Based on the good reviews, we recently opted for an overnight stay at Vaeshartelt. However, the stay was a bit disappointing.

Positive:
- Location
- design
- clean

Negative:
- the food was ok, but I wouldn't recommend it.
- the beds slept moderately
- There was practically no option for a gluten and lactose free breakfast (only a gv sandwich), despite having informed in advance. It would have been nice if the staff had contributed and communicated that no breakfast might be better!
- my parents had a bottle of champi and flowers delivered to the hotel room with a personal message, on Arrival it said on the card, afz Team Vaeshartelt ?! So we dismissed that gift as standard hotel room deco.

Overall, staff were very friendly but absent-minded and not always skilled.

Been in the park terrace. Cozy space.

Some tight staffing at the weekend. Despite crowds, staff remained friendly. Fruit pie 4.00 coffee 2.50

Fantastic location with a great beautiful estate where you can walk.

Both the room and all rooms, country estate and estate are well maintained and very clean.

The employees are very friendly and the service in the accompanying restaurant and bistro is top notch.

Breakfast is recommended, very extensive with a variety of spreads and bread.

Downside is that you have to figure everything out yourself, you will receive the key to your room with the indication which floor you should be. That's it, good luck.

No information about where breakfast is served, what the options are for lunch or dinner or what can be seen in the area.

You have to be prepared to figure everything out for yourself and ask for it.

At the reception you will not find any information about activities in the area or cycling routes. When we raised this at the reception on the second day, we were told that there is information, but behind a white door, without anything mentioned on the door that you could find the leaflets there. What information there was was almost exclusively aimed at Valkenburg, nothing about Maastricht or the Mergelland route.

Outside we met a German couple who approached us when we wanted to go cycling. They were about to return home and asked us if we had rented the bicycles, to which we told them that they were our own, but that it is possible to rent bicycles at the reception. They were very surprised to hear this, would have liked to cycle but it was not given to them that it was possible to rent it.

I think it is a small effort to put a folder in the room that states what Vaeshartelt has to offer and where information about the area can be found.

A beautiful property combining an old historical building possessing character and charm with attached newer modern rooms with the desired amenities. The grounds are expansive and pastoral with walking trails, streams and bridges, a beekeeper area, farm area, a pond with fountain and seating to contemplate your surroundings. There is a restaurant and bar on site. It is an easy drive to see the sights in Maastricht. This is a fantastic place for a nice relaxing respite from your usual routine. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and recommend it highly.

Very good experience and definitely worth recommending! Friendly and helpful staff and clean tidy rooms. The estate is beautiful and the free fruit picking in the private gardens was also a nice surprise.

Staff unfriendly, to the point of rude. I can still understand from the young people (students?) That they know nothing about courtesy towards the guests, but I expected better from the older staff. I will never come here again.

Beautiful surroundings, very close to Maastricht center. The room was not very big, but nicely decorated. Nice staff, multiple dining options and the breakfast was delicious! A very nice garden to walk in! Really recommend!

Once had a good Easter brunch here so with good expectations to go here for Christmas Day. It started when we arrived, waiting almost an hour in a row to have to pay in advance. Only 1 person who could register all people. Another colleague ran wild to guide all guests to their table. Food choice was very limited and very tasteless. Buffetje for the children stood unannounced in a back corner. Found by chance. Children's ice creams were completely melted. (In the end received new) Queue for dessert on average 15 minutes and so we can continue. The staff did not care. Too bad there was no visible host, we could have indicated this on the spot. No more for us next time. A pity, because location is great ...

Nice hotel. Recently renovated and tastefully decorated. Brasserie is a must for the simple eater. Restaurant menu is somewhat limited, but the dishes are excellently prepared.
Gin Tonic Onstuimig and Shiftwork are recommended.

Fantastic location but unfortunately not a good price-quality ratio. Food was average, room (comfort plus) absolutely not special and small, service means well but is so young that you wouldn't use the word hospitality.

Go there for a drink but would ignore it further

The hotel, a converted chateau itself, is located in a beautiful and large park. The location about 6km from the center of Maastricht. Staff very friendly. The rooms could be a bit cleaner. We probably forgot to vacuum. There were some moldy spots in the shower. The breakfast offer rather clear. Coffee is available from the machine. But still suitable for a weekend trip. Yes, and there is a bike rental there too.

Here you can experience an authentic piece of landscape with trees from 1852. The hotel is good, the restaurant tasty, you don't have to go into the city for that. The breakfast is not inferior to the Amstelhotel for that 16.50 pp. And so cozy with all those too happy people from those 82 rooms of the hotel. Checking out 1100 hours is also a pleasure.
