Everyone here is so very helpful. Stephen Ulmer helped our family in such a caring way. He treated us like family and we would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Misty did a wonderful job with my grandmother s funeral. She put so many small, but meaningful touches into the service. Would highly recommend!

They truly try their best to make sure you and your family are comfortable and well-taken care of.

Everyone at Southern Heritage was beyond thoughtful and gracious and kind. It made it easier to handle a difficult time. The only thing I didn t understand is why it took so long for them to ask for a copy of my drivers license for the death certificates when they had already gotten one. I may be incorrect but it seems like it s taking a long time to get them.

Southern Heritage gave us excellent service from start to finish. They were very helpful with planning and explaining all of the details. They were timely and everything went smoothly. This was our second time to work with Southern Heritage and with both experiences we felt that the employees there were very professional and met all of our needs. It was a pleasure to work with the staff there as they were very caring.

Planning a funeral and dealing with the events required to lay a loved one to rest are seldom easy. After the unexpected loss of a close friend recently, I had the pleasure of being assigned Misty as our funeral director. She and the staff at Southern Heritage went way above and beyond in handling several unusual requests and assisting the many involved participants with seeming ease and compassion. There are several options available in the Birmingham Metro area when selecting a funeral home, but I feel like you would be hard pressed to find one that runs so smoothly and is as accommodating as Southern Heritage. My only regret is Google only has five stars to give, as this place probably deserves more for how they performed recently.

Everything was handled wonderfully. Bob Murdaugh was extremely helpful with every detail of the planning and coordinating of the burial, and assisted us in every way we needed.

The team at Southern Heritage was simply outstanding in handling even the smallest of details for my father-in-law s funeral. Alisa and Bob were spectacular in all aspects of planning, execution, and comfort provided to our family during one of the most difficult periods in our lives.

We were warmly greeted upon arrival to make the arrangements of my dads funeral. Our experience was very hard, but the staff at Southern Heritage seemed to make it a little more pleasant..... Overall it was as good as it could have been under the circumstances.

She went above the call of duty and surprised us with little baseball beads on the tassel part to commemorate my dad's extreme devotion to sports, particularly his beloved Yankees. They are treasured among the family even amongst the young grandkids. If you're looking for a place that will go above and beyond to ensure you have the small details done right this is the place to call.

The staff is amazing. We had no clue what we were about to face when our mom died. We called the funeral home around 1am when mom passed. We were transfered through to Doug. He spent the next 30min with us on the phone answering all of our questions and putting our mind at ease. The next day we met with Bob and he was wonderful. Our plan was to have mom cremated. Bob showed us that just since we were doing Cremation that didn t mean we couldn t do a service. With the help from Bob, Alisa and Carla we had a wonderful memorial service for our mother with her quilts, pictures and favorite thing decorating the chapel. We will never forget you all. Thank you SO much for helping us Celebrate our mothers life.

When my father died a few weeks ago I was at a loss of where to turn. Southern Heritage was recommended to me by a dear friend. I am glad I entrusted Southern Heritage and all of the wonderful staff with the care of my wonderful father. Stephen was so helpful in planning all the details and getting the obituary placed in all of the newspapers. The visitation and catered reception the night before the funeral was so lovely. The staff that was with us that night was so kind and caring. Then at the church the next morning everything was in place and the directors were there waiting on us and helped us through the remainder of the day. My family is pleased with the way everything was handled by Southern Heritage.

A wonderful place to consider when making final arrangements for a love one. The burial grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained.

We had pre-arranged with Alisa Sims many years back and it made everything much easier. The arrangements, service, flowers and food were absolutely perfect and I couldn't have been more pleased. Southern Heritage has a great staff and will make sure every detail is taken care of.

Assistance is what is needed at a time like this and we received it from these caring folks.

This place no longer maintains grave sites.
We purchased 50-60 squares of Emerald Zoysia grass for our parents grave sites.
Southern Heritage refused to water or maintain the grass on the sites.
Therefore I strongly urge you to NOT use their facility.

Bob was kind, caring, and helpful. He made an unpleasant situation as pleasant as it could be. He also designed the layout and props for the visitation in a way that looked great and matched the personality of our loved one. He really went the extra mile and made a difficult day easier.

What an amazing group of people. The compassion and attentiveness was beyond my expectations. I have been to many funeral homes and I must say the level of service I encountered says a lot about your location. Great people, did a great job. Deauna Wright was a wonderful person to work with. She handled everything perfectly. I did not have to worry about anything during this trying time. My wife's death happened suddenly and before I could call them Deauna called me since we had prearranged my wife's service. I was blessed to have Southern Heritage.

My son was buried on May the 12th 2017. He was only 8 years old. As sad as this is Southern Heritage was the most gracious Funeral Home. They provided not only their services but extreme sympathy and kindness. I feel a bond has been created with them which helps me feel closer to my son. I cannot express enough how wonderful they are! My husband passed away and he had made no arrangements at all. He did not like to attend funerals or even talk about death. Southern Heritage, Pelham, Alabama was AMAZING! The director, sales staff, and all other associates were kind, empathetic, compassionate and helped us navigate the process. I highly recommend using Southern Heritage. In conclusion, I went back and made my funeral arrangements so the process would be easier for our two children when I pass. Thank you to everyone that helped with the service.

Today we went to visit our son"s grave site for Easter. We cant say enough on how we appreciate your work crew of how much they must have worked in the Cementery to get it especially ready for Easter. It was beautiful and such a blessing to all of us. When my husband passed away in December, 2016, I went to Southern Heritage to choose a burial site and plan his graveside service. Alisa Sims met with me and instantly put me at ease. She is warm and caring, taking as much time as I needed to talk about plans and to discuss and look at plots. I never felt hurried or rushed. Alisa listened to what I wanted and made sure everything ran smoothly. A couple of months later, I returned to design his headstone. I took my small dog with me and he was readily accepted. Once again, Alisa and the staff took the time I needed. It was a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. I know they were busy, but Alisa and staff treated me like I was the only one there. We designed a beautiful monument. My husband s plot is beautiful and well kept. Alisa frequently checks on it when she is on the grounds. She always makes sure I am happy and satisfied with its appearance. Whenever I go to his grave, I always stop in the office. Alisa and the staff at Southern Heritage have become an extended family for my pup and me. They greet him with a dish of water and an occasional dog treat. They always ask about him if I visit without him. I truly could not have asked for a better experience than what I have had with Alisa Sims and the staff at Southern Heritage.

Our family member recently passed away. All the arrangements were handled with great compassion at Southern Heritage. Jaynee, our funeral director, arranged a memorial service at the chapel and also coordinated a military burial service in Montgomery. She reviewed, typed, and submitted the obituary that we provided. We appreciate the kind attention that she provided during our time of loss.

Mr. Murdaugh and his staff were very patient and sensitive to the loss of the parents of my dear friend who passed. They patiently and kindly led them through decisions that were difficult to make.

The staff at Southern Heritage took care of everything for my mother s funeral. They anticipated all the needs & were on top of things beyond our expectations. The staff was caring & compassionate and so easy to work with.

I was at my parents grave site this week end to put Christmas flowers on their graves . I really became upset when I noticed that some type of vehicle had been driving over their graves and everyone's from one side of the cemetery to the other, like it was a road. I' m very upset with this and will be in touch with these people that operate this facility. They have no respect at all for my love ones or the other peoples love ones that chose the cemetery thinking it was ran very well ( at the time ) We have to go over there every spring and put top soil, fertilizer and basically that care of the grave site ourselves. It has been going down for several years now.
