Wonderful views, friendly staff. Though shower facilities for a place this large were lacking.

This magical place is the home of international scouting. The Permanent Jamboree! The world comes to one at KISC.
What's not to love about KISC? Scouts of the world unite!
Just nice the 12 days I could spend as a scout there were very nice you can only recommend
Absolutely fantastic Scout camp, can't recommend highly enough.
KISC is such a great place! I stayed in the chalet for 1 week and loved it. The views are great, the program is amazing, the pinkies are super friendly, and it's super easy to meet new international friends. The mini permanent jamboree Lord Baden Powell envisioned is truly what this place has become. I also really liked Olav the cat. I would highly recommend KISC to any scouts or scouters for the great activities and the feeling of jamboree.
Having a great time with the GLMW expedition. The pinkies are very friendly and helpful.
Great atmosphere for Scouting and family adventures. Pinkies are really helpful and friendly.
it was amazing food was fab and the atmosphere there was super
Every two years the legendary BezPfila of the Pfadiberner Oberland takes place here. But there are also plenty of international and national camps and courses here. The center is very well organized and offers all kinds of support for the guests (pinkeys are happy to help). In addition to the campgrounds there is also a lodge with rooms in Jugenherberge style. Wonderful starting point for all sorts of sportive mountain adventures.
One of the best international scout centers there are. There are a lot of activities which are organised bij the camp staff and you can find a lot of activities in the area like beautifull walks in the mountains, extreme sports like canyoning and visiting villages close by.
Excellent infrastructure and prices, absurdly receptive and prepared staff. There is the option of camping but the rooms are very good too. There is good logistics for activities inside and outside the KISC. One of the best places I've ever been.
Went here a while ago in the summer and it was beautiful, a great international scout camp. The pitches are great and it is located not too far from the local town where you can just walk down in about less than 15 minutes. The scenery just from within the valley is amazing. On a morning, it's usually cold for a while till the sun manages to show it'self over the ridges but once it does that it usually warms up quite quickly.
10/10 an amazing place. The food, the mountains, the staff such a wow!!
Great location, great people. Lots of fun activities in the area.
that was awesome
meeting people, enjoy views,camping... just love it
Lovely place with great pepole. Thank you a lot for everything!
Ski guides were excellent, as were the rest of the pinkies. Accommodation basic but nicely furnished and comfortable. Evening activities we'll run. An overall fantastic place to visit
Wonderful, had a fantastic time with our scouts and explorers. Couldn t recommend more highly
Beautiful mountains and a beautiful campsite or a nice place to stay. Hikes are well organized by the staff.
Friendly hotel with a great view of the mountains. The food is very tasty there
The scenic location is breathtaking and easily accessed via the public transportation in Switzerland. This is a must visit site for anyone involved in Scouting. There are a variety of lodging, meal and activity options and the hospitality, especially during my stay over Christmas Eve and Day, was amazing. KISC appeared to have every opportunity available during the regular winter season available during our holiday special as well as some special surprise programming. Groups large and small were welcome, as well as family visitors.
Some activities had minimum group sizes and this is made well known in marketing as well as during the booking process, however this did not impact my stay. The opportunities for international meeting and greeting as well as the potential for adventure in and around Kandersteg make a stay of any nature worthwhile.
And remember to wear a scout scarf and ride the village bus free.
If you are a scout you have to come yes or yes. Learn about Scouting in other countries, discover new cultures and make international friends, all surrounded by breathtaking views.
Great camp with lots to do. Loved every moment of it
I found this place by accident as I was wandering around the Kander Valley. This is a beautiful campus and all the scouts I saw looked like they were having so much fun!
As always Kandersteg was more than amazing! The pinkies STS/LTS were of amazing help and my Explorer got a quite good idea of scouting worldwide. Thanks for this amazing display! I'm quite sure i won't be the only one returning to KISC. Cheers!
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. Very competitive prices. A wonderful no frills option.
Awesome mountains with a Clean store with souvenirs.
Food is alright, rice is salty and there's a lot of it, staff seem really tired but nice and its a great place to meet people from all over the world
Absolutely amazing and reminds me of why I am a scout
It is a good place to make friends, get to know new cultures, visit unimaginable sites
We visited the Kanderstag Scout centre circa 1962 with a travelling party from the 96th Glasgow Boy Scout Troop. We arrived in Kanderstag by train quite late at night. It was only a short-hop (circa 2km) from the rail station to the Scout Centre and recall it being pitch-dark as we walked there. So it was only when we awoke in the morning that we fully realised the Alpine majesty of the place. A breathtaking moment, never forgotten, still have a walking-stick we bought there, all these years later.
