Had lunch at 616, everyone's food was excellent. If parking was cheaper, I would go there more often!

My family enjoyed our stay. We had an excellent view of the city and river. Kids enjoyed the pool. They have a jacuzzi and two saunas. One infused mint or something into the steam. Nice touch. 4/5 stars because the food situation for the family was limited. I ended up grabbing a pizza from across the street and bringing it back to the room.
Great location, the hotel was nice. The staff was uninformed and unable to answer simple questions. The staff took our luggage out of room and set it outside 2 hours before we need to checkout, my family and I were completely surprised to find our luggage sitting outside while we arrived back from Panera Bread. We were not to happy to find they left several items in our room after telling us it was emptied. They gave no reason as to why they did it without permission.
Top Notch customer service regardless of a night stay, a Starbucks coffee, or a drink and dinner. They know how to take care of their customers definitely worth a stop
My father and i were in town for a concert. Great downtown hotel! Ryer the bellman was great super friendly and accommodating.
Excellent service at the Mixology bar. Zac is the best!
We visited art prize and viewed all the art. It was a fantastic viewing and great to meet the artists.
Hotel was clean. Everything I needed was in the room. Fantastic veiw over the river and the city. Would stay there again.
Clean and friendly hotel. Easy access around the area.
Great event hall, they took good care of our group.
Man I ain't even playin' we gots it poppin' at the breakfast bar and Lord, have, mercy! I ate way more than needed. Got one of them om's with all the fixins! Get like me and hit this place up yourself!
Pretty good hotel. I would stay again if I had to but would likely look at cheaper options. Parking alone is $29 per night which is rather ridiculous for self park in Grand Rapids. It's not Chicago. Does are great but the beds weren't super comfortable. The towels were very scratchy and uncomfortable.
Service was incredibly slow and unattentive on the Jdek and in six.one.six despite the restaurant being nearly empty
This was my first time visiting a JW Marriott and I loved it. I was being treated by Steelcase who partnered with JW on this hotel and my group recieved 1st class service. I really enjoyed my stay.
It was a gorgeous hotel. Very busy but the staff was very helpful and happy. Wonderful stay.
Stayed in a king suite that had great river views. The lounge on the 23rd floor had a pretty light spread each of the times we visited, so I wouldn't really on it for much more than a snack. Staff was friendly and courteous at every point. The only issue we encountered was the doors to the pool which didn't work and required maintenance to eventually let us in.
very nice hotel with extremely respectful staff. Lobby kind of small, elevators pretty fast even though not many for a lot of floors. Would stay again!
Elite location amongst all of the best that Grand Rapids has to offer in dining and entertainment. The accommodations are modern, chic and impeccably clean. The top floors have a gorgeous view of the Grand River and the pretty bridges that cross. The executive lounge is loaded with great snacks, drinks and food....and it is open on weekends!! Top notch experience at this JW Marriott location!
Awesome...except for "their signature aroma" w-a-y too much...could almost hear it, it was so potent. Otherwise fabulous!
Excellent. The view of the GR fireworks from the J-deck was fantastic.
Had an amazing experience while I was there. The drinks were fantastic and the service was great.
Great stay, had an amazing view of the river. Very modern hotel with lots of amenities. My only complaint would be parking was $24 for the night but I'm sure that's expected in downtown. Still a five star!
You're always so nice the executive room the people that work there are super
Great Hotel with amazing views. Pool and hot tub are nice, sauna can run a bit hot. Bed was nice and comfy I always like Marriott's beds. Very calm atmosphere with the meeting rooms being in a different section than sleeping rooms.
Best hotel stay I've had and the most forward friendly hotel within miles.
Beautiful hotel that is centrally located. A fantastic place to stay while in Beer Town USA!
I have always loved a nice hotel and our stay at the JW Grand Rapids was nothing short of perfection. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are truly amazing. The rooms are all newly renovated with no expense spared. The beds and especially the pillows will lull even the most severe insomniac into a wonderful night of sleep. Don't even get me started about the GORGEOUS bathroom with a new full soaker tub and a shower with multiple jets (heaven) !
The staff is really fantastic, all responsive and extremely respectful. We were greeted when we arrived by Ryan who works in Valet and he treated us like family. The staff goes out of there way to make you feel like you are the most important guest in the hotel.
We had a great time and everyone in my group left raving about this hotel. I travel often for work and stay at 4-5 star hotels. In 15+ years of traveling this was the nicest hotel in every way that i've ever stayed at. Don't miss it!!
