Really amazing food from top to bottom, a gorgeous and expansive property, and too notch service. Highly recommend!
Great property. Food is great, rooms are great, overall fantastic expierence.
One of the best experiences I've had in San Antonio.
This is a very nice resort. Very clean. Very friendly. Lots to do. Good food. We were happy with our stay.
Great little getaway close enough to be in our backyard!
We went to bar on Christmas Day and was ignored. Glad to see bartender and waitress in duty enjoying their drink
Bathrobe left in my closet was dirty and had no tie
JW has went downhill
The quality of service here was incredible. I would recommend it to someone immediately.
This is a mega hotel. If you're looking for anything quaint or non commercial, look elsewhere. This is one of those giant Marriott properties. There is very little to do there except playing golf, go to the gym, and play video games. The walking trails are pathetic, something you would not expect in the Texas Hill Country. I suppose there are other activities that you might be able to get through the concierge but I am confident it would be very expensive. The rooms are decent, but pretty standard. We were there for a conference and I will say that catering service was very good and the food was better than the usual for such events. The place is expensive and I think you get more bang for your buck at the Hyatt Hill Country, which has nicer more natural grounds and more activities.
Very nice property featuring an onsite golf course, spa, and water slides. The bar has enormous projecting screens for watching the game. However, food is a bit pricey, and the property is remote from downtown and other featured locations in San Antonio.
Crooked Branch is great for gatherings. The pool area is great.
Exquisite! Love the hospitality, service, pool, spa, restaurants and rooms.
My family loved our stay. It was a shame they misplaced our entire room breakfast order and subsequently screwed up my entire morning, but 1st world problems, right.. What really ticked me off is they basically implied it was our fault for not placing the order card on the door handle. We ordered room service the previous night and placed the order card on the service cart. It was CLEARLY separate from everything and, for that matter, physically about 10" from my door knob. Still somehow the card went MIA.. They provided a small credit for our next stay. So maybe next time will be a bit better. My kids say we're going back, so... There you have it. It's worth the visit and stay. Oh, and it is worth noting the sunrise was beautiful on the pool side!
Great property, nice room, great golf courses and help.
This is a beautiful property. I have been twice on business.
Pros:
1. Well maintained and beautiful property
2. Attentive staff
3. Very nice pool area
4. Valet system using text messages - works great and saves time
Cons:
1. My wife and I were on this trip but they still put us in a room with two double beds. What married couple normally wants two doubles? They couldn't move me because all the king beds were already taken.
2. TV in my room was very dark and remote was very unresponsive. Couldn't make changes to setting myself to fix. Sounds minor and it is, but after a long day of meetings you want to just sit down, turn on the TV and have everything work at the price you are paying.
Would stay again. Always a fan of most Marriott properties.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Great views as you drive up the hill and get a glimpse of this magnificent building, you know you are in a special place. There is absolutely nothing that went wrong during the stay.
This is a beautiful Texas Hill Country property. Lovely views no matter what side of the resort your room is on. The water feature, pools, slide and lazy river are extensive and well designed. Did not play the golf course so I can't rate it although what I can see from the hotel, it looks like a fun round.
We were guests of some guests :) we went to the pool facilities and I was shocked at what all they had! It was like a water park! My boys absolutely loved it! The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. It was a great experience!
Attended an expo. There wasnt enough parking and a large amount of people had to park on the street. Venue was very clean and pretty.
Incredible fun for kids. Good food at the right prices, fun 2vents, and an incredible set of pools and slides.
I only stopped by to have dinner with my sister prior to her junior prom and all the wait staff as well as people in general were so pleasant to be around whilst providing excellent service.
Absolutely wonderful! We travel often and this is in our top 5 for sure. The staff here is amazing! Kind and accommodating. The food on site is wonderful too! It is super clean and there are constantly activities going on!
Great course. Very challenging. Watch out for the sandtraps, they're everywhere.
Bougie AF... Makes no sense to spend over $200/night. Animals lost their homes for greedy bougie people.
Came for a work event, great drinks and food. Very clean and elegant while having a impressive pool.
Public facing areas are clean, fresh and well maintained. My room has some wear and tear that I would not expect from a hotel of this caliber. One chair has clearly seen better days, tub stopper does not stop water from leaking. Shower floor is very slippery. Staff have been too notch, always a ready smile and accommodating.
Was there for a corporate event. Food was fantastic, bars had good selection of local beers. Rooms were comfortable but mine did not have a balcony. Staff was excellent, always helpful and friendly.
