I have been coming here to use the gym for a few years, but was recently harrassed by man who was on the board of the KCC in the parking lot. I had parked in the lot, as instructed by my employers, while I was giving a concert for ASK Friendship Centre across the street, and he told my brass quintet not to park here as it was only for the KCC, and we apologized. Ten minutes later, the man followed me in his car while I was walking to my car, screaming at me and yelling obscenities, and he blocked my car in with his car so I couldn't leave. He took pictures of me and of my car, and banged on my car windows, all because he wanted to tell me again not to park here, though my brass quintet and I had already apologized to him. Following me, physically blocking me from leaving, and yelling and swearing at me was very scary and I feel very bad about the incident. I reported it, and received a disappointing apology letter from the KCC at the request of my employers. The letter was making excuses for his behavior, which he honestly could have been arrested for if I had called the police. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe coming here anymore, knowing that no action has been taken to remove this aggressive man from his position in KCC. Though I am losing money by not using my gym pass, I have not come to the KCC since and have no plans to return.

I love it! Super family oriented. The roof to the pool leaks but it doesn't affect anything too much.
The pool itself is a bit rundown but it's great for teaching kids to swim. Or for learning to play water polo with the Vancouver Vipers on Sunday!

Really like this community centre. Friendly and helpful staff, and has everything you need. You can go for a swim, go to the gym, play pool and then grab a book at the library. No place compares to this place, and prices are very good.

This quaint older community centre has all the amenities and programs. They also have an indoor swimming pool and operate Cyclone Taylor Arena (skating and inflatables play place in the summer). There is an associated seniors centre and Vancouver Public Library also. Free surface parking for patrons or street parking (meters, free, lot).

My daughter came home with lice from a skating field trip there today. I'm disgusted that they are renting out filthy infested gear. They clearly don't care about the well being of their customers. Stay clear!

Well used centre, with many programs supported by enthusiastic volunteers. Seniors Centre has very reasonably priced lunches and snacks. Many seniors come everyday as much for the company as the food. Meals are good and good value.

I use this centre to work out and it is great! The prices are great for my work outs. Definitely an affordable way to work out! Overall great community centre, however the bathrooms could do with a better clean. Usually smelly.

Kerrisdale community centre is a great location for our partnership program, UBC BodyWorks!

The space is very accommodating and the programming staff have been excellent to work alongside over the years!

Our renowned Changing Aging program has provided tremendous support to our Kinesiology students' learning in addition to community engagement!

This program provides participants with a thorough 30 minute screening at UBC prior to the class commencing to ensure baseline health is recorded and exercise modifications are given!

Thank you Kerrisdale for accommodating our research supported program within your community!

Only go for the fitness center as it has everything I need. The staff works super slow and are not friendly. They'll talk amongst each other and not awknowledge your presence when you need help. Seems to take weeks for a broken machine to get fixed.

A great place to come for a quick workout or swim!...

A great place to come for a quick workout or swim! They have a good selection of cardio equipment and easy to use weight equipment. They also have a separate area for weight lifting. There s two squat racks! Amazing! The bars have good knurlings that doesn t make it slippery. They also have little mats for when you want to deadlift. One rule to powerlifting in this gym is to not do what you don t know... So, please don t do any jerky upward/downward movements as it s a safety precaution to yourself and other participants around you. The gym is also an unsupervised area ( there s a large warning sign for everyone to read). The two downsides to the gym is that the weight room is a bit too cozy for me and that the upholstery for the bench is well worn out. This just means whenever I did bench, I found my shoulders slipping and I couldn t properly make my back arch because of it. There are also cubbies and lockers to use. However, you would need to bring your own lock.

The pool is a excellent cool temperature for swimming lengths. The pool water is clear and isn t murky. They have a master s swim program in a binder where you can follow the set workout. There s also a very popular aquacize/aquafit classes here with terrific music selection. The pool length is a standard 25M and has a good depth!

Overall, a fantastic community to workout and socialize. Everyone is welcoming and warm! I would definitely recommend friends and family to come try it out.

I had a couple older men ogling my chest while on the elliptical. Equipment is nice, other patrons were kind, receptionist was talking with other employees and was very unenthused when speaking to us. Smelled strongly of chlorine (which I like) but others might be more sensitive. Parking lot was a bit of a nightmare and if you can't find a parking spot be prepared to back out haphazardly.

It is always a good thing to have a community centre close to where we live...but apart from that, this one on kerrisdale is probably the worst staffed of any of the community centers I have been to, and if not for it being so close, and the wonderful teachers at the pre school, I would not want to use any of its facilities.
The front desk staff are downright rude and disrespectful and I have had no luck getting any cheerful help from them.
I did meet one of the supervisors who was decent enough to listen and promised to look into a complain.
Kudos to the library staff as well!

I'm a regular. The Gym is very small. The free weight room is not supervised. What this means is young people who are new to lifting weights (an some who are not), love to drop them from a distance and make huge crashing noises like there they are the only ones there. They often lift weights that are too heavy to control (and are ruining their joints but don't know it yet). Even though there are many signs saying don't drop free weights. You want to get big? Do less weights but tons more reps. "Many" people are seen dead lifting extremely heavy weights in their socks! This is a major safety concerns for those around as if they slip they could injure others. You get what you pay for.

Swimming pool OK, swimming classes are good, not as child friendly as Hillcrest, but great for adults wanting to swim lanes. Centre can get busy, just remember to bring your own padlock for the changing room, its not a coin locker like other facilities.

there is a swimming pool that isn't that big, and it does not have hot tub. But on the other hand there is a slide that is about 1.5 meter tall in the deep end and mini slides too. It is a nice place to relax, but Hill Crest is much more newer and has way more things. There is also 2 gyms, a room for kids. and a small park behind it (a nice place to read a book or just to relax) and game room.
