Last Monday, June 10, we went to Day of the Castle. Nice, large park, parking was free on that day. There were many activities. For children there was a fun treasure hunt, a bouncy castle, covered wagon ride, ditch investigation at NME de Groene Bol and a spectacular bird of prey show and petting zoo. We can view the ground floor and the first floor of the castle and tell guides about the history of the castle. Recommended.
Keukenhof Castle is an impressive country house that dates back to the Golden Age. It was built in 1641 by Adriaen Maertenszoon Block, a former commander of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). This luxurious estate, near Lisse in South Holland, is also the home of the famous Keukenhof. But the castle itself is already an attraction worth visiting: the building and the art collection from the Golden Age are accessible for group tours. The gardens and parks can be visited throughout the year. There is also regularly something special to do on the estate: festivals, the annual Christmas market and Halloween festivities.
The park is open daily from April to September from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM; daily between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm from October to March. The castle is only accessible for group tours.
Access to the park is free.
Prices for tours: adults 10, children (4-17 years) 5.