Beautiful and spacious! Great service! Only wish it was closer to town!
Plenty of Space and they keep the kids active... GREAT presentation and product
Wonderful resort. Beautiful grounds, excellent staff and service, fun water park and excellent food. Nothing is cheap but everything is worth it. Skip the valet and Door Dash some of your meals to save a few dollies. My family will be back
I live nearby, so I haven't stayed in a room, but the grounds are very nice and the Cibolo Moon restaurant has a good menu.
This place is wonderful and my place of work I invite you to visit it.
Amazingly beautiful. You hav e the money it's another WORLD. It's..its own play land for all. Spas, giant wet area. Starbucks, fed ex.. u can live.work from here . Long term stay. Company parties. Conference room gigantic. Love love
A great place to bring the kids for a weekend of R&R. A full waterpark complete with lazy river and slides are so much fun for the family. The rooms are very clean and all the staff I've encountered have been incredibly friendly.
It looks like you're driving up to Hogwarts at night. Beautiful! Valet and staff are very hospitable
Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Nice, relaxing pool area that includes a lazy river and water slides. The service at the pool (drinks, food) is very slow. The times I've been, there was only one waiter servicing the entire lazy river area. I asked for a water and it took more than 30 minutes to get it.
Awesome venue for ODTUG...or for any other aspiring IT company...
Oaks Course is very difficult, but fun to play a course the pros play
The hotel was very nice and the staff was extremely helpful. The person who brought my bags up took the time to show us the details of the room. There was lots of activities for the kids (some free, others way too priecy, but that's expected). The one issue we had was trying to have dinner at the sports grill. It took around 2 hours to seat us, when we were told 30 minutes. Even more frustrating is there were multiple open tables that entire time. Overall, good experience though.
If I hadn't received a discounted rate, I would have felt cheated. First impressions are wonderful, and the property is without a doubt beautiful. Just not worth the full rate, especially when you get hit with their resort fees and outrageous drink and meal prices. If you like bringing your kids to hang out with your drunk friends at the pool, you'll love it.
great atmosphere in the restaurant bar but very slow service for a not so busy night. food was good but nothing to write home about
Elegant hotel that his high up in t he him country. It is very secluded in a home community. Golf course and span on site. Seems to be a popular place for events. As the weekend approached, it got busy and loud.. fast !
Massage experience was very disappointing. We checked in just in time but we took our time to change and walk around the facility which was taken off the time of our massage without any warning or $ off. The therapist rushed through the massage which made the experience quite stressful.
Not what you expect from a 5* resort.
Great family experience. Food is actually decent here And the cocktails are good too !
So much to do for all ages. Everything is open late or 24/7.
Awesome hotel; not much around it however. Watch out for the family of skunks and raccoons that visit the property. The rooms are really nice. We had an amazing view from our room.
The light/music show is impressive but the gingerbread display was incredible. All free!
Loved it there the building the staff there was so nice!
The JW Marriott in San Antonio is a great place to spend the weekend! Very clean rooms and lots of options.
The place, just by looking at it, made it feel like you were going to have the best relaxing time ever. And it really was.
The property is beautiful. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of stepping on a screw in my room. See photo. It was on my first night there, and while thankfully it didn't break the skin, it was still painful. This seems like the sort of thing the maid should have noticed while cleaning.
Spent a few days here for a business conference and enjoyed everything about the place...
My family of 4 loved our weekend stay here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of swimming pools, a few rides, and a lazy river. The hotel is huge and there are lots of lounging areas including outside fireplaces. There are two restaurants. One is ok but the other is overpriced.
Nice place / good service with attention to details
Showed up with my family for memorial weekend only to be told that the hotel was over booked and they could no longer honor my reservation (which I had made 7 weeks before). They offered to pay for us to stay else where, but with the holiday weekend we had to stay downtown and then commute to the resort to use the resort pool. Very disappointing. With having a three year old who naps, this was not my ideal situation. We love the jw and have stayed there many times. I am so disappointed in how this turned out.
Attention to detail is what sets this place apart. Fantastic amenities and helpful staff. Immaculate grounds. Awesome
Gorgeous hotel and resort. Friendly staff, delicious food at Velocity. Awesome water park for a young family.
The location is beautiful. And everything is very well maintained
The staff at the 18 Oaks was excellent. They were very attentive to our every need. I did ask for my Beeman Ranch Texas Wagyu made medium well but it ended up being well done. The steak was very good regardless. I had the side of asparagus, mash potatoes, and spinach which was very delicious. I will definitely go back again.
