Very nicely maintained park around Kasteel Keukenh...

Very nicely maintained park around Kasteel Keukenhof that is free of charge and cannot be visited from the inside. In the walled garden around the Kasteel bulb and bulbous plants are presented all year round, in autumn, for example, they bloom there. (until mid-October) 150 species of dahlias in all colors!

The modern LAM museum is located in the park.

The world famous tulip fields, usually associated with the name Keukenhof, are across the street and are a separate attraction.

Nice estate for walking. Castle is not very special, but nice that it is there.
Petting zoo is nicely done. Large meadow with goats, sheep, pigs, pony and horse. Also an interior with rabbits, chickens and mice.

The restaurant is beautiful. Also very child friendly.

In Corona time, a lovely walk in the castle garden. The domain looks beautiful in the early spring. Coffee and sweets also available at a kiosk. Well worth a short outdoor visit for those who love French garden style and modern art.

Very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff, good food and on a walking distance to main station building. A bit far away by walking to centre of town, but worth walking while admiring old buildings, shops . To have a coffee or tea break easy to be found on the way.

Great ride. The garden of Dahlias is the most beautiful thing. Entrance to the gardens is free. The Castle is under renovation / restoration, but you have to be smart because on some dates it opens to the public. We paid 5 each to visit the Castle from the inside and it's really worth it! Recalling that the Castle has one of the largest porcelain collections in the country.

Beautiful and neat park, opposite the Keukenhof park within walking distance. The restaurant is very disappointing, slow service, the restaurant closed abruptly and our order was incomplete. The market was small and meaningless and there were not many people.

Last Monday, June 10, we went to Day of the Castle. Nice, large park, parking was free on that day. There were many activities. For children there was a fun treasure hunt, a bouncy castle, covered wagon ride, ditch investigation at NME de Groene Bol and a spectacular bird of prey show and petting zoo. We can view the ground floor and the first floor of the castle and tell guides about the history of the castle. Recommended.

Keukenhof Castle is an impressive country house that dates back to the Golden Age. It was built in 1641 by Adriaen Maertenszoon Block, a former commander of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). This luxurious estate, near Lisse in South Holland, is also the home of the famous Keukenhof. But the castle itself is already an attraction worth visiting: the building and the art collection from the Golden Age are accessible for group tours. The gardens and parks can be visited throughout the year. There is also regularly something special to do on the estate: festivals, the annual Christmas market and Halloween festivities.
The park is open daily from April to September from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM; daily between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm from October to March. The castle is only accessible for group tours.
Access to the park is free.
Prices for tours: adults 10, children (4-17 years) 5.

Kasteel keukenhof is located nearby Keukenhof world garden. You need to walk out of the car park and turn right. A 10-15 min. walk will bring you there. There is a pretty ancient castle and sculptures for photographers. If you visit Keukenhof and have spare time, go to visit it. It will take you 1 hour to see everything.

The castle, the garden and the hofboerderij are a beautiful area to hang out or sit on the terrace. Small downside: for the price of the consumptions, the service is a bit sparse. The drinks could also have had at least one glass instead of a plastic cup. The benches could also have been cleaned from bird poop. But the medieval environment makes up for a lot.

Wonderful and charming place. Many types of tulips and other flowers. As this year 2018 the theme of the park was romance, there was an exhibition of roses and decorations focused on the theme.

Beautiful estate and free to visit. Come and walk on the estate and in the forest, come to the petting zoo or just relax with a snack and drink at restaurant 'Hofboerderij'. Pancakes, small menu, coffee with cake or drinks and bites, something for everyone!

Built in the 1600 s close to the town Lisse, nice to stroll around and great place to cycle around the place. Ideally setting for marriage, or any other functions, open place with restaurent in the garden.

Good weekend spot for family and small children. Not sure if there is a play area around. Inside there is food museum with online booking only.
