Wow awesome place, every nature lover has to experience KNP
To those who go to South Africa I recommend staying in the park and living the safari experience to be able to see the 5 big five
My favourite holiday spot. We come back every year and drive around for hours each day looking for game. This year we saw lots of elephants and giraffes. We saw all of the big 5 with numerous spectacular lion sightings, but only 1 distant rhino sighting. We heard of rhino killed by poachers near Phabeni gate which made us really angry. Unfortunately no wild dog sighting this year but we will be back next year again. Love this place!
Awesome awesome awesome. Croc bridge rest camp awesome
Done alone, with a rental car. Fun and unique experience!
A park pass ... With what your safari becomes something spectacular. You can see all the animals you can imagine, you have to look for and walk kilometers with the car.
Beautiful! Got to see so much with Kruger Pride Safaris. I highly recommend them. Jan was a brilliant guide.
ADULTS=R90
KIDS=R70
COOL PICNIC SITE FOR FULL FAMILY HOLIDAY DESTINATION
Beautiful park. Get a guide, don't just drive yourself. Bring a great camera and a telephoto lens.
Reasonably priced, tons of big animals, good guides and services
The animals were sort of hiding but I guess it's all about the perfect timing to get them when they are close to the roads. Although we didn't actually go in deep because of time but it's was a great experience
The Senalala Luxury Lodge was simply awesome. Well organised game drives, and experienced guides offer an incredible wildlife experience in the Kruger
The best park for watching the big 5 saw 5 leopards in 3 days great.
Numbi Gate... What a joke!!!!! Such a disappointment.. Been standing in the queue to get our permit to enter since 8am. Now 11:30am and we still in tge queue. There is only one cashier to take money and verify details on a long weekend!!!!!!!! Freaken embarrassing.. So many international tourists experiencing the same poor disgusting service
Highlight of our trip to Africa! We want to go back now. Sooo beautiful !!!
I loved the quiet and peaceful thank to our guide duncan for awesome game drive
Wonderful. One of my favorite places on earth. Best place for birding and game viewing
It is great but please keep it clean, it is not possible to see bottles of beer close to the road and other litters. People should not litter!
What an amazing experience! Everyone should try it!
Its a nice and quite place to destress you're self.... I'm enjoying each and every sec of it.... Love the view.... The sound of birds singing right in my ears..... Chiao
Super nice park you can drive in with your own car and explore the whole park on your own Big Five and much more
It's a very special national park where you can enjoy to see the natural life of an animals.big 5 animals available there. And the camps are amazing
Perfect location to watch all the animals at one place in their kingdom ______
Lucky they have a fantastic variety of animals.
This would have been another State run place to go down.
It is an experience to be around the wild animals, while the only protection you have is staying in your car, which would not help if an elephant is feeling threatened by your presence.
We saw elephants around every corner. We were also lucky enough to see leopards, buffalo, lions and all kinds of other animals. We saw all the animals next to the main tarred roads or even crossing the road in front of us.
We also saw some animals going down the gravel roads while enjoying nature.
Just note that bird watchers stop suddenly and you may wonder why you are not seeing the animal they are looking at.
one of the most colourful beautiful national park i ever visited... comparable just with peninsula - north west of the states... the grand canyon ... bryce canyon... yoshua tree park... yellowstone - the great ... the outback in australia... the blue mountains... the barrier riff ...
It's our paradise on earth and never disappoints. This time we stayed in Berg en Dal and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Exceptional, being able to drive with your own car independently makes the experience really fantastic.
Nice place to be wen you want to experience a wild life,
The park and seeing the animals is obviously great but almost all park facilities are decrepit, dirty and poorly run. Staff attitude also very poor in general.
Excellent experience especially in summer,,, makes U feel part nature....love the sunset priceless!!!
I love nature and Kruger I was passing by but the sound of the bad and the beautiful view call me to come closer. Will plan it better next time.
Great experience on a night drive in June, was rather chilly later on though
We will keep coming back to the beautiful Kruger National Park. Love it!!
The worst day is ALWAYS beter in Kruger......best place on earrh
Great variety of animals. Well maintained roads. Most of the camps has excellent little shops where the necessities like milk, bread, meat and loads of curios can be bought.
Nice experience richer. Drove around for 3 days with overnight in the park. Enjoyed many animals. Highly recommended!
