Kate and her staff did an amazing job for my daughters bridal shower

If you are in need of a caterer for an event, I HIGHLY recommend Kate's Downtown.

I'm a COVID bride and I replanned my wedding just two weeks before the big day. I reached out to Kate and she happened to have our date available. We didn't do any tastings, just went based off of all the great reviews. My husband and I were NOT disappointed.

Where do I start? Kate was very responsive, kind, and professional.
We decided on herb chicken, beef bourguignon, mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, mac n cheese, a caesar salad, and peanut butter brownies. Every single thing was AMAZING. Our family even fought over leftovers at the end.

They came to deliver our food on time and were extremely professional and didn't forget anything. I felt awful because our small group was supposed to be outside when they arrived, but it was pouring rain and we couldn't be outside. They were so understanding while we stayed out of the way.

The price point was also extremely reasonable, especially for the quality and amount of food we got.

Thank you Kate and the Kate's Downtown chefs and staff for making our intimate wedding a great dining experience!

This place has a wishing wall. Wow! Fair trade coffee, locally sourced food options and gluten free options. Great service and very comfortable atmosphere.

Excellent friendly staff who made great menu recommendations. This visit I enjoyed the Baked French Toast and the Maritime Mistic Tea Latte. The menu is beautifully written on a chalkboard wall so I presume the menu rotates (both food and drinks). The decor is very pretty and it has a very warm, cozy atmosphere to it. Parking was plentiful for us early on Sunday morning and they were also not too busy. If the Raven is a bit too noisy or crowded for you, this would absolutely be my top recommendation. Next time I pass through I will absolutely look forward to stopping by again.

If you are looking to experience Port Huron at its finest, check out this downtown cafe for gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods and beverages. Great atmosphere and the staff are super friendly! Menu changes seasonally and also offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options. Try the Quiche or the Huron Avenue sandwich! Nitro coffee is also a favorite.

Kate's Downtown is a must for Port Huron. All of the food is farm to table and as a result, Michigan products.

They have the best Gluten Free food around and almond milk latte's among other items.

Don't even think about stopping by in the morning for a coffee, apparently they don't adhere to their hours posted on the door. I've stopped by there on several occasions only to find that they are not open when they are supposed to be open. This is not good business practice, I will not be stopping by there anymore!

Love Kate's! You most definitely can get a vegan "meal" for breakfast, and/or lunch. Salad, sandwich, soup, and a variety of vegan, gluten free baked goods. The menu is limited, as it is a seasonal menu cafe, but there are plenty of satisfied, repeat customers that come daily, for what Kate's has to offer! Myself included!

The most wonderful cafe in this town. Whether you have no restrictions, vegan, keto, or gluten free, you have no other place to be! Kate is an amazing person doing amazing things in our community. 5 stars for this gal every day!

A must in downtown Port Huron. Amazing atmosphere and food. Had a fantastic latte and breakfast burrito with fresh fruits. I'll be back!

Mmmm, this place has delicious food. I got a chicken salad sandwich and deeply enjoyed it. It also has a great location on the main drag, pleasant staff, and a very comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back the next time I was in the area!

This place is fantastic, I had brunch here for the first time and it was amazing! Hands down the best Spinach quiche I have ever had! The atmosphere and decor are lovely and the staff was super friendly. I would definately recommend this cafe, and did I mention the coffee.... excellent!

Quaint mom's kitchen atmosphere makes you have to try whole menu. Worth the stop. You are in center of town and can walk to river and rent bicycles to pedal sightseeing then come back to Kate's downtown for dessert

Such a gem! I had avocado toast and OJ, my boyfriend had a kitchen sink cookie and double espresso. Phenomenal, everything was delicious and the staff is so friendly!

I just read your column in the Lansing State Journal about the positive adaptions you've made in your business during the the Pandemic. Kudos to you and your Staff for made the adjustments necessary to meet your customer's needs.

Kate s is our favorite place to go for hot chocolate because we love the extra whip cream and sprinkles even when you forget to ask for it! It is our favorite place to eat for a mother/daughter outing! Their yogurt is also really good!

Look no further for a cute coffee shop. Amazing lunch and breakfast items at a fair price. Get the quiche for breakfast, the Huron for lunch, and pick up a chocolate chip cookie and dirty chai for dessert. You will thank me later.

At first I was impressed with the place. For 35.00 per plate for wedding you think the food would atleast be hot. The coffee was the best part.

The morning wrap and fresh fruit was delicious with a tasty strawberry peach smoothie, will definitely be going back to try more on the menu.

