Great place . Good service. Great specials. Recommend

Our food was horrible, the portions were small. The service was great though, especially for a busy Saturday evening.

Food was good but the server was slow and not attentive at all. The food was excellent. Great place if you're not in a hurry and want to be left alone.

Very busy and crowded on a Saturday evening, but the food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the live music was pretty good also.

Went here a couple times during my undergrad time at UD. Fun at times, decently priced drinks but I preferred Deer Park. There was a bartender who deliberately ignored our requests for drinks one night, a group of us black girls, and we were just about to leave when I bumped into a manager and told him what happened. He gave us free drinks and apologized for the rude bartender. I respected him so much for that. We ended staying a bit longer and had a good time. Great management.

The best place on Newark main street you can have a brew and a meal! I loved everything!

Food is quite good if you know what to order (aka bar food, and a couple of known things ex penne vodka). Atmosphere is very nice, service is quick and the food is slightly above expectations. I'd recommend Kate's to anyone who's looking for a pleasant casual night out. Overall fun place with good pub food.

The daily specials are a good option, specially Monday's half priced burgers

Food is good but you're getting what you pay for, speed of service normally slow and often good is cold.... Which means it's just sitting in the back.

Hadn't been there for years and yet the place felt familiar. It was under renovation but the food was good and the service was first rate. Happy to spend time there with my family and an old college buddy.

Apparently they serve sushi here. I'll never return. Also for wine and dine they shove everyone into a back room

Service was okay. Out of my first choice of beer...on a Saturday afternoon. Nachos took a while to come out, then entrees came out very soon after. No complaints about the food.

Kate's is one of the best that Main Street Newark has to offer. Great food and atmosphere. Very much improved under the new ownership.

Football weekend brought out the crowds bit the service was less than I was used to. We seemed to have been forgotten. The food was still good however. Still consider it to be a good stop for lunch

Last night myself and 7 other of my friends decided to come here for half priced burger night. Upon getting situated and getting our drinks ordered, we had all made up our mind on what we wanted to order for our meal. Everyone ordered a burger, whether it was a create your own, or one of their specials on the menu. After ordering it took us over 45 minutes to receive our burgers. We understood we had a large party but it seemed a little lengthy, the waitress returns to tell us somehow three of the burgers "accidently got voided". So once the burgers were finally delivered to us, the waitress didn't even know what food she was brining out and had to go back to the kitchen to ask the cooks what she was brining out. Needless to say making her food runner look like an idiot, she only delivered 5 out of the 7 burgers and it was another 15 minutes before the final two burgers eventually were delivered. At this point everyone else had already been finished with their meal. Not to mention I received 6 fries with my meal....literally 6, yes I counted. Our food was cold and the service was absolutely terrible. Never will I eat here again nor recommended to anyone, ever! Extremely disappointed.

We went there today for lunch, 10/08, they are closed for renovations.

Lived in the area my whole life and never visited here before. That being said I never knew what I was missing, excellent atmosphere delicious food and the service staff was fabulous.

Table of 7 everyone liked their burger but me. Asked for medium rare but got medium, not quite dry but not juicy the way I like it. They usually do a good job all around still true I guess only 1/7th was bad. Fries were just warm, asked for them to be hot. My food was the only problem...someone has to loose.

Rotting food between the slats of the booth benches. Not much flavor to the food.

Good experience. Our waiter Jack was exceptional. Saw him take over other tables when their wait staff was unavailable. Don't see that often...kudos to Jack! Food was good and worth the price.

Nice outdoor seating. This was a fabulous place to have a relaxing dinner enjoying the fall weather during UD homecoming weekend. We will certain return here on our next visit to UD.

Great nachos, good wings, but the service was unenthusiastic and slow.

I've worked in Newark for over 25 years, and have eaten at Kate's countless times. Simply put, for combination of atmosphere, food, service and price, it can't be beat. The daily lunch specials, particularly the Wed. half-price salads or sandwiches, are really an amazingly great deal. My favorite is Ahi Tuna, sandwich or salad. Moreover, they'll even do these for take-out. Folks are also real friendly and give great service. Bottom line, my favorite restaurant for casual lunch or dinner.

They catered my book clubs luncheon. Nice space, great food and atmosphere. Very helpful staff.

Very sad tonight as I walked into Klondike Kate's. The promise that things would not change was not held up! Klondike Kate's was historic. From the first time we came back since it changed hands it changed. Luckily the staff is still nice!

Good rustic atmosphere and friendly bar tenders. Solid food.

Nachos were mediocre at best. If you have a gluten allergy, there is no dedicated fryer, which leaves you with limited options. Drinks were well priced.

Well-known place on Main Street. Love their half- priced nachos on Tuesdays.

Service was poor and actually had my credit card over-charged. Spent almost 3 hours for dinner.

Kate's has great specials on weekdays. The nachos are huge.

The lady who answered the phone was very rude. We have never been here before we asked what type of music they were playing. Her response was "club music like he always does". Just tryna figure out how we were suppose to know this? And no tolerance for rudeness when we are paying you.

Great service, good food...Construction sucks but was a nice day to eat outside otherwise!

I'm only giving 3 stars because I have only been here once so far since the change in ownership. I'm not to happy on their choices for sides I believe over half of the sides are potatoes of some sort. Crab stuffed pretzels were not great but the crab raviolis were amazing!

First time there. The food had a excellent taste and the atmosphere was very inviting.

The chicken wings had way to much batter on them unlike my previous visit!I won't be back for a while!

This is a staple bar in the college scene at University of Delaware. It has a great atmosphere and great food. I would recommend the nacho's on Wednesday's (theres a special at that time)

Place is pretty cool. They have a great menu. Lots of buffalo chicken options. Beer specials are awesome! Our server, Kat was really awesome. I'll come back just to see her!

Monday night Trivia Night. Great atmosphere, Travis at the bar is top notch.

There's a lot of great history in this local landmark. I recommend the Sunday brunch.

Such a cool place, delicious food and reasonably priced. Parking is terrible but the validate parking.

My wife and I enjoyed a great date night on a Friday evening. This being UofD territory, Klondike Kate s can get really crowded during the school year, but this time we didn t have to wait at all!

The hostess and waiting staff are friendly, attentive (though at times busy). I got a Crab Bisque soup (cream based). I m pretty picky about crab bisque, and this one did not fail to please! It s a nice big portion for a cup .

I ordered the fish tacos and my wife got beef fajitas with a salad. The food presentation is great (surprisingly for a college area joint) and the food was hot and tasty!

The waitress kept our drinks topped off, and was within eye sight the whole time.

We enjoyed the food, and got to enjoy a life musician on a guitar playing cool hits. The music volume was comfortable, so my wife and I could chat and enjoy our time together!

We commented on the vintage stained glass windows onside, and I recall hearing stories of the long history of this location. Loved it.

Typical college town Watering Hole. The only time I go there things to take advantage of their half-price offers which brings them down into the reasonable range price wise.
