Very well structured! Great restaurant with fair price. It is more worthwhile to do the safari with your own car than the guided one. Of the "big five" we saw 4, just missing the leopard.

The wildlife experience was wonderful, but one can definitely see that government officials work here, meaning the service and facilities are not much better than at any government run organizations. The facilities are not subject to general maintenance, even after reporting leaking toilets. Berg en Dal Camp's chalet was extremely filthy, drains overflowing at Afsaal, etc.

Our favourite holiday destination. Chalets in camps are super clean and comfy... Though I would expect more luxury overall in chalets down to restrooms in camps. Kruger"s rates are over priced and not affordable for locals.

It's like bing a US national park. You can drive anywhere, and the wildlife just work around you. The Mopani chalets are rustic, but nice with air-conditioning and outside kitchens. We do recommend that you bring your own food as it is a long drive from the entrance, and the little rest stop restaurant food is limited. The restaurant does have a balcony with a great view of the elephants playing in the lake below, however.

Kruger s Day Safari Benchmark

Kruger s Day Safari Benchmark

My wife and I have done many safaris in the Kruger Park and have used many operators. Safaria are hands down the best day safari tour operator that we have experienced. Their entire approach to safari and the Kruger Park is personalised and focussed on you and the experience. Our guide opened our eyes to the smaller details and we learnt so much. Yes, we saw the Big 5 but it was the little things like the grasses and termites and the ancient wisdoms that really made it fantastic. Well done Safaria, we will certainly be back.

Absolutely breath taking. I went to the South African portion in Mpumalanga. Your guide truly makes the experience. If there are several standing there from which to choose, keep that in mind. If they're great, they'll make sure you find as much as you truly can during your time in the park.

An exciting adventure in the Timbavati Animal Reserve in the Greater Kruger region. A great opportunity to observe the great African mammals.
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK, is about six hours from Johannesburg. Specialized guides take you in a four wheel drive vehicle for a beautiful ride. Kruger is the largest animal reserve in South Africa.

-If you want to experience "Wild Africa", this is the place.
-If you want to take that unforgettable picture that will make all your friends jealous, this is the place.
-If you want to smell the dust of Africa, and hear the shriek of a fish eagle, this is the place.
-If you want to see baby pups of the African wilddog, this is the place.
-If you want to feel what living truly feels like, this is the place.

Now you are probably wondering why only 4 stars then? Why not 5? If the Kruger Park is so great, why don't I give it a full rating. I will get to that in a second.

First I want to tell you what I did like.

All the staff are extremely friendly. Big smiles and happy banter no matter where we went. But they also take pride in there work. Without rules there are chaos, and they fairly enforce the rules (which I like a lot).

The tarred roads are excellent quality, and most of the gravel roads can be accessed with a normal car.

If you get hungry, there are a few restaurants to choose from. They have some nice traditional African options to choose from, like Bobotie on Rooster Koek and Pap and Boerewors. (I recommend the restaurant Afsaal on the Malelane-Skukuza road)

But all in all, you are there to see the animals, birds and nature, which there is plenty of. Around every corner awaits something new to discover, like the endangered ground hornbill, lazy hippos bathing in the sun or giraffes admiring the "view".

But now, the reason why I give it only 4 stars.

The restrooms...

I'm not a squeamish guy. I can handle gross. But goodness gracious, was that an experience and a half. I dreaded the times I gad to go the bathroom.

Other than that, it was great.

Love it

A must see when travelling Africa... highly recommended

We toured the park during the day with our own car. We saw many different animals, including lions, rhinos, antelope, dung beetle, crocodiles, elephants, wild dogs, wild pigs, various birds...

We went on a night safari - scary (the open van at night gave me the creeps) but a great experience

We had a barbeque in the bush, with rangers surrounding the area. The sounds of the animals at night were amazing...

The accomodation inside the park is clean and tidy. We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow, with kitchen

I cannot wait to visit the park again one day.

Enjoy!!

Was a very pleasant visit, we usually go once a year. Saw Cheetah, Lions, Wild Dogs, Hyenas, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephants and Jackals all in one day. Stayed our first night at Tamboti tented camp, ablutions were clean and neat, water pressure is slow though, tents were also great, and was fitted with a fridge, 2 single beds, cupboard and power point. Second night we stayed at Pretoriuskop, in the Huts, very basic with just 2 beds, towels and a fan. Ablutions were also neat and pressure was good.

Do it, just do it.

Do it, just do it.
A visit truly is one of the greatest memories a person is able to make.

As everything is already said, just three important hints:

1. STAY. IN. THE. PARK.
Stay at one of the dozens of restcamps located inside the park, as driving in and out of the park for the gate opening and closing can easily take some (!) hours.
Yes it's expensive and no, it's not Kempinski standard, but believe me, it's worth it.

2. Attend a walking tour
These are also not exactly cheap and we didn't see much wildlife at all, but it's nice to be able to walk the park, where it's otherwise strictly forbidden. The guides are smart and proud of their park and it is nice to spend some time with them.

3. A few days are minimum
Answer for yourself, how manys days "a few" exactly are - we just had three full days and it wasn't enough at all. Don't put yourself under too much stress and focus on the parts of the park that interest you most.
