Great time at the World's First KOA! Close to Yellowstone River with an excellent mini put put golf course! I'm giving 4 stars as the spots were a little close together for the price, the pool and hot tub were closed mid-Sept, and there is no sauna despite their website suggesting otherwise.

Nicest showers and bathrooms, and certain people have to leave soap and razors laying around and mess things. I guess anywhere you go people have little respect for others. The Billings KOA is very nice along with fine workers. Thank you for working so hard. The Logan's Elroy wi.

We are tent campers preferring NFS campgrounds and usually do not stay at KOA. However we needed to get a shower and do laundry. THe tent sites are close together and not too private. THere is a camp kitchen near some of the sites which is helpful. The facilities here are great. There are 4 shower/toilet combos so you have your own room. They were very clean and look brand new with nicer tile that I have at home. That might not sound like enough but the place is mainly filled with these huge RVs so they do not need to use them. The laundry has 5 washing machines and 6 dryers. So you can get multiple loads done at once. There is mini golf a pool and a hot tub. There are bikes and pedal cars to rent. There is a game room which was closed when we were there. The cost for a tent was rather steep at $47. But we really were able to take care of the chores quickly and have some fun. The people who run this place are really nice. This is evidently the first KOA in the nation (I guess that means the world, universe etc)

Beautiful KOA! Tenting. well kept grounds, quiet, green and lush! Best surprise was the beautiful restroom and showers. Individual shower rooms more like a nice hotel than a campground. Good convenience store, pool and mini golf on site. Very comfortable stay... will be back!

I had a reservation for a one-room cabin, which I needed to postpone twice due to car issues. They were very accommodating, which I completely understood once I got there and saw how many cabins they have. Front desk staff was very friendly and the store had most things one would need.
Cabin was clean and included both a/c and a ceiling fan. The cabins were pretty close together, but since I was only there to sleep, that was no big deal. It would be very cramped with those in other cabins if you tried to use the picnic table or spend time outside your cabin.
Like one other review I saw, I also had trouble getting ahold of them by phone to adjust my reservation. Eventually I sat for 30 minutes redialing over and over until someone finally answered. Once they did, they were great. Availability by phone is definitely an area to be improved as people traveling may not have 30 minutes to continue hitting redial.
I would not recommend this KOA for a quiet getaway. I would recommend it for an overnight on a road trip or for a vacation with kids (mini golf, pool, etc). I'm not sure I would recommend for RVs, which is not my area of expertise, but those things were crammed in so tight, I couldn't imagine being able to manuever very easily or to enjoy time outside the camper.

This is s nicer KOA than most. We were just passing through so stayed one night, but it was so great that I looked for a similar one close to home so I can take my family. I m very impressed with KOAs in general.

Amazing...I love walking down to the Yellowstone river. (Fall...not summer) staff is so accommodating....stayed here, for over a month....a,wonderful experience. Sites are spaced very well, swing bench, fire rings and nice seating/picnic tables at all rv sites. So many deer....just beautiful. Loved my stay here...the best in Billings...hands down

VERY FEW FULL HOOKUPS! It is VERY VERY easy to not realize that there not a sewer hookup at MOST of the sites. We mistakenly booked a week here. Also, both campgrounds on this road are OVERPRICED BIG TIME! I'll say one positive, the KOA had good wifi but will try my hardest not to be back.

So we'll kept. Its the first KOA ever and it just keeps getting BETTER! Amazed that everyone gets there own swing 2 benches picnic table, fire pit all on their own walkway. Right out of their camper.

Great campground if you have kids and just driving through the area. They have a swimming pool and minigolf that kids loved. If you want nature this is not for you, A lot of road noise and overall city sounds. I have to add that they have the nicest bathrooms/ showers that I have seen in 20 years.

Loved our visit. My son had his Birthday, we spent the day playing mini golf and enjoyed the clean pool. The staff are super helpful. Very clean !! Lodges were fully stocked with everything you need, plenty of room to enjoy with a large group of people. We left our bike and they were so nice about getting it back to us. They take great care of this park.

