Kruse and Muer Roadhouse Review

The legacy of Chuck Muer lives on. Classic and modern recipes are served in a vintage roadhouse. Famous for pasta and fish, the tortellini Ala creme should not be missed. This restaurant gets very busy, reservations are recommended.

$/portion is quite high. Great atmosphere comfortable environment. Portions are small too.

Ordered from the catering menu for 21st Birthday (party of 15). Ribs, tenderloin kabobs, salad, Mac and cheese, rolls, garden veggies and pilaf. Was outstanding- every single person loved the food. Was cooked perfectly and the ordering and pickup was easy and delightfully. I would highly recommend for an event! Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Really nice hostess. Didn t walk 5 miles ahead of my grandma and I . Food was delicious. Everything was clean . Finding the entrance is confusing but it s worth it once you make it in!

I am a Truck driver and I have the oppertunity to enjoy meals all over the country. It is rare to find a restraunt that gets everything right the first time. You just found it! Cant go wrong eating here. Thanks to the management and staff. WELL DONE. Stake was off the chain. Service was tremendously well timed. Really no words would do it justice. is to die for. 110%

Great food and drinks. The wait staff was amazing as well but I would NOT suggest doing a large party at this location. The party coordinator was rude and unprepared. There were things not prepared for our party or they were not what was specified. If you are having a party here and want things done a certain way, I would insist that you be allowed time to prepare ahead of your event time and triple check that they actually follow through with that (even call before you head over there to set up). In the end, the event went well with the help of many but it was more stressful than it needed to be.

The Jimmy perch is as good as my mother in law used to make!

Service was good, and we had great family fun to celebrate our sons 25th and 14th wedding anniversaries but my pile of perch was not up to Kruse & Muer standards. It was overcooked and very dry.

We have been to multiple Kruse & Muer restaurants and have loved them all. So, we decided to give this location a try.

I really loved the atmosphere at this location. When I stepped inside of the building, I felt like I was in a cozy lake house.

The food was excellent! I ordered the Swiss Onion Soup, something I have never tried before, and it was amazing. My shrimp and lobster mac and cheese was also delish!

The wait staff was attentive and did a great job making sure we were happy and had everything we needed.

We'll definitely visit this place again in the future.

The hostesses were extremely rude as was the pregnant bartender whose response to everything was "no". She also spilled red wine down the side of my glass which she didn't tell me about, so when I lifted my glass to take a drink it dripped all over.

Everyone working in the restaurant seemed to have an unpleasant disposition.

I ordered the seafood sizzler which had one scallop, 2 shrimp and 2 tiny pieces of asparagus. It was basically all potatoes.

I will not be returning to any Kruse and Muer restaurants.

Not our favorite Kruse & Muer but still probably pretty good for Lake Orion. Corn Chowder was really good and Griffin Claw on tap...

I love their food, they have great customer service. They are very accessible and they do take walkins. The pizza is good and so are the salads. Corn chowder soup is part of heaven. And the bread is very good.

We keep trying to get good quality like we had two years ago, buying the last 4 times we have had a combination of disappointing foods service and illness from a shrimp pasta order. We loved our restaurant and special buffets for holidays anniversaries and birthdays but will not be recommending or returning to the Lake Orion or Clarkson locations. We are so sad.

Good food; nice staff. Never had a bad meal at any of the K&M joints honestly. The Corn Chowder and the Chicken Alfredo Pizza (light sauce) are amazing.

Not that great. Pizza was burnt. They did ask if I wanted to wait for a new one. But I didn't have time . So we ended up taking it. Threw most of it out. Really burnt end wasn't edible. Salad had blue cheese and apples in it. They should mention that when you order. Threw that out also. Probably would not go back again. On a side note we also had a Domino's Pizza and that was so much better then the pizza at Kruse and Muer.

We were extremely disappointed with our meal on Saturday August 4th!! First of all the calamari had next to no capers or peppers and was a little greasy, and my husband did not enjoy his fish and chips and my whitefish smelled and tasted awful, clearly was not fresh!! We will not be returning.

I didn't get the bill, but I loved the food. Pricing per menu looked fair for what you get.

Food was excellent, called ahead a week in advance for a party of 45- 60, service was extremely slow 1 bartender & 2 servers on hand ??????

I called to make a reservation and they told me they would try to seat me but there was no guarantee, then said thank you and goodbye without taking my name. I called back to speak to a manager about my confusing experience and was put on hold four times within the same call after being connected to carry out each time. Then finally I was told the manager was too busy to come to the phone.

I don't see how people eat there it stinks I mean smells bad

The best food! Corn chowder is amazing!! So is the Maryland Chicken. Service is very attentive.

We got a take out order and out was hot and fresh. They were timely with the order as well.

This is always an awesome dining experience. My favorite is the filet marsala which is out of this world! Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. A little pricey, but totally worth it.

Great food and staff. We visited for date night, and had a fantastic time. The food and atmosphere are well-worth the price, and I highly recommend coming here for special occasions. They have a Distinguished Guest Card which you can purchase, and if you go 3 times a year, it will save you some money.
Bread, salmon, chicken, desserts, soup, wine, everything had a complex and delicious taste, and was very filling.

Lean cuisine quality with four star prices. Ordered takeout from the gluten free menu. I have had lean cuisine taste better. I added a salad to my order for $7. I swear to you they gave me 1/2 a bowl of lettuce with nothing on it. Pretty ridiculous. I have eaten at many four star restaurants across the country. This one is the least appealing I have had yet.

