Cutest little all day breakfast spot around! They serve non-breakfast items as well, but why would you order that?

I had the tomato and artichoke omelet and it was just so delicious, and pretty big too. It came with potatoes which were nicely seasoned and not dry at all, and a big biscuit. I didn't love the biscuit, that was a little dry, but the peach jam that comes with it was spectacular.

The prices are a little higher than I'd like, but it's a fun looking place and the food really is delicious.

And you can make reservations in advance which is a plus!

reasonable but unexceptional food. friendly service. decor gives a welcome breath of big-city nyc interest to a neighborhood with generally uninteresting -- albeit much improved in recent years -- eateries.

Food was excellent. Sampled fellow diner's winter salad, which was probably the best salad I've ever eaten. Chicken and biscuits was great (at least the biscuits and gravy part). Flavorful and tasted like home cooking. I had the chickpea burger, which came with mashed sweet potato. It was so filling that I couldn't even finish it all. I wish I'd saved some space for dessert because their second tier milkshakes sounded ridiculous! Service was great too, very helpful staff. I hope to come back here in the future.

What happened?

What happened?

Kitchenette has been my go to when I've wanted to splurge on lunch. I've raved about their blue cheese burgers to all my co-workers and my son has enjoyed their milkshakes calling them second to none. Today I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and large vanilla cupcake (- yeah it was that kinda day). HORRIBLE - the Caesar base was kale - not my favorite leafy green - something that should have been mentioned in the menu. The croutons were missing and the grilled chicken was hard as nails. Having spent $21 dollars on lunch - I would have liked to have at least enjoyed it.

Tight squeeze but good place for a brunch and very family-oriented (so if you don't like screaming kids - go at a later time but I think it's okay). Food is good...hostesses are friendly and welcoming.

Any place that has the obscure but wonderful breakfast item called Hole In The Bread on the menu is worth going to. Get the grits as your side. They are perfectly buttered and salted. The fresh apricot jam was heaven. Great coffee. Cute atmosphere. Well stocked bakery cases. We were there right as they opened and deliveries of fresh ingredients were being made throughout our meal which is nice to see. No powdered eggs or brown and serve frozen hash browns! It's so refreshing to eat real food, not processed garbage. Highly recommend!

The only food I have had here is the burger - pretty good with large cut fries. But I used to come in once a week for the big sugar cookies. Delicious! Staff is always very friendly. Uptown location is good as well.

Very "southern big breakfast" meals. Only open for lunch and breakfast. Good food, though a bit high in fat and sugar. Friendly staff. A bit cramped, but then again, this is New York. They sell cupcakes that I've been meaning to try, because they sure look good. I'm just always full when I leave, so I never end up getting one.

I've got mixed thoughts on this place. I popped in here for dessert and some drinks. The staff was just sitting around and seemed annoyed when guests came in. We ordered some dessert (I got a brownie sunday, the brownie was kinda dry) and my friends got already made pastries. instead of them all coming to the table at once they brought the pastries first and my sunday 10 minutes later so my friends had to wait for me to eat. I also got a coffee and it was watered down and cold. Bad experience at first but after telling the manager they started bringing free drinks (apple cider champagne and homemade pumpkin beer) and that seemed to make up for things although they ran out of blue moon which they used to make their beer and it took 20 minutes for a second round. Maybe it was an off night but I don't see myself returning for any reason

I had breakfast at Kitchenette (Tribeca location) a few years ago and remember the food being great and the portions being so large I could barely finish my meal. Today, I ignored the chance to have a full, complementary breakfast at my hotel and hoofed it down to Kitchenette for another visit. Wow, what a disappointment. I ordered an omelette with potatoes and a biscuit and when the food arrived I almost cried. Although it was still tasty, the portions were ridiculously small. I'm a big guy and wasn't expecting a plate fit for a sumo wrestler, but the child's plate was not what I had in mind. Making matters worse, the tab came to just under $14 and I noticed after I ordered they have a $5 special during the week that probably was as much food. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and will not return. No big loss, there are plenty of other little breakfast dives all over the city that deliver plenty of taste and value.

Good diner-y food in a more creative setting. Have never had a bad dish here, though none of them are crazy good standouts, either. I think the breakfast offerings edge out the other options here for me. Also, the cakes and pies are worth indulging for - they taste homemade!

A little bit of a subway ride if you are downtown, but in my opinion - worth it! Take D to 125th. Short walk from there. We had a great breakfast on Sunday morning with eggs that were exactly as ordered, a large portion of thick, quality bacon, and a baked french toast that was like bread pudding. Excellent taste, but way too much for my appetite. I would definitely return, and I recommend it for great breakfast.

They have amazing smoothies, but otherwise I really don't care for their food. Every time my office orders from here, all the entrees seem very disappointing. I then dig into my overpriced strawberry shortcake milkshake and forget about the rest of the world. I would totally eat here again for those, not for the food.
