Great venue, fantastic shows. My family and I love the Broadway series but there's so much more to enjoy here! Last year, we took advantage of Kids Night and the Lunch & Learn offerings. If you're local to Charlotte and haven't done either of these, you really ought to!

Saw Cats for l think the 5th time, wife thinks it is the best thing ever. We had not seen it in about 10 years. First several times were on Broadway. This venue is nice. Sound system was very good, not sure how much is the theaters and how much is furnished by the traveling theater troop. Some road construction out front made navigation interesting and there was a pride parade or something going on as well, adding to the confussion. The theater offers discount parking vouchers for some of the nearby garages. Note that I wrote "some of the nearby garages" not "all nearby garages" and of course I picked one that was not on the voucher deal. Entering the building and finding seats was all directed by attendants. There was security wanding checkpoint there at the entrance , so leave the hardware in the car.
The theater is exquisite. Acustics are excellent. The quality of productions are top notch. We seen musical acts, plays and Opera and none have disappointed. Check it out!
I've been in Chlt for 20 years and worked in Uptown for over 10, but never attend an event. But Diana Ross brought me out and I must return. The venue is beautiful with a staff to match.
Truly phenomenal, loved seeing come from away. Had taken my younger child and he say through most of the play. As we came out the staff asked if we were okay and we were allowed to finish watching the play on one of the tv screens outside.
The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center is a beautiful theatre. It's always very clean and the staff is super friendly. They consistenly have a great season lineup and always deliver.
We love this venue - especially since they redid the seats. Lots of great seating and the handicapped balconies are very spacious and accommodating. We typically go here for the musicals (Broadway Lights Series) and have been impressed with the quality of shows. Additionally the beverage service is great and won't cost you an arm and a leg either. The ushers are very friendly and I love being able to pay for my parking along with my concessions.
Wonderful, Great Time W/Pattie Labelle. Staff well organized. Gave very good directions to where we needed to be. Very Friendly and Professional. Love going there.
The place was packed for Hamilton! But all the employees that we interacted with were pleasant, efficient, and very helpful. Parking in the Bank of America parking lot was convenient and we were able to buy a $5 parking pass once we got in to the theater. I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. And the seats themselves were comfortable (if somewhat close to the rows in front).
My husband surprised me with an early Valentine's date which included seeing Shen Yun at the Belk. Belk theater is such a beautiful place! From the lobby lay out so traffic flows pretty well, to the bathrooms that are also designed to keep traffic flowing to pretty comfortable seats in the theater. It is a great overall experience.
I do wish the old school etiquette was still in tact like it used to be. I think the ushers ( that I believe are volunteers) do their best, but some people are just rude. Walking in and out of the theater during the performance is such a distraction (unless it's an absolute emergency). And while I think it's ridiculous that someone would pull their phone out for more than a second while the theater is pretty dark to check messages and social media, not dimming the brightness is unforgivable!
Great theater and always enjoy coming here. The staff are fantastic, extremely helpful and very polite. Has a very warm and welcoming feel to the location.
I love seeing shows here. The staff is always great and the venue is beautiful and comfortable. Good location for dinner and drinks before or after a show.
Went to see Aladdin. The cast was amazing. Their hard work showed. The entire cast was excellent. Been there two times and will be getting a season pass soon. Great experience.
I love this house! The design is so beautiful and the sound is amazing! I've been a part of several symphony houses over the years and this one rivals any of them anywhere in the world
Lovely theater in downtown Charlotte. It doesn't have the classic feel of some older theaters I have visited but it is still a very nice venue. Drinks are a bit steep but that's expected. The layout of the seating is good. We had lower level, 15 rows back to the side and it still felt close. The balconies look like a good view as well with good distance to the stage. All in all, I would go watch a performance there again.
My families loves the shows!! We have season tickets and couldn't be happier with the experiences we have had. I also highly recommend the capital grill across the street downtown beforehand.
The place just plain out sucks. My grandson performed there with the Charlotte Choral and I had planned on taking some quality pics with my Nikon. Found out AFTER I got in the door that cameras were not allowed. Also, my son was with me and had a bad tooth ache. He went out to the lobby to take some pain medicine and was not allowed to come back in until the performance was over with. So, I've been to the Belk Theater two times, my first and last.
Awesome experience..... A walk through the Bank of America Center leading to the Blumenthal Performing Arts Theater was very enjoyable..... especially during the Christmas season.....Great seating and professional help made the visit outstanding....
We paid $150.00 for what was to be some of the best seats for Shen Yun and the seats where so small that you couldn't move. Much smaller sets then any airplane I have ever been in. It was crazy to pay that much and couldn't enjoy the show we paid for. We left at intermission. I will never waste my money at this theater again.
Nice old theater feel. Nice comfortable cushioned seats. Many staff members there to help. They sold 5 dollar night time parking at the bank of America parking deck.
Broadway and off Broadway shows at Blumenthall Performing Arts Center are just one part of Chatlotte's robust Arts & Culture Scene. Next up - Les Miserable'
Wonderful place for live perfirmances. Parking on level 6 of Bank of America lot has entrance that leads right to the theater. People then direct you where to go.
The theatre is awesome but their organization moving from one show to the next was a mess. People lined up in the streets. Those without tickets got in before those with tickets. Definitely something they could improve on.