I had a terrible experience their last Friday night. I called to speak to the manager. She assured me that the GM would call me. I tried calling them again. STILL no call back from anyone. Seems very unlike Kruse & Muer.

Let me just say the bread is to die for. Even the pizza is good too. Everything from entrees to appetizers are well made with lots of flavor. Good romantic place to bring your partner to.

Went there for dinner last night. Was seated in an area off to the left with barely anyone else in there. Took 15 minutes for our server Charley to say hello or take our drink order after being seated. One of the ladies in my party is 9 months pregnant and asked for a decaf coffee which our waitress forgot, and we had to ask again 10 minutes later. After that we basically never saw our waitress again - never once asked how our food was that was brought out by someone else, had to ask someone walking by to get her so we could get a drinks refill.. etc.

The food : Not great. We paid for Caeser salads to start and I have never had a caeser dressing before that tasted EXACTLY like mustard. It was terrible and inedible. I would have told our waitress, but after we got our salads, we were alone in a room off to the side and never saw anyone. The chicken on the chicken ravoli dish was cooked to the point it could barely be cut with a knife and our steaks were closer to well than medium. Overall , extremely disappointing to do a double date meet up before the other couple had their child. I could not recommend this place again.

This is a nice place with plenty of seating. My visit was a business lunch with a small group of customers. Our service was great and the food was perfect. Try the mustard maple salmon when its on special - it was fantastic.

The food and drinks were good and the customer service was outstanding. I took two stars off because of the terrible lighting and excessive amount of fruit flies. I know it sounds picky about the lighting but they use what I can best describe as mini spot lights because everything is heavily shadowed; including your menu from your own head. The excessive fruit flies are self explanatory. My wife and I had to keep blowing them off our drinks and food.

Loved it, best food at a great price. The service was kind and accommodating.

Tyler, Kelly and the entire staff at Kruse & Muer Roadhouse in Lake Orion made our BIG day as wonderful as could be expected! They reserved an entire section of their restaurant for our group of 30 people and went above and beyond to make things perfect for our wedding. My wife and I couldn't be happier! ...and, as always - the food was outstanding, too!

The bread is amazing first and foremost. The food is great and service is stellar

It was ok. I love the server but the food was so so. I was surprised that the big guy in plaid (manager) didn't stop at my table & say hello or ask how everything was. I can't say I'd put this on a return list.

The food is pretty good, but too expensive for what it is. Amazing wait staff though!

My fiance and I went in last Saturday and the bartender Rodney was unbelievable. The AC was not working so several customers around us were frustrated with the heat. Rodney took everything in stride and was very apologetic for the heat and the wait on the food (It took a little long but Rodney's service was out of this world). He even gave us a discount at the end of the night. Will definitely go back, thanks to Rodney.

I heard from people who grew up in this town that this restaurant was the best. Well, i was quite disappointed. Dirty bar and restaurant. I sat at the bar with my SO and could feel a sticky slime all over the bar, and underneath, so i refused to put my purse down on the floor. There were 2 hostesses, who looked about 10-12 years old. Seriously? Ok, maybe they are related to the owner or its fam owned however one of the girls was instructed to go behind the bar and help barback since they were short on staff it appeared. she was standing right in front of me in the bar, which just seemed WRONG and uncomfortable and the entire time she was washing cups which i wouldn't say really washing!, she was talking over our heads to the other pre-teen hostessing. It was rude and just awkward. Then, the mgr came out and before he left, he apologized for the bar being warm and put a dinky little fan at the end of the bar. When he first entered the area, he proceeded to have causal conversations with the bar staff and the pre-teen hostesses for the entire time in front of all of the bar patrons while we were waiting for service and sweating to death. There were two bartenders who were talking to each other and who didn't even put down a menu or greet us for about 10 min after we walked in. He couldn't pay attention to what anyone ordered, including ours, and kept re-asking for confirmation on the few items we did order. I ordered hot tea and the hot water tasted it like it came from the sewer. I couldn't drink it. Food was below average. i had the cherry salad w/ salmon and I could taste it was poor quality or old salmon and the lettuce was all wilting and turning brown and soggy in my salad. Never will be back.

Stopped by the bar with my wife for Happy Hour on Wednesday...ordered three appetizers. Two fish and one chicken.. couple of house wines.. enough for our dinner....Reasonably priced and did I mention a loaf of their delicious bread

Great place if you like fish and seafood but I'd like to see a bigger menu with more pasta dishes and more dishes that are not focused on seafood

Not impressed. Food was ok, nothing special. Skinless chicken breast entree was dry and tough.
We arrived around 4:30pm and were given lunch menus. When we finished noticed bill reflected dinner prices. Asked our server and she said "you arrived on the cusp of dinner time". Our response was why give us lunch menus then. Won't be back.

The food was tasty and service was good. I'd like to give it more stars, but it smelled like an old musty basement when you first walk in. Almost enough to make you lose your appetite.

We love to dine-in or take-out. Delicious pizza and the kruser fish tacos are my favorite.

Good was great as always! Our waitress, Summar, was another story. She came to our table about 5 times the whole 1 hour and 15 minutes we were there, even though she did not seem to have other tables. She was rude, cold, and took forever to get the bill!

Really good food, slightly pricey. It's worth it though. It's also chilly so bring a jacket
