Arriving on site you look for emergencies because it is poorly indicated.
After meeting a friendly nurse, she directed us to the emergency room. When we arrived at the emergency room, the person at the reception referred us to another service, which itself after a quick examination, referred us to the emergency service.
The receptionist, aggressive in his communication, refused to take into account a provisional replacement certificate for the European care card.
After being taken care of, when I received my medical prescription, I was asked to pay for all of the care, which I naturally refused.
3 people in total refused to allow me to benefit from my rights. I had to hold the position and be threatened by the police to finally pay part of the bill.
Too bad the administrative staff taint the kindness and professionalism of the nursing staff (doctor, radiologist).

First of all, I am grateful for all the help and the work that is being done is demanding and arduous. , an ambulance doctor examined her briefly and said her lungs were in question and sent us home with sumamed. After a day and a half of antibiotics, I noticed that she was no better, even though the baby was crying non-stop and still had a fever. I go out on Monday take out blood, pump 145, send me home with a new antibiotic, take off the fever myself with splinters and showers, chicken antibiotic. After 7 days better, I ask if she can go to sea if she can. Urine was not examined at any time, my lungs were suspected, so I went to take pictures in private, they said they were not lungs, then something else is a doctor's statement after 3 visits to Firulam in 3 days. Come to Germany, the pediatrician is appalled at the doctor's findings and method, that I treated the child at home in this condition and confirmed my suspicion that it was a severe kidney inflammation. Here, children are immediately given an infusion of antibiotics for all this. intravenously, the condition is monitored for ultrasound. My child has as a result an enlargement on my right kidney that will withdraw if God gives what I passed to the worst enemy I do not want.

I won't comment on the expertise of the medical staff here, but what I will say is that the hospital needs a makeover which would include installing new equipment, medical and otherwise, expanding the facilities and simplifying the process of receiving non-urgent medical care.

Very very bad hospital. Poor (almost no) communication with family members. Old equipment. Dirty and badly maintained building.

My father has had a heart attack. They placed a stent that is too small. The next day he was doped again. This without informing the patient and family members.

Sisters very unfriendly. It almost looks like a prison.

Very very bad hospital. Bad communication (almost none) towards family members. Old equipment. Very dirty and poorly maintained building.

My dad had a heart attack. After putting in a too small stent. He had to have surgery again .. this without informing the patient and familymembers.

Hospital to flee!

Hospital to flee!

My mother had a stroke, the hospital staff didn't tell us anything, they dumped us from one department to another with no follow-up. The nurses were looking at us and laughing among themselves in Croatian. They were on their cell phones, I never saw that.
They spent their time asking us to pay despite the support without telling us anything about my mother's condition
The security (a lady screaming like a crazy hysterical woman) came to try to kick us out and they called the police only because we were asking for the prescription for our drugs and we refused to pay an exorbitant bill I repeat that ' we had the care
They finally ended up giving us a prescription and surprise when we got to the pharmacy it is a derivative of Doliprane even the pharmacist did not understand that we are only giving him this for a stroke
In addition, they do not give water, it is up to us to buy him bottles of water and to eat, they keep him 5 days by giving him only water and salt !!!!
And block the repatriation !!!! Shameful !!!!
If I could have put 0 I would have done it !!!

Went to the emergency department of KBC Split on 24 September 2019. Very fast and professional help. Good English speaking staff and especially very friendly. It is a very old building, but that says nothing about the quality of care. As well as the major parking problem around the hospital. We were with a motorhome and got stuck the night before it. Because in the morning there is no more room.

CHILDREN: Small worries with baby (20 months) - big fever;
Quick pick-up, go directly 200m after adult emergencies, on the right (pediatric service).
Ring the bell at the entrance, someone will open the door for you. In view of the comments, DO NOT FORGET the European map! Parts of the hospital are run down / abandoned but we were received in a small room with a doctor. There are not the same means as with us (we provided the thermometer, to look in the throat she used a camping light on which you have to tap on the back to make it work (gag)).
The main thing is that the diagnosis is correct. We went back to get the prescription at the entrance (blue star) and then we went to get the drugs from the pharmacy 100m from the hospital. No charge to advance with the European card very satisfied.
Maj: the diagnosis was wrong, it was a roseola.

