Serious Racial Discrimination...first time..I never got this feeling before in United States ..The yellow shirt bouncer very racist ..unfortunately I was a bit drunk that time..I sit on a chair wait my friend to pick me back home...but he said "you can't sit right here ..if you still want to sit right here I will let cops coming and you will never come back again.."excuse me??for what??I don't know why but yes I am a good behavior Asian person ,I don't want to be embarrassing at that place i just left that place.yes I will Never get there again

It was very horrible they said 25 minute for my food to be ready and I waited over an hour for my food never going there again

I sat at the outdoor area in the summer and it was pleasant. The restaurant used to be a favorite of mine about 15 years ago, but today not so much. I was so disappointed at the amount of drunk college students present. The restroom was disgusting with TP all over the floor and used paper towels overflowing the trash. Sink was a mess. My hamburger was just OK, my dining partner loved her crab/avocado dish. Beer selection was not great. The inside was overcrowded with little walking space between tables. I probably will not go back.

Pretty fire dj mixing older hits and modern slappers. Kate's punch also slaps. Lots of dimepieces and bros just Looking to booze and rage the night away. Wish they were open past 1 though, but I don't think they can control that.

Under new ownership. Hamburgers now fresh. Place is getting a make over on both floors. Menu is also being revamped. Excited to see new ideas and money going into this U of D landmark.

We had our rehersal dinner there on July 1st. The manager went out of his way to ensure our food choices and set up for 65 people. The food was fabulous and they even packaged left overs. They will adjust the menu to your needs. This would be my top choice again for any party. Great staff and service.

This is a gem in Newark. Being on the UD campus, there's a college feel to it. However, I got the impression it's more of an alumni place. Good alcohol selection, and reasonably priced. Also, a lot of new menu items that looked good. This is certainly a place that we'll be back to. As my wife (a UD grad) said, "Kate's is an institution".

Great place for brunch. The fried chicken salad was awesome!

Not a bad spot, I could have come in on an off-day. I am giving them a 3-star rating because 1) The waiter I had was not very attentive of my table, 2) They were out of over 6 different food and beverage items that I requested, and 3) Food wasn't fantastic, but the drinks were pretty good.
I will say that the atmosphere is very nice. Do not take my review as a bad one, like I said I might have just came in on an off-day.

Service was just ok, atmosphere was ok, food wasn't the best. Presentation was fine, but wasn't very tasty. I'm also a little wary when the waitress brings your drink with the wrapper already off the straw and in your drink... Don't think I'll be returning to this place.

Klondike Kate's is a Newark fixture. Their food was good, but was fairly lacking in selection. Lots of seafood. Their catering is especially sub-par. The wait staff is also pretty slow, although it might have just been because they were busy. The place is always packed, so take from that what you will.

Not a great selection...only one table for 5 or more

Great Sunday brunch and bloody Mary bar as well. Service with a smile. Love it!

Good drinks, interesting and reasonably-priced food. The crab-stuffed pretzel app is an absolute must. Surprisingly varied menu, as well. Just be forewarned: music and atmosphere is generated for the college crowd, so if you're looking for a peaceful, subdued dinner, this place won't be for you.

Great food and service! PLEASE, train your staff to simply return the check with change instead of rudely asking "How much change would you like?" Or the other which is just as rude "Do you need change?" IF I choose to tell the server "Keep the change." That is my choice, not theirs!

Nachos are amazing, especially on Tuesdays. Environment is chill but well populated.

Casual atmosphere but not a dive, friendly waitstaff, good pub fare with a decent variety of gluten free options, fun specialty cocktails. Not overrun with college students until evening. Known for their nachos (real cheese and lots of it).

Slightly nicer version of Deer Park, with average, reasonably priced food

Food: Nothing is great here, well maybe the nachos

Atmosphere: Quirky little bar scene, despite its flaws is always hugely popular with locals

What used to be one of my favorite college bars ended up being the place where I shared brunch with my wife after my wedding. Still great after so much time.

Meh. Nothing special. I've been 4-5 times with large parties, and EVERY time, one of our meals is 10 minutes later than the other ones. Food is decent, not bad, not amazing. If you're looking for a very average experience, go to KK's.

One of the best Southern Fried Chicken salads I've ever had. Great service.

This is a great place to eat. We always stop here on our way to Bethany Beach from our home near Harrisburg. Really great food!

Festive college town hang out. Weekend brunch is a big thing at Klondike Kate's. In December they do fun, over-the-top Christmas decorations and theme drinks. The food is pretty good and they have some happy hour specials worth trying. If you find yourself in Newark, DE it's definitely worth stopping in.