There are really only two decent options for large rig RVs to stay in the Billings area, so the law of supply and demand makes for very high rates at both of these campgrounds. The only reason we stayed here in the first place was because we have relatives in the area. The Billings KOA is a very nice campground but at $50 a night, with no sewage hookup it is the most expensive place we have stayed in almost a year of full time RVing. This price was with a KOA discount card we purchased at the time we made our reservation. We have stayed at some very nice RV resorts in much more desirable locations and have payed far less. This is the first KOA we have stayed in so maybe the price is normal for KOA's.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful area with lots on amenities and activities. There is a goose 'infestation' so there is goose poop EVERYWHERE, despite the staff's best efforts to stay on top of it. There is a motocross track nearby so be prepared for the noise of that, though it's really not terrible at all. Bathrooms and showers are kept clean. 10/10 would stay here again. But we'll bring rubber gloves and plan to pick up poop.

What an absolute gem! This place should be a blueprint for how to make a great campground! Clean. Good spacing. Swing seats, fire pits, picnic table at all sites. Wo derful showers and laundry. Can't say enough. Good wifi and cable TV too. Swimming pool and hot tub not open yet but that was totally understandable. For what you get not overpriced. Some sites had full hook while others didn't have it all. Pretty much your choice and price reflects that. Booked and paid online. On arrival got a discount/credit because we had AAA.

The first Koa! This place is brilliant. Best mini golf ever. Pool was heated. Gift shop and well well stocked store. Laundry was cute in its own cabin. Excellent layout our site backed up to a lovely park. Yellowstone river runs behind the park. A large pond I'm told has excellent tadpoles and frog catching. Three cheers for the preschool playground which my son Loved! Best part was Yellowstone yum yum ice cream. Staff was friendly and hard working to keep this place beautiful. Truly enjoyed it. Love to come back.

The older side of this original KOA is very tight. For almost $60 a night, I would expect a sewer hookup. Thought it was over priced. It did have a very nice putt-putt course and a nice looking pool and hot tub. There is a BBQ restaurant on site which also seemed very pricey, but we didn't try it.

This is a pricey campground, but it is KOA's headquarters and often full. They have a large variety of campsites and it is a busy place in the office. Best to reserve online and not by phone, since they are often too busy to answer or return calls. Nice trails and the river is easy to get to. Our last stay was in September 2017.

Really liked this place! Super friendly and helpful staff. The spots are a little tight, but we splurged and got a sight with a patio. They were closer together than some other spots. Even though it was small, it was very nice and not as tight as other parks on our trip. We were supposed to stay for one night and liked it so much, we extended another day. Beautiful showers. It's almost like being at home the showers are so nice. Good laundry facility and a lot for kids to do. The office and c-store is well stocked. Very nice campground and if it was closer, we'd stay every chance we could.

We are full time RV'ers and have never found the perfect campground. Well, this is ours!!!!! We stayed in a deluxe patio site and it was gorgeous! Beautiful grounds, clean and green. Awesome staff, Hannah in the front office is the best !! Beautiful shade trees, sites wide and long, plenty of room for our 40' motorhome plus tow. We were here for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute.

Not sure what happened to this KOA, but I could only give one star because zero was not an option. No one was ever in the office; we were never welcomed or even spoken to; they turned off the water for 2 days and don t let anyone know. Did try to call to find out after we noticed it was off the first morning, but they never returned or answered our calls. Finally got an answer after texting them through their notification text number. They tried to blame it on broken pipes, but no work was ever down yet the water came back on two days later. We were never offered a discount for the issues or any apologies. Checked out three days early ( would have been 6 days if the weather was better) and the kid working the desk didn t even ask what site we were at nor did he say thanks for staying. I definitely expected more from the first KOA especially since this was not the first time by far that we stayed here, but it was the last.

Very clean, quiet and easy to get around. We arrived when the Covid-19 thing was going on and they were preparing to open. Dave the owner and his staff were very friendly and accommodating !
We really enjoyed or stay and walking along the Yellowstone River (before high water).

Friendly people. I had a quiet night sleep in the back near the pond. Pond didn't look good for swimming although I saw some kids trying to fish in it. Dog area was small esp considering there was only one such in a large park. Holiday Weekend; busy and expensive. I'm not fond of showers in small boxes with no windows so I skipped. Looks to be a fun place for kids, for me was okay for a night.

The amenities were great, miniature golf, swimming etc. but we were packed in like sardines into our pull through camp site. There was only about 15 feet between our gravel spot and our neighbors on either side. And then, to top that off, they charged our son $5.00 to come see us. Not cool on either of those point. The restrooms/shower rooms were nice and the breakfast was yummy, but again, we felt pretty cramped in. It was pretty expensive too. The grand kids loved the miniature golf and we all played several rounds of it.