Wrong hours posted, we were rushed out and not treated well. The quality is definitely different than we remembered. Very disappointing.

I am a vegan , and thank god for kates !! The vegan soups that r made everyday fresh is wonderful and the vegan sandwiches and salads and wraps are delicious , and with the new vegan gluten free organic bake goods that r being offered r so very good it s hard to believe they r gluten free and vegan !! I m not sure where in town some one would go to get a meal and something to drink and a desert all vegan and b very sattified and full !! Everything is make from scratch , they take great pride in being able to offer something for everybody , for a small cafe they do a heck of a job , I m able to eat there everyday ! And know just what I am eating ! Keep up the good work kates staff and again thank u for the vegan options :-) !!

Just experienced one of the very best weddings at Kate's..... Food , service was beyond fantastic and Kate was extremely professional and personable & her staff were behond superb and professional. I live in MT. Clemens and my daughter & son-in-law chose Kate's to hold their wedding. I will be back for breakfast and or lunch

Dude's Day Tuesday is the gateway meal. Once they get you in the door, you'll get hooked on their other menu items. Coffee is great, staff is friendly, and the food is fresh!

Delicious fresh food, excellent coffee, beautiful decor, but very noisy. Even with only a few employees and patrons in the room it's nearly impossible to carry on a conversation due to the room's acoustics (high ceiling and nothing to absorb sound). I'm not saying don't try Kate's because you should (it's that good) - but be prepared for a potentially ear-splitting experience!

It is an adorable little place downtown. They did a great job of hosting a private bridal shower on a Saturday afternoon. Food was delicious, Kate was friendly and welcoming, and she was on top of everything the bride or family would need. I honestly am looking forward to going back and enjoying a coffee there some time

I went in with my friend Ange and walked into one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was even better. My daughter ate the Caesar wrap and loved it. I had the chicken chili and a coffee drink the staff suggested and it was wonderful. I can't wait to go back.

First time at this establishment and was extremely excited to try the French press coffee as per a friends reccomendation.

Unfortunately my first time experience here is ruined after receiving rude and unpleasant service. As a first time goer to any establishment I love to ask questions about the specials and local favourites. The cashier who helped me seemed to be extremely rude and irritated. It was a shocking experience to say the least and I think the poor service may be motivated by racism.

All the customers in line received friendly service with how are yours and any questioned about the food or drinks quickly and nicely answered. I asked a question about what soups were available and received a roll of the eyes and muttering of its over there . As I continued to ask could you tell me a little more as it was my first time - thinking any staff who is greeted with a first time visitor would be more than happy to explain the selection - received don t you know what vegan split pea soup is? It s green. And the chicken dumpling soup is chicken . Great thank you for that exceptional service. She preceded to accidentally rip my number/ receipt in half.

It s very unfortunate some people are so miserable that 2 minutes of their day used to help someone else is too much to ask - even when it s their job.

Visited Kate s yesterday and our whole family was very happy with our food. I ordered the vegan BLT and loved every bite. My kids had the Epic PB&J and they both devoured it! The cookies were delicious as well. Inside the cafe, everything is very clean and beautifully decorated. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be back when we visit this city again!

Stopped in on my way to Canada, was pleasantly surprised!! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, the coffee and food was great and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun! If I didn t live 2 hours away I would totally come again!!

Really good food and coffee.. would recommend! Didn t love the mushroom soup but to each your own. I do like that they have different types of foods and options!

The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and enjoyable. The food was really good and flavorful. Nice combinations of different, healthy ingredients. Service was ok, not great but I noticed another server who was hustling so I suppose your mileage may vary. Its a smaller place so I don't think a large group would fit well unless you called and reserved most of the seats. They cater so I suppose they would host a gathering. Its more of a 2-4 person place with close seating. Price was a little on the high side at around 15 for food and drink but I don't mind supporting the local small businesses. All in all the whole experience was good from start to finish and I'll probably go back!

Fresh made sandwiches, breakfast items, salads as well as seasonal fare. My favorite sandwich is the Huron Avenue (I understand it is the most popular), and I do take out at least once or twice a week. Daily soup options add variety! A good breakfast choice is the avocado toast with an egg, my wife's favorite! Then you have the beverage options which are great!

Such a great place for lunch or breakfast. Have really great specialty drinks (hot or cold). Last but absolutely not least is their desserts. They have the kitchen sink cookie which is AMAZING. It basically has everything you might want ( hence the name-everything but the kitchen sink ). is something else!!!!!

Oh my goodness they have THEE BEST hot chocolate I've Ever had! They also hosted my buddy's wedding and it turned out very well!
