I'm giving this office one star because of the schedulers - not the doctors. I called because I was outside weeding and a tall weed went up into my eye. I called to see if I can get in and the first appointment was at 9:15. That wouldn't work for me because I am out of town and I wouldn't get there in time. I asked for an afternoon appointment and she told me that she couldn't give me one because of the time of my call. They hand out the appointments on a first come first serve basis. When I asked her if I called later in the day, could they get me in, she said no because it's already logged that I called. She was so rude and cut me off when I was trying to explain my situation. So, I can't get in to see my opthamologist and had to make an appointment with my family doctor. Here's hoping he can help!

Be prepared to wait a really long time! Appointments will take upwards of 1.5 hours for a check up without even an eye exam. If you want to bring someone with you (as everyone needs to after eye surgery!) they may or may not allow you to have that person come in the room with you. My elderly mother was made to go in by herself because the room wasn t big enough for 2 people!? As a result questions that needed to be asked weren t and she was left in the dark (literally) as to next steps. The staff seems very insensitive to the needs of the elderly.

Don't get LASIK via this office. Dr. Higgins did a pretty good job on the surgery (perfect in one eye, less than 1.0 diopter off in the other eye), but the follow up has been expensive, communication has been poor, and office staff are defensive. We were told the follow up appointments to see if an "enhancement" (i.e. correction) was needed would be included in the LASIK package, but now we find out that's only for 6-9 months post surgery. Since my husband's eyes turned out not too bad, the doctor said to come back in another year to decide whether to go under the laser again. It turns out that it's not avisable to get surgery again if your eyes are stable at less than 1.0 diopter off. But the eye exam needed to find this out was NOT included in the LASIK package, and we paid over $200 out of pocket. Also at the time of surgery we paid almost $200 for prescription eye drops, not included in the LASIK package. So calculate another $400+ on the advertised price. Buyer beware.

Had a good experience took a elderly handicap lady who had an appointment with them. They let me go thru the whole process of her getting the glasses she needed . I could ask questions for her and answer questions for her as she had a stroke and is a little forgetful . Very helpful and friendly people.

I would never recommend. Customer service is beyond horrible. I called 2 months ago for an appointment and was told February was the soonest. Okay. Found out I am losing my insurance at year end could i reschedule sooner? No. No let me see what i can do. No I'm sorry let me see what i can do. Just no. I have been a patient there for a number o years and find this company to be seriously lacking in the ability to service their customers.

When I began to notice changes with my vision I was understandably concerned, especially when the changes were so dramatic and happened so quickly. With one call to Kalamazoo Ophthalmology l had an appointment scheduled for the same day. Everyone with whom I interacted was kind, professional and genuinely concerned with helping me. Dr Blostica was thorough with her exam, answered all of my questions and went out of her way to set up a referral to a retinal specialist so that I could be seen quickly. She obviously knew that I was anxious and would only become more concerned if I had to wait through a prolonged referral process. The next afternoon after I had returned home from my referral appointment she even called me at home to see how I was doing. That truly felt like she was going above and beyond what I expected.

I feel so confident with my care at Kalamazoo Ophthalmology and so thankful that we have such kind and compassionate professionals in our community.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Especially dealing with a female in billing. I believe her name is Holly. She acts like it is a bother to answer billing questions and that the customer is supposed to know what the billing codes and terminology meanings are. She is extremely snobby and shows a feeling of patronizing superiority all when just asked a billing question. This is not the first time I have had to deal with this woman for a billing concern. We will be looking for a new opthamologist for our family. There is no need to be this rude. This is not the only place to go in this area. Eye doctors are a dime a dozen. I don't understand how she can be so rude to a paying customer.

Love Dr Blostica! If I didn t would move on. Cashier chomping on gum, no greeting, just held out hand for paperwork.
A mistake was made by Kzoo Opthamology and I was immediately in contact with Holly in billing - took nearly a full year to clear up! She NEVER did what was asked of her, very put out even though the error was hers and she does work in billing. She failed to follow contractual rules set forth with Unitied Healthcare. Threatening me with collections and continuing to bill me. When finally resolved I was owed a credit - never mailed out and when I returned for yearly visit was treated like I was cheating them when asked about applying the credit?? Horrible horrible customer service.

I've been a patient for over 30 years with Kalamazoo Ophthalmology, when it was started under Dr. Schut and D'Vorak. I agree that staff is something to be desired, not costumer friendly and the service is not the same. I feel like I'm on an assembly line, feel rushed through. Not up on billling procedures or co-payments.

Recently had cataract surgery on both eyes, done by Dr Bibart. I had no problems whatsoever, surgery and postop went perfectly. Had no issues with the staff, all were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this office.

Staff was rude when I called today for appointment as eye is still bothering me. I had to say twice that I want my eye checked. My doctor is awesome but I am tired of how the staff is. I don't go there or call to be treated with disrespect. I go back for the care my doctor provides. I try to keep a positive attitude when I go in there but it is not easy at times. As I read the other reviews, I see I am not the only person who has been treated bad. Something should be done about this as we are paying customers. Dr. Blostica is why I keep going back!

From the minute I walked into the door, the staff was friendly and professional. They made me feel welcome, helped with my paperwork and were very caring. The staff member that did my testing before seeing the Dr. was professional, sweet and caring. I waited for over 20 minutes for the Dr. and when he came in, he did not introduce himself, tapped on the equipment to show me that he wanted me to put my chin there, told me to put my head back while he was holding a bottle of something that he was going to put into my eyes without explaining any of the procedure and insulted my primary care physician who had sent me emergently to his office. It was a "waste of time" for me to be there.
I had to wait for the checkout procedure while the person finished a personal conversation and she was not helpful or pleasant at all. I asked a few questions and her answers were short and a little snippy. Great start, poor finish.
