I would give this place a 10 stars if I can. I always start with the chowder, the medallion another favorite, which I tend to lean that way alot. Delicious seafood oh d always, dinnertime a twist. Just the best for kruse and Mauer resturant. Great alternative to the Chop House In Rochester, all i get leave town for a nice drive.

Absolutely terrible !!!!!!
Went on Father s Day made reservations for 2pm. When we arrived we were seated then told that it was a buffet $25 per person we said ok and proceeded to get food. There was barely anything left the prime rib was ice cold and tough the remainder of the buffet serving containers were empty with cold scraps left in each one. When I complained we were told the buffet was from 12-2 and you could not start ordering off the menu until 4pm. Would you not think that when we called for 2pm reservations someone would have explained this to us. All four of us left starving it was the worst event imaginable. You could not even find a plate if you saw something you might want to eat. NEVER AGAIN

The food quality is off the charts for their pricing. We had calamari (classic) and crab cakes as a starter. Could have lived on those but ordered a steak and Wallie. The meal is there. The presentation was there. We ate at the bar cause they were so busy and the service was perfect. With drinks, all that food at $85, I win that one.

The food was fabulous but it was cold in there. everybody was complaining not just us.

the front section was warm the back section was freezing where a lot of the customers were at.
I've been to Kruse and muer plenty of times all the restaurants I've never been uncomfortable until today

Chicken tortellini and peach sangria were both delicious. And even though I was way too stuffed to eat any dessert I managed to eat an entire chocolate creme puff dessert because it was just too yummy to stop. Our server Sarah was friendly, and always seemed to be right there as soon as we needed anything. 4 thumbs up from us

Hostess did not great us on entry, did side work instead. Food was served cold and overpriced. Bathroom was dirty and had no paper towel. Manager ignored our table and yelled at her staff in front of customers.

The best, hands down BEST. Staff and and atmosphere can not be equaled. My choice for every occasion. Business meeting or dinner with the family. Superior management for a class act experience.

I found it on G maps, decent reviews. No prices on the web menu told me that they were going to be higher prices than most. I went, older place, said so on the web, dark wood, nice enough. Paper over table cloth, the waitress wrote her name on the paper.. maybe thinking I wouldn't remember?? I don't know..
I ordered the corn chowder.. bleh.. roasted like cheese not corn but there was corn in it.. not for me as it wasn't that hot either. I ordered the mac and cheese. It had 2 options, chicken with peppers or lobster. Wanting the most protein, I got both. It presented well with toasted crumbs from being finished in the broiler but that was the best thing about it. Bland, the sliced chicken was layered on top of the mac not stirred in with it as the lobster was and the chicken wasn't very hot. The sauce was thin and got left in the pan so I had a dish of sauce when I was done.

So ice tea, chowder, and mac and cheese w/lobster and chicken was $35.
A totally forgettable meal.
Better luck the next folks.

Great Staff and Food Very Accommodating. It was a busy day and my birthday, stopping for a quick bite before visiting my sick mom. Very nice the gave me a dessert to bring and all I asked for was a candle and a match so I could share with mom. Great people and food presentation.

Excellent food and service. I frequent this location for lunch and we love the free bread in addition to the burgers and my favorite, the seafood panroast. My daughter and I both love the lemon caper calamari as well. We have the club membership which pays for itself after about two visits.

I visited the area for business one week and I was recommended here for dinner. The beer list was great and there was a variety of food. I will say a lot of it though was on the heavier/creamier side (welcome to Midwest living...which I love being from the Midwest!) I think where this place really shines though is their service. Our waitress was fantastic and very attentive. Plus, you get to color with crayons on the table!

I have only been to this location s couple of times and this by far was the worst! I ordered the blackened whitefish and asked if it could be lightly blackened. I was told yes. It came out dry, burnt and about the smallest piece of whitefish I have ever seen! I asked for it to be remade broiled! This was even worse. It was totally over done, dry, and burnt! And smaller than the first piece! $19? The manager corrected it with a beautiful piece of walleye! However I will not be back! I told them to fire that first chef!

My family went last night, my girls ordered chicken tenders and they were the worst I ever tasted. They were chewy and tasteless. Creamy swiss onion soup was luke warm and just tasted bland. Salad was brown as well. Waitress never checked back until the check was delivered. Never going back.

I have mixed reviews. We used to come here a lot, mostly for their family pizza deal but also for some special occasions. The service is always great! The food is another story. Not sure if it's a management issue with quality control or something else. Some of the cuts of meat are not great quality, sauces have inconsistent, portions of ingredients are hit or miss, etc.
I did have an issue with a manager in the pizza area who was super condescending and rude, but you run into folks who are having a bad day, so that's not part of the 3 star rating.
I hope things get sorted out. All the pieces are there... just needs some better management and quality control at the lower levels. Almost feels like complacency.

I met family here not knowing what to expect as I'm not from the area. I liked the decor, food presentations, and overall upscale atmosphere of the restaurant. Certainly this is a happening place to take someone you wish to impress. It wasn't a perfect experience, however. While my steak tasted ok, it was way overcooked (I like medium not well done) and my wife's steak was even worse - she didn't even eat more than 2 bites (it was like leather). The potatoes and bread were fantastic, though. I'd say it was an $8 steak if I had gotten it at any dive, but certainly not worth the $25+ it cost when I got the bill. Maybe it was the cooks first day or this wasn't his specialty. Perhaps next time I'll order it rare or get something else entirely.

The glazed lamb shank was delicious, musmroom mashed potatoes were ok and vegetables were good. The next time I'll get my favorite, Maryland Chicken. The dining room was nice, cozy. Table linens always add a classy feel to the room. This place is always clean and neat.

Great

The perfect place to go to if you like having surprises on your pizza. Order pepperoni and ham and get shrimp and coconut. Order ham and black olives and you get tomatoes and pepperoni! If it wasn t so funny I d stop going there.

WeI really enjoy the chicken alfredo pizza here but depending how it is prepared, it can be overdone. Recently, on a busy Friday night, I decided the pizza was too done and asked for it to be remade. I NEVER do this and felt embarrassed but both the manager and counter person were so nice and they didn't make me feel bad for having it done right. Actually Jessica, the counter person, pretty much insisted that I get it remade and the manager chimed in to give the option of a credit for the next time I visited or remaking it. I decided to wait for it to be remade. The pizza was ready in just over ten minutes and they threw in some cookies for my time. In the future I know to ask to cook it on the lighter side. Thanks for making it great!

Bread is great and fish-based dishes are awful, but don't go there for steak! They had to re-cook our steak 3x and still didn't get it right but I ate it since I was hungry after having waited an hour. The worst part is that I eat my steak's blue rare, so it only takes a couple of seconds to cook one! To their credit, they did take it off of my bill, but still - go there for seafood/fish!

We had my mom's 50th birthday party here and it was perfect! The wait staff went above and beyond in everything! They even helped set up. We were so incredibly pleased and would recommend anyone to have parties here.
