Kennywood is a very nice park. The park is well-maintained and the rides are great! Lots of history, too. HOWEVER, I must say the workers have absolutely AWFUL customer service! Not one person smiles and they are very rude to people in the park! I realize that they have to keep control but that's no excuse for being so rude! Also, it does get quite crowded at times and there has been some crime problems at night. Just a warning!! However, I defiantly recommend going to Kennywood. They just need better service!

I love this park it was my childhood playground growing but now hearing all of these ride malfunctions that are going on upsets me sooo much, please Kennywood get it together and take care of your rides before somebody seriously gets hurt!!

A pittsburgh classic. Whether you love here or are passing through it's a wonderful place to create memories with your family. There is something here for everyone from kids, all the way to the coaster enthusiasts. Potato patch fries are a must have, and you must ride the thunderbolt.

Just okay. We were lucky to go on a day when the park was empty, but half of the rides were closed. Yes the food is pricey, but it's an amusement park so you should come expecting to spend $4.70 on one medium soda. The rides are all mediocre at best. This isn't a "theme park" and the different areas have no discernible theme or atmosphere, but it is clean and family friendly.

Pros:
-clean, well-kept bathrooms
-lots of food choices
-wooden coasters
-great parking (free spots or premium spots)
-no litter or full trash cans
-bins to place items/drinks when getting on rides

Cons:
-run by high school kids who look like they absolutely hate their life
-poorly serviced rides (the ones that were open had seats with "out of order" signs on closed seats and electrical tape padding the grips)
-5 of the main rides were closed.
-old Halloween decorations still up in June.

Worth a visit if you're nearby, but not worth a long drive.

Funplace to go but food is rediculously priced and lines are forever. We were unlucky enough to go on field trip day so definitely didn't help the line situation at all. Wasn't thrilled by the scarcity of water rides. Newest ride wasn't done yet either. I expect that'll be by the end of the season maybe even next. Gift shop was reasonable prices.

I just can't justify giving it more than 2 stars. It's being fueled strictly by nostalgia now. When the newest coaster has been down for 2+ years, you loose hope in the place. Hopefully the 'Steel Curtain' brings some life back into the park. It's just such a shame knowing that this was my favorite place as a kid and it's not even attempting to meet expectations now.

Great Park. Roller coaster collection great. Food is fantastic and reasonable for a theme park. Only complaint is some of the rides need more shade. Even small shade structures would be a huge help.

Fun

DONT EAT THE CHEESE AT THE POTATO PATCH FRIES!!!! THE NEWS LIED ! After saying on the news that they were going to change back to the original cheese after multiple complaints about the new cheese ... that was all a LIE ! Called and talked to the manager of the park about it and they have no intention on switching back to the old cheese ! Because it has been taken over by a Spanish family. But if you ask the employees they lie straight to you face and say it s the good cheese .... not to mention there is 5 employees behind the counter doing nothing and I had to ask them if I was going to get my fries or not ! I was the only person in line And the Bacon wasn t even cooked !!!! That s a health hazard! And to to pay over $8 this is ridiculous and to lie to your customers ON THE NEWS!!! If I could rate this zero stars I would !

Ive been here almost once a year for every year of my life.... they have the best rides ive ever seen ......not to mention the food....the best fried oreos ever plus potato patch fries... YUM .Let me name some of my favorite rides Aero 360,The Phantoms Revenge , The Whip, The Black Widow , Skyrocket , The Volcano, And Racers....plus old ones like the Pit Fall and The Turnpike.... BTW they are planning to bring back the turnpike.... Although there is some stuff that I don't like.... but they don't mind me that much. So if you are planning to go to Pittsburgh Kennywood is a must .. Its a family park (even for really young ones) and its a park for thrill seekers. So definatley go to kennywood when you can

Classic amusement park, not so large that it cannot be done in a day. The rides are a mix of modern thrill rides and coasters, as well as some throwbacks to a bygone era.
The park was clean and the staff friendly, a variety of choices for eating but pricey.

This place deserves to be world famous. It has been running for over 100 years and it is still so fun. In fact, here is a rating for all the roller coasters at kennywood in my opinion.

Phantoms Revenge- 9.6/10 Oh my god, this is cool. I was upset when they took out the Steel Phantom, but this was a fantastic replacement. The hill is long, so there is more suspense until the huge drop. You also go under AND over the Thunderbolt. My only bad experience on the Phantom is sitting with my friend on it behind two random girls with super long hair. Their hair smelled terrible, and we were already strapped in, so we couldn't get off. Every time we went down a hill, the hair whipped in our faces, and it hurt a LOT. Still, this is a fun ride.

Thunderbolt- 9.6/10 A true classic. Unlike most roller coasters, this one starts with a drop, not a hill. I just love this good-old fashioned coaster.

Jackrabbit- 9.5/10 I will not forget my first ride. It was so memorable, and in a good way. And I will never get tired of the amazingly amazing double dip.

Racer- 9.3/10 Who will win? This unique ride clearly shows the spirit of competition. Two cars race through the track and strive for victory and the finish line. The originality is awesome. So why is it rated lower than usual? I am not a fan of losing. It is still a fun ride.

So, that is kennywood for you. In a slightly large nutshell.

Kennywood is a classic park that kept the nostalgic past and combined it the some of the newest fan fare of today. Parts of the park will make you feel like you are 100 years in the past. They have classic rides that includes the Racer, Thunderbolt and Jack rabbit which are all wooden coasters. They also have carival rides such as the Bump, the Whip and Bayern Curve that are classic. Kennywood also has one of the best shooting galleries! The Night Rider pass is only $27 during the week after 5pm and parking was free. Kennywood is worth the trip!

There's only like 5 rollercoasters here; the rest are just normal like carnival rides. Wait times aren't that bad though (except for the Steel Curtain, but I went on the day it first opened so ofc the lines are ridiculously long)

If I could give this place no stars I would. I arrived to the park around 3pm, it started raining around 5:30pm, so they shut the rides down until further notice. Which is totally understandable but the rain quit around 7. They opened a few rides but the majority of them remained closed for the rest of the night for no reason at all. So 8pm they started opening up more rides and let people stand in line and watch them test rides for 45 plus minutes, only to be told to leave because they weren't opening the ride. We stood in 3 different lines for hours in hopes of riding that ride, and was told to exit the line due to weather. My entire 8 hours there was spent waiting in line for a ride I never got to ride. So, like numerous other people, I went to guest relations with hopes of receiving a raincheck or a refund only to be told they only do refunds if a majority of the rides were closed for a majority of the day (which they were) and they said they could do nothing for me. I spent $200 on tickets to ride 3 rides and stand in numerous lines to rides I never got to ride in an 8 hour time span not to mention the crappy attitude from their employees. I will never return to this park due to customer neglect and unfair treatment to guests! Which is a shame this park used to be a family favorite! Very poor service and unfair treatment of their guests, I'm very disappointed in the way this place Is operated!
