic Italian food and amazing service. Remember, BYOB!
One of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten in the city!
The restaurant is small but cute. One of my favorite places in South Philly for some Italian food. I was also impressed by customer service because our Italian waiter did a good job and brought a piece of Italy with his stories.
Keep up the good work!
Laura
Great food and service in a nice, smaller setting... Can't beat the quality for the reasonable prices.
Great food at a great price! The decor is right on point. Make sure you make a reservation though...and have the mascarpone cheesecake!
Excellent food and service. Definitely recommended if you enjoy authentic Italian food. Good menu selection of appetizers and entrees.
Awesome place, From the food to the service. Definitely will be returning
Italian food, so great. I like it here always quality food & service. Prices are reasonable. Kinda of like a place in Houston that I enjoyed.
I love this place. It is the one Italian restaurant that I recommend to everyone that is in search of some really good food. I have never tasted anything over or under cooked, over or under sauced, flavorless, or less than excellent. I have never left there unsatisfied. L'Angolo is tiny, however, and I don't believe that they can seat much more than 20 people so call in advance. The place is also located in the heart of South Philly so parking can be a challenge although I have somehow never spent more than a few minutes searching for a place to park. I grew up in NYC and have had the good fortune to enjoy many wonderful restaurants. L'Angolo is as memorable to me as any of them and better than almost all of them.
L'Angolo is about as close as you can get to dining in Italy without going there. Food is delicious (perfect gnocchi, tender braciole, and wow the grilled octopus), service could not be better, and then there is the enjoyable South Philly atmosphere. One drawback is the pasty bread which was saved by the tomato and olive oil dip. So if you want a good Italian dining experience, go to L'Angolo. BYOB.
The best Italian meal I've ever had. The waiter charmed the rest of my table as we drank some complementary wine
some of the best Italian in Philly. very authentic, as it some of the your uncle's from the motherland are visiting. it was amazing
Delicious food at very attractive prices. Get the grilled fish no matter what fish it is. Always excellent.
The food and atmosphere were amazing! Authentic Italian meals the pappardelle was amazing. The hospitality was great, too! Highly recommend.
Unbelievable food. Price is really good too all things considered. Couldn't recommend enough!
L'Angolo is one of the true delights of Italian cuisine in Phillly. Clean, simple, and delicious. If you are lucky, the artichokes are in season. Take your partner out for the night, bring a bottle of wine or two, and ask to sit up front by the kitchen. You will have a great time enjoying the banter and the action in the tiny open kitchen. The owner may even come have a drink with you. Make a reservation and if you can, go late agree things settle down.
The chicken Parmesan was the best I've ever had. The portions are huge with good prices. Small restaurant but the food is incredible.
Wasn't too happy with the staff. Our waiter was nice but the other guy was terrible! Our food 3 out of 4 said their food was dry. Felt like we were being pushed out. Not like it use to be.
very good food ... cozy place for dinner... small but very nice and cozy
Huge portions and great food. Bring your own wine! Great place to go on a date or with family. A little tight inside as tables are relatively close together but the atmosphere and food are worth it.
Cute little place. And little it is. You enter through the kitchen, which was actually a nice, homey feeling. Everyone was friendly and our waiter was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. I had mussles with a rose sauce that had great flavor and had just a slight bite to it. The mussles were cooked to perfection and were not sandy at all. The pasta special with crab meat and shrimp was delicious. This is a little gem tucked away in a South Philly neighborhood. It is worth a visit.
Good food but do NOT like the bring your own wine thing.
Incredible service, food, and atmosphere! A wonderful South Philly restaurant!
Very decent Italian. The trout special was excellent, so was the Spiedini. The beet salad, however, was just pedestrian. Small but cozy inside. Excellent service.
Very small dining area so make sure you reserve a table. I will be clear, the food here is absolutely amazing. BYOB, no corking fee. This is probably going to be one of my new go-to restaurants for Italian.
AMAZING food! We didn t have reservations, but they managed to squeeze us in. I would definitely recommend calling in ahead of time to make sure they have tables available. The menu is tapas/family style with dishes meant to be shared. We went for brunch, and it definitely hit the spot. I m sure everything on the menu is great, but I can only recommend the bruschetta, fried mozzarella, and lobster ravioli, as those were the only dishes I tried and they all were so flavorful and delicious
This is a great neighborhood restaurant, the food and service were both awesome.
Good food good Italian restaurant reasonable prices
Authentic Italian food with a charming atmosphere & excellent hospitality. Highly recommended. One of the best in Philly
The food and service here was just great. It was a little busy and a little wait but it's worth it in the end. The penne melanzane I ordered was just perfect. I will definitely be going back here again.
I ordered from here through door dash. On the menu it states sausage ravioli for 22 dollars. I get my order and it was 8 pieces of ravioli. Order somewhere else. I called the owner and he says they have no door dash accoun . He just serves everyone.
A great evening with good food and good friends. The appetizer special with cherry tomatoes, farro grain, fresh mozzarella and balsamic on arugula was amazing. Go! Mangia!
I wasn't impressed with the food or the service. I also did not like to be asked to leave "to make room for the people waiting". Sorry...I love South Philly but don't thi k I will return here.
Italian food and the atmosphere at this location is super good. Service is consistently good. Prices were good for how much you get.
Fabulous and reasonably priced Italian restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, transparent cooking, right when you walk in. Salvatore is a very friendly and attentive waiter, matre di and manager. Can't say enough good things about the experience. Food is very good.
First time there and will definitely be back. The food and service is amazing.
Cozy South Philly Italian spot with a small but delicious menu. Bonus points for BYO and great service. Parking can be tough in the neighborhood but you should be able to find something on Broad.
The food was amazing. Service was excellent. I thought it was cool you could bring your own alcohol. Honestly I am not a huge Italian food fan, but this place changed my prospective. I will go back next time I am passing through Philly.
Always a good time and great food. Just love this place.
Great food. You will not be disappointed. First time you go you will be hooked and want to go back regularly.
Not my first rodeo here Anytime you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the dining room you should know you are in for a treat. I was with five others, leaving on a company trip in the AM and decided to have dinner .Someone suggested Ralph's and I said no, no, no .Let's get something a notch up from pasta and gravy. They were not disappointed. Let's just say everyone loved their food The service and ambiance we're top notch
Don't settle for ordinary and instead check out this great little gem
Good location for tasty Italian food. i was so full. i'll return with my coworkers. the bill was appropriate for the quality. food is like a restaurant in louisville i liked.
Not sure what the four and five stare reviews are about. Perhaps I missed something. First time and perhaps last time. I ve eaten in too many good restaurants over the years and L Angolo is not one of them. Food came out over done and the service is just ok.
Food was amazing!! Authentic Italian! The only downside to this place is parking, and how crowded it gets. Place is very small in size.
I know this restaurant & the waiters for a long time. The best restaurant in south Philly.
Small family run local restaurant with zesty tastes at reasonable prices.
In town for the penguins game, so i was ready to root against all things Philadelphia this weekend, but good lord, everything here was perfect. 5 of us came, ordered 6 entries and 3 appetizers and there is literally nothing i wouldn't have again. If this is what Philly is, i think i won't root against them tomorrow (still rooting for the Pens though)
Great food, neat spot, feels like a mom and pop, but has some amazing dishes.