Great to do with your own car. Both asphalt and off road roads.
Beautiful and authentic park. I hope to come back soon.
What can I say? The park is Amazing. Well maintained not too commercial . Still maintaining the wild bush feel.
A lot to do , a lot to see. If you are from SA or not , give this place a try. There are many camp sites available to stay at. (Camp sites don't just mean camping, there is also Chalets available.)
The park caters for all price ranges and service that I received was good.
Kruger National Park is South Africa s most popular safari destination.
The wildlife snobs don t call it a true experience as a lot of the roads are paved and tar, but we absolutely loved our day there. Much more than we thought we would.
Before the trip I didn t know the animals / wildlife are called game(s). And these safaris are called game drives.
I ve heard of big four in advertising industry, having worked at WPP and IPG Mediabrands. And the big four consulting firms PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (E&Y), Deloitte, and KPMG. But during the trip, I came to know of the big five here elephant, lion, rhinoceros, leopard and buffalo.
We chose to drive our own car, but you have the option to go in one of the organized tour jeeps too.
Depending on the season, the doors open at 5:30 or 6:00, and people start lining up from 4:00 or sooner. They say it s a good idea to secure your entry online, or risk getting to enter if you re too late.
Easter was supposed to be their busiest time, after Christmas. And that s when we were there. Bright and early, queued up at 5:00 in the morning. It was 6:15 or so by the time we got in, with about 35 cars ahead of us at the Phabeni gate, closet to where we stayed, based on where we d plan to enter from.
The sister and her husband had done all the planning and due diligence and our hotel guy told us to do this route. And that was plenty for the day.
Entering from Phabeni gate, we went to Skukuza. Soon after entering, we saw a group of giraffes and zebras, and that was a start to our game drive!
After getting to Skukuza, we ended up wasting 45 minutes to get coffee, because of long waits and lack of staff at Cattle Baron.
But those rest areas were very nicely done, full with kids play area and all, should you want to take a nice break.
From there, we were headed to Lower Sabie before digressing at a little dirt road because the hotel guy had told us there were water holes and high chances of spotting leopards, cheetahs there.
Well, we didn t spot those, but we did get to see plenty of elephants and two rhinoceros. Exactly two, up ahead.
Lots of deer family animals kudus and the likes, more zebras, plenty of African buffalos or Cape buffalos. A variety of birds that I don t recollect the names of. A snake or two. Owls. Hippopotamus.
More giraffes and few more zebras on the way.
A quick lunch stop at the Lower Sabie rest camp to pick up fries and a sad parfait from Mugg & Bean (we d carried some lunchies with us) and a few people talking about spotting a group of 10 lions / lionesses, we headed there.
Though we saw about three lionesses, it was far in. And the unprepared group that we were, without binoculars, I tried using the SLR and my phone to zoom in hard to get a look at the lioness s face.
One did oblige by looking in our direction, one was lying flat, like a log, and the other looked exactly in the opposite direction.
Spending some time here, hoping to get a more closer look, which we didn t, we headed ahead.
This time, towards the Tshokwane Picnic site.
The whole landscape setup and these animals in front of the gorgeous mountain backdrop was STUNNING, to say the least.
We had two kids under four, who couldn t care less, but us adults were going ga-ga over watching them games.
ELEPHANTS! HEART!
We weren t staying at the camps inside the park, so we had to exit the park by 6 PM. Which meant even though we drove past two groups of cars waiting, saying they spotted cheetah and leopard, we couldn t wait for long, lest be stuck inside and pay fines and risk safety after it got dark.
It was a beautiful day. And though we spotted four of the big five, the heart wanted more. I would ve been happier getting to see a handsome lion with chunky manes!
But, another time. Until then, I ll have that picture of the two rhinoceros and elephants etched in my memories. Vividly!

Always an amazing place to visit. Perfect for the family. We camped for 9 days and saw some amazing sightings. It was a great experience for the kids.
Come relax see the nature....phalaborwa gate or bende Mutale gate
We were in Letaba camp for the long weekend, it is well situated. The roads around the camp is well maintained. Of the big cats we saw leopard and cheeta. The elephants tends to be in the northern part of the park in winter and we saw big herds of elephant. Also saw a large number of rooibok, blouwildebeest, koedoe and much more.