ADULTS Foreigners: a priori you can be received directly at the entrance of ambulances / reception of prescriptions to avoid the crowds at the entrance.

If you are a tourist, avoid this hospital as best you can. Long story short, I went to the A&E, the state of the building is horrendous, the level of care the same. I still have bruising from over two weeks ago from them taking a blood sample. Just don t do it, if you can avoid it. Go to a specialist, private hospital, call a GP, don t go there.

The sisters talk for half an hour on their cell phones, talk with their mouths full, they are arrogant ...
who allows them to have private cell phones at work? They are there for the patients and not the patients for them.
Doctors, on the other hand, postpone vital operations and look for unnecessary findings (like PET CT is not enough) ... sad
Let everyone go out to work so they will see how it is done and that one should earn a salary and not just come to work.

Quite a drive from one part of the city to another and unkindness at the counter. Of course it is the city center, so they must be crowded, but for Christ's sake, if one waits 2 hours to talk for one order then a little more kindness would not hurt.

Worst hospital I've ever been to. I arrived there with a double open foot break and waited 4 hours. I was also not given any pain medication. The bones were then pushed back into the foot with a small local anesthetic. Never again this hospital. I don't want to start with the friendliness of the employees. As a foreigner, you would rather look for another hospital or go straight home.

A hospital like any other. Doctors and nurses, we hurried patients are left to someone's will. The waiting list for an examination is endless, and when you get your turn, you have the feeling that the doctor is not interested in your problems. Honor exceptions. Every day I thank him for being at least somewhat healthy, so I have to go to the hospital so often.

I am shocked that someone like that is allowed to "treat" people.

I had to be admitted to this hospital as an emerge...

I had to be admitted to this hospital as an emergency whilst on holiday in Croatia. My heart went out of rhythm and I required an emergency procedure called cardioversion. This was all accomplished in 22hrs including an emergency boat transfer from the Island of Brac which is where we were staying and normally an hours ferry ride from split.
The staff were very kind and professional. The Croation manner is slightly brusker than the UK model and more formal but once you understand this the service you get is just as good and I could not fault the excellent service given to me.
The reason I haven't given five stars is that the hospital is very busy and crowded and the fabric is not up to the standard we would expect in the UK. To me this was not a problem as I work within the health service and am used to seeing medical matters. The reason I mention it here is that some people, I think, would have found the emergency department a bit upsetting as there is a lack of private space and you do tend to see and hear a lot of other people's medical issues.
Don't let this put you off though if you need medical treatment overall the hospital served me extremely well.

So - the first and basic problem of individual employees is the lack of business and fusion communication, and the ranking of the organization is very low. So, I get a referral and naive as I open the site of the hospital, hoping to order for an overview via e-mail communication. I am sending a mail to a central ordering center, I scan the referrals (according to the instructions on their pages) and wait (naive as I am) to write me the term of the review - when I get the answer that they do not work, but to call 556 259. I call that number, and the person sent me to the second number - 556 669. Naive as I am, I think, ok, well, now it will enroll me, maybe I will ask her to scrutinize the referral, but on the other hand, a very nervous young lady who is quarreling with me tone it out that I can not order myself for inspection, but that I need to come to Firule third floor (not specifying where to go to any department) or to fax her referrals and findings (as - all patients have home fax), because I and now we're talking nonsense ... so that diction.
I asked how much she is waiting for a review if I do all of this and write down - she also did not want to answer that.
So, around two ordinary referrals, the whole Raschomon was wiped out, in the 21st century, in another town in Croatia, in a large hospital. Where does this go?

As a severe patient, he suddenly got three inflammations, half, muscle and muscle nerves. Which ignited the joints, both burning urinary tract.
Turned on autoimmune. Impaired vision, hearing, heart, etc. grip on heart.
The hospital's young and professional team successfully repaired everything in a relatively short time.
I have already emphasized this, and I repeat to all hospital officials, since the emergency room
to the headquarters.
Attitude and care towards the patient as well as the staff
Superior attitude, professionalism and expertise.
And on this occasion, a big thank you to everyone who participated in my case.
I wish them much success in their future work and life, good luck ....

A very lovely bunch of staff, nurses and doctors who helped my daughter very quickly and with no charge as we had our EHIC cards. Treated her painful ear and sorted prescription. All done within 20-30mins on a Friday afternoon.