Staff was great, for was just okay, not bad, but not a chart topper.

Solid bar with a nice atmosphere. Lots of dark wood on the interior which I love. The food is not the best on Main St, but is definitely solid for comfort food. A few of the menu items are more upscale for sure. Great beer selection and bar. Overall a solid place to chill. They have very nice outdoor seating as well!

We had a large private party that was absolutely great.very accommodating and great menu.

The food is good and drinks are good as well. Fiance said the bloody Mary was delicious. The atmosphere is very "college student" but what do you expect going to Main Street. The live music was nice, though a little loud and hard to hear ourselves talking.

The staff are very friendly and attentive as for the food it was passable.

1st timer to this establishment. The service was fast and friendly. Small brunch menu but good stuff on it. Crab & asparagus omelet very good ( not overly seasoned ) steak & peppers griddle was good. While the side; the hash browns, surprisingly stole the show. Not to mention, fix your own mamosa (fruit, toppers, flavors) or bloody Mary (same and hot pepper sauces galore) for only $4. . Best of all while there, started looking at what other people had ordered. My wife and I both had plate envy. Can't wait to come back and try something different.

Food was very good .. sat at the bar and the service was great. Everyone in my family really enjoys the male bartenders at kates. So we plan on going only when they work.

My absolute favorite place on Main Street. Whenever anyone needs a good restaurant recommendation I always recommend Kate's.

First off, let me talk about the reservation system. Kate's makes it so easy to make reservations by calling and if it's too late to make a reservation they will put you name on the wait list so you're not wasting time on the way there. Kate's will send you a text and call you when your table is ready and are really flexible when it comes to you being a little late as long as you let them know ahead of time.

Second off, the waitstaff is always incredibly friendly and happy to recommend you their favorite items on the menu.

Speaking of the menu everything I have ordered has been consistently amazing. Kate's gets a lot of attention for their nachos and it's not for no reason. Their nachos are delicious and the portions are huge! When coming here with my boyfriend the small plate of nachos was enough to fill both of us up before we even got out main entree! We didn't even make it through the entire plate before we felt like we were going to burst. The Trash Can nachos are my favorite and are a little pricey, but if you go on Tuesdays the nachos are half off.

I've also had many of Kate's sandwiches and other appetizers as well. The Chicken Press is a great sandwich and they do the French Dip very well. Kate's wings were also great and I was happy they were not too spicy, I'm a little sensitive when it comes to spice.

Kate's has the perfect environment for Main Street and is both a great for adults to enjoy drinks and for families looking to get a good bite. Can't wait to be back in Delaware this Fall to come back to Kate's again!

Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic!! First time I've been here and, sad to say I won't be in the area again otherwise I would definitely go back.

it's hard to mess up breakfast but good god..."over easy" eggs were pretty much hard boiled, potatoes eh, sausage and scrapple horrible. entire staff eating in the kitchen in front of us...should have known better walking into an empty brunch place on a saturday. nothing against this place but damn...$30 pretty much pissing into the wind.

The food is subpar. Service was horrible . I will not be returning

Been to Klondike Kate's more than a few times. Great staff and incredible food. Bartenders are always on point. Love when they host the early morning after run parties.

Haven't been there in many years but I was pleased that the place seems brighter and nicer than I remember. The menu had a nice range of selections and the food was pretty good - not great, but pretty good. Overall, I would like to go back and try some other menu items.

Nothing special here unless you grew up in Newark, much better places to eat and drink.

A great place to meet up for lunch, a semi-casual dinner, or drinks. Kid friendly menu is sure to please everyone!

Fun place to go. Drink prices are good. I like how they're tied into Chesapeake Inn now. I just wish the top floor was bigger. It gets a little crowded. Bathrooms definitely need an expansion. Maybe they could combine the side room with the big room and reconfigure it. But, overall a great place.

Definitely one of the best places on Main Street for a night out. Only down fall is the amount of space upstairs.. it gets a little tight with the amount of people that are usually up there, which leads to longer wait times for drinks.

Now this is a fun place! Im from philly and I was honestly impressed by the hospitality of the UD students. It's a nice venue with undiluted alcohol and a great place to dance and hang out. I really hope I get to visit again soon

My 4 year old daughter and I went for a birthday lunch. Got a pizza and chicken tenders. She ate everything!

Contacted several time for party information and received the run around. Staff promised Brandon would return my call and get info sent via email with no luck. Don't waste your time here!!!
