Just amazing. The price is a bit steep but the experience is unique.
They should add the. Tour of the. Bus to general access
Was really worth the entrance. Anyone who is near anyway should definitely go there.
Educational and inspiring place with a wide range of exhibits!
They charge a obscene amount to visit what I believe many tax dollars have payed for.
This place is simply AMAZING and they make it accessible and interesting
The entire experience was top shelf! The staff were professional and polite and the exhibits were magnificent. It was more than worth the price of admission.
Always a pleasure to come here. Sam, in reservations, is the best!
Fun for all ages and very well done! Great place to watch a launch and explore history and the future.
Awesome! The grounds were clean and the people were extremely helpful. The whole experience was wonderful. I would urge anyone to go.
My oldest and I went on a school trip. I haven't been since I was his age! It was great! The presentation of Atlantis was awesome, brought back A LOT of memories. This is a MUST SEE and EXPERIENCE. No crazy rollercoasters, but a ton of cool stuff about space exploration. There are some rides, all ages can ride.
Haven't been here for several years and wasn't sure what to expect with the Covid precautions.....ended up spending an amazing 5 hrs here. The Atlantis exhibit is wonderful!
The drive in launch and movie was awesome! We got lucky because we saw a rocket landing but I would spend the money on this event even if it was just a launch! Great job!!
It is a very beautiful place. Very interesting and full of stories related to space flights.
It is recommended to visit with family and especially for young people. It is inspiring.
The Kennedy space center allows visitors to experience all the aspects of the current space program. A full visitor center devoted to the apollo program alone gives it all reverence it deserves. The main visitor center shows a great overview of all the past US accomplishments. The bus tour is a must to make sure to see it all.
I love this place it's filled with history and it will teach you many things you didn't know before. It was a beautiful experience I recommend you listen to the free tour they do by the rocket garden, they will tell you information you won't find written there. Overall it was an amazing experience I was fascinated with all the things I learned in just a day, this is a must do in Florida.
So much incredible stuff here. If your a space nerd, this is an ideal spot
I don't know how anybody could NOT like it here! The history, the achievements, its all so amazing.
This place is amazing. A simply immersive experience. Great for kids and adults!
I would recommend. A cosmic experience surrounded by alligators
Really cool place to visit. They take you everywhere on the extra tour for $25 per person
Staff were all masked, most exhibits were open, and the cafe was too.
Elementary School Field Trip :) Only 2 negatives: 1 - Space dough activity making planets took too long (separating the dough 30+ times). 2 - rude employee at the interactive ride. Everyone and everything else were amazing!! Thank you NASA
The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC, originally known as the NASA Launch Operations Center), located on Merritt Island, Florida, is one of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) ten field centers. Since December 1968, KSC has been NASA's primary launch center of human spaceflight. Launch operations for the Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle programs were carried out from Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39 and managed by KSC. Located on the east coast of Florida, KSC is adjacent to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS). The management of the two entities work very closely together, share resources and operate facilities on each other's property.
Though the first Apollo flights and all Project Mercury and Project Gemini flights took off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the launches were managed by KSC and its previous organization, the Launch Operations Directorate. Starting with the fourth Gemini mission, the NASA launch control center in Florida (Mercury Control Center, later the Launch Control Center) began handing off control of the vehicle to the Mission Control Center in Houston, shortly after liftoff; in prior missions it held control throughout the entire mission.
Additionally, the center manages launch of robotic and commercial crew missions and researches food production and In-Situ Resource Utilization for off-Earth exploration. Since 2010, the center has worked to become a multi-user spaceport through industry partnerships, even adding a new launch pad (LC-39C) in 2015.
There are about 700 facilities and buildings grouped across the center's 144,000 acres (580 km2). Among the unique facilities at KSC are the 525-foot (160 m) tall Vehicle Assembly Building for stacking NASA's largest rockets, the Launch Control Center, which conducts space launches at KSC, the Operations and Checkout Building, which houses the astronauts dormitories and suit-up area, a Space Station factory, and a 3-mile (4.8 km) long Shuttle Landing Facility. There is also a Visitor Complex open to the public on site.