As a proud Scottish troop we wore the 'kilt' with a Baden-Powell Scout Hat and a tartan muffler as part of our full-dress regalia, and we really caused a bit of a stir as a result when on parade.
Kandersteg itself is a small traditional Swiss village located in the UNESCO World Heritage Alpine region of Jungfrau-Aletsch.
One of the most amazing places on earth. And you get memories for life
This place is heaven for scouts. People here are friendly and kind. Services are top and have a lot of choices of activities at all stations or the year
kISC is an amazing place to be. It is a lovely campsite with good facilities. Lots of activities and so much walking. It has views to match any all around, especially going into Gasterntal. It s a place to hike the dream.
Great service with many activities and possibilities. Too bad for the price too high
Amazing time, great experience and adventure, never miss to be there
Camped for Cp Alpine 2017. The views were fantastic! So much to do. The campground and facilities were good.
As usual, amazing experience at KISC ! I really appreciate the fact that everything is designed to welcome large groups. Every leader knows how hard it is to travel with their troop, and KISC takes out most of the struggle.
A unique place for the scouting community !
Obviously the place is idyllic, the pinkies are wonderful and the facilities are cool, but they charge you for everything and enough and I feel that the operation of the place is not well explained as really almost anything. Even with everything, to return once and a thousand times, this time with everything learned.
Amazing scenery and cringy campfires perfect for scouts.
Great personal, beautiful area and fun activities for scout groups
Beautiful Area. Plenty to do. Staff are ok. Please work on how you run the recycling centre during busy times. Like a queueing system. When I was there a staff member argued with a leader.
Gorgeous campground with plenty of helpful staff make this scout camp (but open to everyone) a great spot to spend a weekend, week, or summer. Kandersteg offers so many beautiful hikes and other outdoor activities like canyoning that everyone can find something to enjoy. The amazing Oeschinenesee is a short walk away and should not be missed. This camp is full of young staff (affectionately called "Pinkies" that go above and beyond to help every visitor have a memorable trip.
Good price/performance ratio. Friendly staff. Very shady place in winter. In summer an ideal base for different hikes. Permanent train noise.
Kandersteg is not Kandersteg without the Scouts simply. The scouts from all over the world bring life, openness, other things. That's a good thing.
A great place to meet great people from all around the world!
Amazing place to spend your holidays with friends, family or even with big group. You can find a lot of activities around which center program team propose for guests. Also you can just hike and enjoy natural beauty. You can find here a lot of different routes for hikes. Prise to stay in center really low. One of the reason because all staff is a volunteers from around the world and you can meet here people from Europe, Africa, America, New Zeland... if you are Scout prise for you will be less and also you can be a volunteer here and have exepiriense to leave and work in International Scout Center. You can choose different kind of rooms orstay with your tent in Camp side. You can have here also breackfast, lunch and dinner, or rent a kitchen (or some equipment for camp side) and cook.
An amazing place, came here this summer. 10/10 experience, highly recommend it, staff are very friendly
What do I need to say? A very beautiful place to be. There are mountains, snow, lots of stuff to see and do and wonderful people.
Ive been visiting here a lot and I will many more times.
Great place with stunning scenery. Highly recommend.
A very wonderful international scout center in the city of Kandersteg - Switzerland
Come and enjoy the friendly and peaceful environment here in KISC as a part of scout movement. You can enjoy the activities for different seasons. Hiking in impressive swiss mountains and valleys, visiting beautiful lakes, skiing, trying the finnish sauna or having a chill night with a fireplace with your friends.
Scouting site run by scouts, everyone is willing to help and communication is very open and flexible. It is a shame that we are just in between the seasons, so that summer activities have just closed, but winter activities have not started yet, but it is nice and quiet on the property. Accommodation is very well cared for and always clean and tidy, there are warm interior spaces where you can relax and read books or play games. The area is very beautiful and attractive, mountains and a river. A fantastic experience and certainly a must for every scout, but actually for everyone. There is a lot of room to sleep in rooms, or to camp outside.
Overall a really great place to camp. An electric kettle for campers would really be great though.