Parking ok, but not much onsite. No real signs I could understand in the hospital, but the first person I asked showed me straight to the correct place to go. And I speak 4 words of Croatian! All staff spoke fantastic English, thankfully!

Many, many thanks.

We were driven to KBC Split emergency after a 4 day illness. The washroom was so small your knees hit the wall. It had a bare electrical wire as well as smelt strongly of smoke. No eyes on the waiting room by medical staff unless they walk in from outside. All doors are closed with Do Not Knock Do Not Open written in English. After 10 min of many people walking by, a young man asked why we were there. We saw a doctor 10 minutes later. Good by some standards. On verbal history we were then triaged to another hospital only 5 minutes walk away to see a specialist. My clue should have been when he gave us a paper with the name of the hospital and was told to ask anyone en route if we were to get lost to point us in the right direction. My husband and I arrived 30 minutes later walking up a hill and him having to sit down 3 x due to exhaustion. Now we had to find the specialist. This time at Poliklinik Hospital. It is poorly marked and poorly lit around the buildings. Again we entered a small waiting room with all doors closed and signs Not to Knock. A little Croatian lady thankfully saw the state my husband was in and called a nurse who dutifully put a mercury thermometer under his armpit where it sat for over 30 minutes until he saw the doctor. The physician was very nice and thorough. We saw the nurse again when it was time to pay.

We have no issues with the treatment but the communication and visualization of and with patients is sub par. Signage would be very very helpful. And to make an exhausted patient walk what is on Google maps( should have looked it up first before we set out but the nurse was insistent) a good 20 minute walk is wrong.

Presented here on April 4 2018 with symptoms of DVT after a long flight from Australia. The staff were WONDERFUL. The only word of Croatian i know is PIVO, so I was very thankful for their command of English! Glad to say, all was well and the holiday was a huge success. LOVE CROATIA!

I have sprained my ankle and decided to go to this hospital for emergency. I had my ankle checked and x-ray done, but only because one doctor was actually doing his job. The rest of the staff was playing about, friendly fighting, pushing each other and sitting on tables in front of the people who come for first aid. I had to make a payment and fill in some papers, but most of the people did not even speak English there. Anyway, the hospital looks old and needs refurbishment and some upgrades obviously.

Good page:
This hospital is central and really big. They are well-kept.
Bad site:
State hospital, so the staff must beg the state for everything and you can see that in the buildings. Time stopped there in 1990. Last sentence. Be careful. Also doctors are set by families and party in the state enterprises like these. Some such dan has no idea of what he does.

Extremely unfriendly treatment of the patients. You are only spoken to in Korat, only a nurse and the doctor try to speak English. Nurses at reception and in the emergency room themselves prefer to have private conversations than assist the doctor. The doctor as a single fighter among a large number of patients. Do not lock the toilet in the waiting area, no toilet paper, you really feel abandoned and you want to go home!

Getting the ONCOLOGY department on the phone to make an appointment is close to IMPOSSIBLE. I do not get how the want people to make an appointment? I have been calling since Thursday, tried sending an email, called just today literally 57 times. The only time I managed to reach them in the last year was when the nurse accidentally wanted to make a call the same time I called them. It s a real disgrace.

I have to praise the staff of the emergency. They love, communicate, communicate with the patient, they try to do maximum. Under what conditions they work, they are perfect. First off, I am American who speaks ZERO croatian. I went to the hospital for an issue I needed help with. I was able to navigate any language barriers using a translator app on the telephone. I walked to a few different counters incorrectly but staff was happy to point me in the right direction. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, it took about 1.5 hours. Being that I am not a Croatian citizen and not part of HZZA, I did have to pay for my visit which was about 350HKR. This price is close to the price I would pay to see a doctor in the USA with insurance. Once I found the right place, I waited in the waiting room for about 10-15 minutes which is acceptable before being called into a room with a Doctor. I was able to have my problem resolved and completely satisfied with the visit. There are also private hospitals around but this seemed the most accessible and glad I chose to go here. I guess you can never control day to day what the queue of people needing healthcare would be. Maybe I just got lucky on this day that no one was waiting. But overall this was a good experience and I would come back based on the experience