Formation
The military had been performing launch operations since 1949 at what would become Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. In December 1959, the Department of Defense transferred 5,000 personnel and the Missile Firing Laboratory to NASA to become the Launch Operations Directorate under NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
President John F. Kennedy's 1961 goal of a crewed lunar landing by 1970 required an expansion of launch operations. On July 1, 1962, the Launch Operations Directorate was separated from MSFC to become the Launch Operations Center (LOC). Also, Cape Canaveral was inadequate to host the new launch facility design required for the mammoth 363-foot (111 m) tall, 7,500,000-pound-force (33,000 kN) thrust Saturn V rocket, which would be assembled vertically in a large hangar and transported on a mobile platform to one of several launch pads. Therefore, the decision was made to build a new LOC site located adjacent to Cape Canaveral on Merritt Island.[citation needed]
NASA began land acquisition in 1962, buying title to 131 square miles (340 km2) and negotiating with the state of Florida for an additional 87 square miles (230 km2). The major buildings in KSC's Industrial Area were designed by architect Charles Luckman. Construction began in November 1962, and Kennedy visited the site twice in 1962, and again just a week before his assassination on November 22, 1963.
On November 29, 1963, the facility was given its current name by President Lyndon B. Johnson under Executive Order 11129. Johnson's order joined both the civilian LOC and the military Cape Canaveral station ("the facilities of Station No. 1 of the Atlantic Missile Range") under the designation "John F. Kennedy Space Center", spawning some confusion joining the two in the public mind.
Great Historical Place of United States
Can't compare it to any other place. Visit it first over Disneyland!!
Great place very Historical place. Why 4 out of 5 stars. When I was there heavy rain they had suspended the bus tour
Such a fun place. Even though a lot of the attractions were closed it was still a great learning experience. They gave us free tickets to come back next year. Very reasonably priced.
Just amazing!!!! If you have the chance, go to Kennedy Space Center for 2 days. There is so much to do and learn. A great celebration of everything space. From the beginning of the space program till today and beyond it is a great place that makes me proud to be American. Wonderful history of space program. I highly recommend the bus tour that is included with your admission, it is great, it takes you by the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) as well as launch pads and to the Saturn V rocket building. We will be back again. By the way, the price you pay for admission is used to support Kennedy Space Center, no tax dollars are used to fund it.
Very good experience for children. Loved meeting an astronaut. Good day
Very impressive and a lot bigger than we expected! You can easily spend two full days here! We only had an afternoon to spend, and it was certainly worth it! The kids loved it!
It is nice. We can feel.a little be how is the live out side the world
Low volume of people and lots to see.
Could be 5 stars if everything was open. Some things are closed due to covid.
My family had a wonderful time for the entire day yesterday. It was very educational, interesting and informative. It was a great day.
Great place to view relics of the space program and see interesting imax movies.
It was ok , lots of standing in line most of the time to see short videos you could watch on you tube. Expensive for what it is imo, kids were ready to leave in a couple hours after spending 200 just to get in.
Enjoyed it a lot. If your a fan of NASA you will enjoy this "park". After a while all the movie show cases were the same, but the gift shop and the bus tour more then made up for it. If you see it once you seen it. I would recommend at least a visit once in your life time. P.S I packed lunch from Publix and ate that there which in my opinion worked out better. Drinks were a reasonable price.
Opens up your imagination 2 real possibilities. Good for all ages.
Great place to tak your family! I personally recommend doing the launch pad tour.
There's only one KSC! But seeing the space shuttle is worth it alone
Awesome place to learn. It's not as interactive as they showed on their website but it's still a great place to go. I would recommend the launch simulation because it's the best thing there. Would recommend and go again.
Literally one of my favorite places on the planet! Endless options of ways to learn and explore and be a part of space exploration! We are now members for the year and I couldn't be more thrilled! Best birthday gift ever!!!! It's also right in the middle of a wildlife refuge .. lots of animals to see!
Incredible for all ages! We went on our way down the coast from Orlando, got tickets at the gate. They gave us two free entry tickets for 2021 due to the closing of the bus tours for the remainder of the year.
Up to date information of the current space program and amazing exhibits for the whole family!! Can t wait to go back!
This area of the Florida Attraction circuit is packed with choices, Disney World , Sea World, Universal, etc. And they are all great. But if you are looking for a wonderful, fact filled experience like no other, the Space Center should be on your list too. It is a hands on, interactive look at the US Space program, past, present and future. There were 7 of us in our group from age 9 to 71 and all of us had a great time. The presentations and exhibits were very informative without being boring for the kids. There was a lot of things to see and do. The park had some great visuals in terms of actual films of launches and landings. Nothing was too long or boring. Everything was designed perfectly to move people through and to not have the kids get antsy. Everyone's hands down favorite was the Atlantis building all about the space shuttle program. We took the total tour which is the bus ride out to the launch pad areas as well as the entire park and buildings. The only thing we did not do was the lunch with the astronaut. Our tours were about about $60 each for adults. We felt that it was a wonderful way to spend the day and extremely enjoyable for all of us. Don't miss it!
