Definitely worth the trip. It is not cheap but if you are in the area you should definitely plan a couple of days. The staff at the barriers was always very nice. Many jeep safaris start directly from the entrance. The streets are fast. Most importantly, never forget binoculars, best for each person. Seeing the animals in their natural habitat is breathtaking. It was a great experience.

Amazing! This place is a must watch if you are wildlife lover. Serene beauty of nature and conserving the big 5 animal species in this park. Its a lifetime experience to watch out these species with young kids. Appreciate the South African Govt to conserve this place and all the efforts made. Truly, our next generations will cherish this for many many years...

A remarkeble place to see the wild side of our country. With no doubt, this place is the most pollutant-free area I've ever seen. Only green and blue dominates. The love these animal species show towards each other is way better than most people can give.

A fantastic family friendly Park!

The largest wildlife park in South Africa and hosts the big five here as well. I always enjoy the park when I get here.

A few important points (in my opinion):

1 - If you are someone who doesn't enjoy long drives, looking and waiting to see animals or enjoying landscapes, then you might not enjoy this.

2 - No, you are definitely not guaranteed to see 'the famous cats' (lions, leopards and cheetahs). In fact, you are extremely lucky if you do, which is part of the fun.

3 - Continuing on my second point, you aren't guaranteed to see anything, except Impalas (antelope), they are as common as grass. It also depends where you look in the park.

4 - If you are going to go to the park, take up a hobby that makes it more fun. E.g. photography, get a 'kruger passport' at any of their shops and collect the stamps at all the gates and camps or just even keeping track how many times you spot specific animals. All of these gives you a sense of achievement.

5 - For the best experience, sleep over in the park a few nights and make sure you leave as soon as the gates of the camps open up, preferably close to water holes as a lot of animals go to drink water then.

6 - My last point, the sightings are extremely luck based as well. If you drive through the entire park (which is extremely big) you will maybe have seen 10% of the park. Also timing is so important and difficult, you can't calculate it and depends on luck. Sometimes a Leopard is spotted for 10 seconds only, which means, if you left your camp 10 seconds early or late, you would miss it.

**List of animals, difficulty to spot, starting at most common**

Safari vehicles think Kruger belongs to them. They think that they' ve got the right of way. They don't stick to the rules, that's cleary printed in the admission forms issued at the entry gates. At one point on the Skukuza Lowe Sabie road they blocked all the traffic. We were stuck for almost an hour due to them parked three next to each other and traffic had to pass on the verge of the road. One operator told me to f.... off when I asked them to clear the road.
