We're lucky this important Pittsburgh tradition continues. I understand the owners have restored the Old Mill in 2020 to its early 20th century glory after its decades-long hiatus. Gotta like that. If you've never been, this is your chance to share an experience with generations of Pittsburghers. Be sure to take a peek at the historic Edgar Thompson Works steel mill across the river. If you're lucky, you'll get to see red hot slag dumped at night. :)

Half of the rides and shops were closed. Park is dirty. Had to wait an extra 20 minutes in line TWICE for them to put a second train on the Thunderbolt, then the Phantom. Why don't you do that before the park opens? I rode 5 rides in about 7 hours. Not worth it.

Kennywood continues to provide visitors with a Summer day of fun as it has for over a hundred years.

Why, then, am I not giving it 5 stars? While the park continues to offer a blend of classic rides and games alongside some more modern thrills, there is undeniably something that has been lost somewhere in the course of the last 30 years that I've been going.

In my youth, Kennywood featured no fewer than 4 attractions that would qualify as "haunted houses" -- the Gold Rusher, the Old Mill, La Cachot, and the classic Noah's Ark.

All of these rides have been removed and/or replaced, leaving the park bereft of the signature macabre that I once associated with it.

Don't get me wrong: the park remains one of the best of its kind. But the lack of "spooky" attractions leaves me with the unshakable feeling that something is missing, as I imagine it would for many long time patrons.

While Noah's Ark is still operating, most of it has been reworked to be far less scary and more kid-friendly than it once was (though as a kid, I always loved it).

A lot of rides are not opened. Most eateries are closed. It's crowded and with so many rides closed it makes for long lines. Had a burger at Johnny Rockets and it's cold. Very dissappointing! Always loved Kennywood but the new owners are ruining it

Keeps getting more expensive every year. Decent amusement park, lines are long. Down side, they now have designated smoking benches. You're outside. Anywhere should be ok to smoke as long as your out of the way.

We visited this amusement park primarily to see Thomas town because my 3 year old son is crazy for Thomas the train! Thomas town did not disappoint! The rides in that area are geared towards younger kids. There are a few that older kids and parents can ride as well. The main Thomas train ride is so fun and they play music from the Thomas movies throughout so kids can sing along!

The pleasant surprise was the rest of the park was a hit as well! I have 6 kids (eldest is 12) so we split up with one adult with the older 3 and another with the younger 3. The older group spent the entire day on the big rides while the younger group enjoyed Kiddieland. In Kiddieland there is a surprisingly good organic food stand. My kids got pizza, sunbutter and jelly sandwiches and veggie tots. We got avacado turkey sandwich and a pesto chicken sandwich with organic greens. It was delicious and I couldn t believe they had this as an option at an amusement park!

For nursing moms...I spotted nursing stations. The best place to rest and nurse is the AIR CONDITIONED gift shop and play area in Thomas town!

Lots of amazing rides & very helpful staff that were kind enough to let me rest my aching body towards the end of the night. When my family decided they would pretend they didn't know me, and kept on riding for as long as possible!

Great fun!

Great fun!
(& it was interesting to learn that they have a' hydration policy' where the food venders won't deny you water-meaning you don't have to pay outrageous prices for water when you really need it!)

I like taking my kids here but lately alot of rides have been down and this is the first year I bought season passes so it's been a little disappointing but we are looking forward to the Steel Curtain opening this Sat July 13th.

This is a great destination for adults, children, and families. This was our second time being there and today we took our 3yr old to the Halloween festivities they are having for the children. The Kiddie Land is awesome for young children and they've also built a new edition called Thomas Town and it's really well done. My son had a blast all day and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of going.

This is a great mediun sized family amusement park. It's a little dated and lacking the super big rides of a larger theme park but still very fun and perfect for small children. 4 out of 5 for being a bit pricey for what's actually offered.

It is a pretty cool Theme Park. I've gone there nearly every year. As with most theme parks, the food is a bit overpriced for its quality. All of the different rides are very fun to ride. It gives the feeling of a clean professional establishment while still remaining to feel local. I would recommend visiting.

Rides were fun but staff was HORRIBLE! One of the girls at the gift shop qt the beginning of the park yelled at me girlfriend because she took her face mask off for just a second to get some air before she purchased anything. Staff at the food stands were incompetent and nearly messed up our orders multiple times. Wait times for most of the rides were 30+ minutes. Food and drinks were ridiculously over priced! Honestly we wish we had went somewhere else. And may very well be asking for a refund! Would not recommend!!!

This was the first time there in about 20 years. Some of the buildings dont look like they were painted since then. I was not impressed. We went right as school was starting back. Even thought they didnt have enough employees to open half of the rides and games they still charged full price to get in. Seemed just run down. It was clean as far as no garbage on the ground but just was not enjoyable.

It's a nice park. The ride selection is average at best. They do not do a good job of moving the riders through lines quickly. They seem so hesitant on running more than one car at a time on certain rides. We wait in a line for an hour when in reality it should be 20 minutes if they just ran another car or 2. They just don't seem to do things right. Certainly no mistaking Kennywood for Disney.

This is the most charming amusement park. Great mix of classic rides, thrill rides, and wooden and steel coasters. Kiddieland for the littlest ones. Potato Patch fries and Golden Nugget ice cream are a must. Even after the summer season ends, the fun keeps coming with Phantom Fright Nights around Halloween and Holiday Lights at Christmas. Kennywood is a national historic landmark, a Pittsburgh tradition and a can't-miss attraction.

Only 3 or 4 rides were open and no food vendors where opened except the cafe which was not very good for spending 83 dollars on 5 people would not recommend it to anyone I took my family excepting a great experience and was highly disappointed. Would. Recommend looking into other amusement parks and not wasting your money here

Kennywood Lights is nothing short of magical, with plenty of attractions to visit to get and keep visitors in the holiday spirit. Some rides are open as well, and there are plenty of food and drink options - hot chocolate included. Makes for a great family outing over the holiday school break.

Nothing to brag about...its mostly carnival rides...makes sure u call before coming because most the rides are closed. How can you have Thomas town and not have Thomas open?! Need to post that on your website before people drive hours to get here!!! Oh and how is it that none of the employees, even at guest relations doesn't know how much VIP tickets are for fright night are?! Obviously I'm just as confused as all the employees are! Who trains these people?! And stay away from Johnny rockets!! It's so over priced, paid $42 for 3 hamburgers and 2 drinks then they forgot our drinks...i could go on and on about the horrible experience...just take my warning and find another activity to do instead of coming here!!!

Steel Curtain was the best coaster I've been on in a long time... the smoothness of the rails, and the way the curves flowed without any harsh turns, and the thrill of not really knowing what was coming next... amazing!

I have a photo of the young guy taking care of the paddle boats. Bug I can t see his name.
It was our first time on the boats and were 70.
He would not help us when we docked our boat and we sat there for 15 minutes whole he moved empty boats around. We even called his name. We had to get out of the boat ourselves while my husband held onto the pole. He yelled at us for parking in the wrong spot. His were we suppose to know.
U need employees who care about ur patrons. Shame on you

My husband and I had a GREAT time today. Neither one of us were brave enough to try the Steel Curtain, but it sure looks like fun. The Pittsburgh Plunge was fantastic. Water rides are prefect for a hot day like today.
