Now you are probably wondering why only 4 stars then? Why not 5? If the Kruger Park is so great, why don't I give it a full rating. I will get to that in a second.

First I want to tell you what I did like.

All the staff are extremely friendly. Big smiles and happy banter no matter where we went. But they also take pride in there work. Without rules there are chaos, and they fairly enforce the rules (which I like a lot).

The tarred roads are excellent quality, and most of the gravel roads can be accessed with a normal car.

If you get hungry, there are a few restaurants to choose from. They have some nice traditional African options to choose from, like Bobotie on Rooster Koek and Pap and Boerewors. (I recommend the restaurant Afsaal on the Malelane-Skukuza road)

But all in all, you are there to see the animals, birds and nature, which there is plenty of. Around every corner awaits something new to discover, like the endangered ground hornbill, lazy hippos bathing in the sun or giraffes admiring the "view".

But now, the reason why I give it only 4 stars.

The restrooms...

I'm not a squeamish guy. I can handle gross. But goodness gracious, was that an experience and a half. I dreaded the times I gad to go the bathroom.

Other than that, it was great.