By far one of the best experiences here in Florida. I felt like a vip seeing the shuttle lift off. It was definitely a must see for the entire family.
Very educational and full of excitement!!! We loved everything.
A place to visit if there is anyone in Florida, sightseeing 4-6 hours, everything is in place, parking, food.
Worst ever experience. Most attractions are either closed, or are closed. Gross food, lines for everything. No idea what to do here. Better go to Houston space center: 10x times better.
We were lucky it was not overly crowded. If you are in the vicinity is recommended, a tour to plan because you would not have. Maybe inquire in advance if a start is planned (next 04.12.2019) that is certainly very interesting and could also be observed from a nearby beach.
The most incredible experience ever. To se spaceshutle Atlantis just made a great day perfect.
Was a fantastic experience. You need to go their in the morning in order to try and see everything and do everything. Learned a lot.
Awesome place ! The weather was pretty chilly, had a great experience.
Got here at 12 and I still was able to do so much in 4 hours. Discovery exhibit and movie was so good.
It would probably be a cool place when it isn't raining. Unfortunately it was and everyone flocked to the indoor exhibits. The lines were insanely long and it didn't seem like anyone was really working to manage the large crowds making it a bit of a free for all. It's too bad, we were looking forward to seeing more.
It s hard to overstate the magic of being at this place. Seeing the VAB rise up over the Florida marshlands on our drive in took my breath away with its sheer scale. I ve only recently become a hardcore space junkie and this was my first trip to KSC, and I don t think I stopped smiling the whole time.
Even the basic bus tour which comes with the basic admission (~$60 per adult) was enough to make my heart race with excitement. Being so close to the place where the Apollo launch vehicles were assembled and transported to the launch pads gave me goosebumps. We were fortunate enough to visit on the day of the Orion launch escape system test, so we got a great view of the crawler making its way back down the crawlerway, both on our way out past launch pads 39A and B to the Apollo/Saturn V center and on our way back! That thing is a BEAST.
The Apollo/Saturn V center experience was fantastic. The intro movie and the Apollo 8 launch sequence recreation were a fantastic first and second course before taking in the massive visual feast that is a fully restored Saturn V rocket. I could have spent hours there just studying the plumbing of the F1 and J2 engines up close and personal. It truly is a marvel of modern engineering and a thing of mechanical majesty.
The American manned space program is one of the greatest achievements of human ingenuity and engineering, and to have the privilege of being here in the shadow of space history and get a taste of what s in store in the next decades as we return to the Moon and take our first steps on Mars is truly a life-changing experience.
Excelent place to visit. Great learning experience.
Best place to go see. A whole day is just not enough time to see it all. Do the bus tours. Amazing
Great experience on the history of the space program.
Only open for 6 hours, same price as always. They kick you out at 4:00 and it opened at 10:00! And I paid$60 for a ticket! They should be ashamed!!!???
Very varied, informative, it venerates the American glory a bit too much but it is a constant here.
Great for science lovers! A lot of talking, reading and information about the universe, rockets and science so if you are into this, you ll love this place. I would definitely recommend you to get here early and try to do all the activities they have. They have a lot of 20mins and 40mins activities so plan your schedule wisely! Food was expensive but I guess this is common for this type of places. Keep hydrated and be aware of the bees: they are everywhere!!
If you are coming with kids, I would recommend 6+ because there is a lot of explanation about science and even though they make it easy to understand, it might be a lot to process for younger kids. They have a playground area and small attractions inside of the different museums. The store has a lot of cool and unique things, too. Definitely coming back!
Love visiting here historical and history in the making. The tribute to the crew of Apollo 1 is very fitting and also very impressive. Hats off to KSC/NASA.
Great place to visit. A lot of history to be viewed. Definitely need more than one day to see and experience everything. I've been a few times and will visit again.
Fantastic place for a day out, simulators, mass exhibits, restaurants and gift shops. Entrance ticket 50 USD + parking fee, which is huge. A lot of extra paid attractions like the Mars / Moon mission simulator.
As a space exploration enthusiast, my visit to KSC was a unique and awe inspiring experience that really put it in perspective just how incredible it is that humans have achieved space travel!
