Great atmosphere. Good facilities and amenities. Not enough food stalls / counters. Plenty booze / drink counters.
Overall, I expected a bigger ground. Its a pity the capacity is only 25000.

Excellent venue for a day out at the cricket. My 6th visit to the oval to watch test match cricket and never disappoints, well except for when it rains. My favourite viewing area has to be the OCS balcony, not the cheapest seat in the More

The stands keep improving and getting bigger, but at the expense of space behind the stands, which can be suffocatingly overcrowded if you fancy a stroll around the ground during lunch on a Test Match day.

We went here last week with my husband. The atmosphere is really great. Staff was really very concerned and polite. They told us where to sit. It's really crowded in big games. Therefore, it is better to go early.

I watched Australia vs England ashes test match and I was in the bedser stand and that's exactly where the dressing rooms are and you can be really close to the cricketers... however no bar or restaurant was taking cash and it was all payable by card.

Good place to watch the t20 cricket after work. Surprisingly good selection of beers at the bars, the queues move pretty quickly and you can easily carry 3 pints in one hand with the reusable plastic pints with handles that they use! Decent choice of food options too, I went for the pizza which was tasty!

Cricket practice at the Oval nets. Great place to practice playing cricket. Steeped in history and yet it's easily available for net practice! What unadulterated childish joy! Don't forget to bring all your kit including balls as they won't provide you with any equipment!

WELL I LOVE CRICKET,AND AS A FAN WENT HERE
ON MANY OCCASIONS. MY MUM LIVED IN BRIXTON,WHICH IS JUST UP THE ROAD.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CRICKET GROUNDS.
IN 1960,I MANAGED THE PUB AT THE GROUND
FOR 4 WEEKS,WHILE THE LANDLORD TOOK A HOLIDAY. ONE OF 20 PUBS I MANAGED FOR
WATNEYS ,BEFORE GETTING MY OWN PUB IN
KINGSTON IF YOU LOVE CRICKET,YOU MUST GO
TO A GAME AT THE OVAL,OR YOU HAVNT LIVED.

Great ground, great atmosphere
Very easy to get to from the oval tube station, literally across the road, food and drink was a bit pricey but you expect this in London at an England game

I ask myself: is this the most overpriced, self-regarding and unwelcoming sporting venue in the UK after attending the first World Cup match. I had a criminally overpriced ticket (which a friend paid for) and had to undergo a lengthy, graceless (and fatuous) process that was trying to prevent alcohol being brought in, to find limited facilities, poor food with insufficient outlets and a refusal to allow cash- presumably in the hope that people would not notice just how expensive the food and drink was. Then at the end, we were almost herded out of the ground as soon as the game finished, although it ended early, and an attempt to find something vaguely edible was blocked by zealous and rude stewards who just wanted to get people out as quickly as they could. A vile experience; I STRONGLY recommend anyone with a limited budget to go to the infinitely nicer Lord's or Trent Bridge instead, and watch games from The Oval on TV.
