Really awesome. There's plenty of opportunities to get up close with the animals even though you're in a vehicle almost all the time.
There's two way you can experience the park. You can either self-drive or you can go on a game drive. We did both, and I liked both experiences.
For the self-drive, you pretty much just drive around the park and look for animals out your window. The roads are well-paved, and we had absolutely no issues with animals getting too close to the vehicle. We rented a 4x4, but you could easily do the park in a small car.
The game drives are similar to the self-drive with a few of differences. You're in an open vehicle driven by a ranger, and the rangers can do a few things that you're not allowed to do on your own. For example, they can go a little off the trail, and they can be outside the gates before and after the gates close. In addition, the rangers talk to each other, so they have a better idea where to spot uncommon game.
You can also do game drives with private companies, but I'm not sure what the advantage of a private drive would be since they have the same restrictions as the rangers.
To see and feel Gods presence and to see his work in nature is was awsome
Saw lion, leopard, buffalo, luck, nyala, impala, zebra, giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, warthog, blou wilde bees, silver back foxes, fish eagles, barn owls, King Fisher's, crested barbets, 3 types of horrnbills, a secretary bird, ostriches and many other birds. All in 2 days! Truly an amazing & incrddible experience!!
Amazing experience! Morning walk highly recommend. Bring your own food. Restaurant variety is low.
We were blessed with exceptional sightings, however it does come down to luck
As a kid my parents took us to the Kruger a lot and I'm so happy to be able to do the same for my family. The Kruger is THE South African Big-5 safari experience, mixing self-drive, self-catering holidays with luxury, private safari experiences. The park is very popular and is always always quite busy, especially in the Southern parts around Skukuza and Lower Sabie, which are two big tourist spots owing to the good game viewing opportunities. The park is so diverse and changes from North to South, each are having its own unique characters and biodiversity. From the Mopani forests in the North, to the open Savannah in the Middle and the dense scrub of the South, there's always something to see. Some tips - BOOK - and book early! Whether you're going in as a day visitor you'll want to pre-book your entry to skip the long queues that can form at the gates. You're also not permitted to bring alcohol int the park if you're a day visitor. And if you want to stay in the park, be sure to book well in advance, as much as 6 months in advance. Obey the rules, don't ruin the experience for others and make wonderful memories.
A magnificent example of what can be achieved when animals and the natural environment's needs are considered and protected. I need say no more.
It was great, amazing, there is just too much adventure, we saw lions feasting, we also saw a lot of different animals, closer to the road and far, u can enjoy if u not in a hurry, there is a lot of place to go to, you just hv to drive with ur eyes open, lower ur speed, watch the smaller animals crossing on the road, keep a good distance from the Elephant , lower your music. Good place to go with family and friends
It's overcrowded with people and the shops is ripping locals off. The nature side is always great
Lots of people due to school holidays but very well organized at gates
Thousands of blogs have already covered it, and hundreds of websites are dedicated to this park. If you love nature and/or the outdoors, you will 100% love the Kruger. The ultimate safari pilgrimage.
This is on the best park each day when I do drive I go home happily.
Awesome game park preserving the natural beauty of the South African bushveld in all its glory. So many animals to see. Skukuza rest camp is a great stop as well.
Very nice visit friendly staff and awesome encounters
It's awesome.I recommend to mix both guided and self guided safaris. If you want to stay in the rest camps inside the park for the night make sure you book well in advance, even in low season.
It's because it protects our town's animals.....whereby everyone get knowing difference animals without being hurt
Owesome place for a family outing, wish to go again nextyear
If you love game reserves and nature then thisbis the place to be
Absolutely amazing even during the drout it it is possible to see so many animals we saw all big 5 during our 4 day visit and even saw cheetahs hunting zebras. Just keep in mind you need to be obsessive with all the rules they have in the park, getting stopped by rangers and local police can ruin your day even when getting your fingers out the window or the speed limit when going down hill. The camps are the best options to stay our favorites are Skukuza, Satara & Olifants.
Kruger park is a true gem. When you love the bush and you love nature, nothing compares to Kruger Park
Kruger is slowly going down the way South Africa is heading
It's a good place to refresh your mind looking at different kind of animals.
Great experience, plan your trip 6:00 am at the gate. With snacks for the drive.
Great outdoor camping area nd amazing sight of the the stars at night
Kruger is absolutely amazing! I was very surprise by its beauty. One of the best safari I ever was.
Kruger park, what more can you say. We used a tour guide this time which was a bit more rushed but we saw plenty of game and they all communicate so everyone gets to hear what the others are seeing and if your close enough the guide zips over
A true wildlife... spotted the big 5 with few extra Hyenas, Cheetahs and Wild dogs
Saw the big 5 before noon only problem is it is a bit clinical. Tarred roads not the real African bush experience like Gonharezou in Zimbabwe.
It's a good initiative for saving wildlife. Super talented guides. The only drawback is the amount of tourists.
Better than heaven. Great personal great inviroment. Love the place
Beautiful place, go with time and own vehicle to live all the experiences!
Park is well structured, with snack bars, bathrooms. Guided tours should be booked well in advance as they sell out very fast
Safari, animals, relaxation and great memories.
Nowhere have we seen so many animals in freedom as there. Highly recommended, best to spend several days there!
Saw the big five.......amazing. A bucket list for everyone
After 20years living in Malelane, the Kruger always amazes me.
This is a beautiful island of nature in the south Africa. It is huge and can not be viewed on a single week. The size of the Kruger fits the size Israel. Southern part was more bushy than expected. There are a lot of animals, but you have start the drive before the sunrise.
Shishangeni Private Lodge was awesome to stay at, great hosts
A fantastic place to get away and experience the best of African wildlife. The South Eastern region of the park (which I usually visit) has plenty of game of all kinds, often enabling the sighting of the big 5. Elephants are particularly plentiful in the park. Overall a wondeful place to get away and enjoy nature.