The rooms are nice and the location is perfect. With that being said, we stayed over Valentine s Day Weekend and had a bad experience. They accidentally took our personal champagne glasses that we brought to celebrate with (our glasses had gold speckles in them, so we aren t sure how the misstep happened). We didn t immediately notice because we asked for housekeeping to come up to sweep the floor as I accidentally dropped my bottle of perfume on the bathroom floor and the glass was everywhere. When we returned to the room late that evening we paid attention to the bathroom floor rather than a belongings check. Let me add that there was still glass everywhere, so we picked up the glass and then put towels down so we could use the bathroom for our last night. In the morning, when we realized our glasses were removed from the room, we asked the front desk for help. They called around but weren t getting a response, so they said they would call us, as we were leaving to head home. Well, I never received a phone call. Since we didn t even get an apology or acknowledgement of the mishap, I wrote a complaint to corporate, which, with the exception of an email that said it was being passed on to the management of the location, I never received a response. To me, if I m going to pay to stay at a JW Marriott, I expect great service.
A month later I stayed at a 3 star hotel in downtown Grand Rapids and I wrote a raving review to corporate because their customer service blew JW out of the water. That room and experience cost me about 1/4 of my stay at the JW. Not hard to make that decision 10 times out of 10. Customer service goes a long way, as does bad service. It is May and I m still bitter about this place. We chose them to celebrate with and we lost an important part of the celebration, a simply apology would have made us feel better and confident that they tried to find our belongings.
Beautiful hotel. Everything looked amazing. Very modern rooms. The bathrooms are to die for. The staff was very courteous and generous at all times of the day and night. Definitely recommend if you need to spend some time in downtown Grand Rapids.
Beautiful views. Wonderful service. Polite, professional staff.
Very nice hotel. Was here for as conference so didn't stay in avroom but the staff was really nice and helpful.
The event was held outside the hotel, so I can't say too much about the Marriott itself. I can say the location was convenient in the center of downtown, which is where I needed to be, and I've only heard good things about the hotel from friends who have stayed there longer.
Beautiful hotel in a perfect spot for walking in GR.
We went for a birthday and loved the room! There is a bath tub in the room and a shower with 2 shower heads. Allowed me to upgrade to a king corner room. Also nice view of flooded river!
Came for a late night cocktail - would have been nice to be able to order food but we were too late.
They have a Pokemon Go gym... and Starbucks? Never actually stayed here.
Juiceball went great! The staff at the Marriott treated us well as usual.
Very clean and we run property. Reasonably priced food, great service.
I am incredibly happy my wife chose to stay here the weekend of our wedding. The staff was extremely helpful and was able to answer all of our questions. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bar onsite was perfect and a great place to have a few. The location in downtown makes it easy to get anywhere very easily. We can't wait to stay here again in the future as our favorite hotel in Grand Rapids!
We spent part of the afternoon and evening in a Cabana. Once we got past the disappointment of him not working at State Farm, Jake was a rockstar waiter and took good care of our rowdy group. In the evening we were jamming with Jill as she sang and played (along with us) several popular tunes. Had a blast! We'll definitely be back!
Great hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. A short walk from many places. For Marriott Gold members, the concierge lounge is open even on weekends.
Staff was awesome and very accomidating. Order the fresh cookies from room service, you wont be disappointed
Nobody can deny the elegance and attraction of this luxurious hotel. It lures you in when you step foot in there, but everything is not as it seems. For how much they pride themselves in their "high quality customer service" I was surprised they couldn't even have the decency to call someone when they dont get a job. They surely can waste your time for 3 interviews but not even an email or call to explain why you weren't enough. What I do want to know from them is what is enough? If 4 years of experience and amazing customer service skills isn't then what would be? It was a bit ridiculous considering I had another job offer within 2 hours of the interview, I hope they feel stupid for missing out on a great worker.
If you get Lash Extentions or are interested in trying it, I highly recommend the JW Mariott Spa! I ve gone to several other places in the past, but here their quality and technique is top notch! I go to Brandi and she always does the most amazing job, and not to mention she s such a joy to talk to. I get compliments all the time and people often ask me where I get them done. Well, here s my secret. ;) 100% worth the price! They look natural and full (I get the Volume technique) and they really help accentuate my eyes. These lashes are everything!
Arriving into the hotel was a breeze. Very little wait to check in and the atruim area was beautiful. We were celebrating our 10th Anniversary and I told the front desk that. We checked in and she said she gave us an upgrade to a corner room with a river view. The room was gorgeous!!! We left and went to dinner, when we returned there was a complimentary split of wine with cheese and crackers. What a wonderful surprise. The bed was comfy very nice linens and bunches of pillows. What an awesome experience. Can't wait to stay again!
Great service. Nice staff. Though the rooms seemed dusty. And the "fragrance in the lobby was overwhelming.
I went to Prom at JW Marriott. The Hotel is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. The drinks and parking were very expensive though.
We enjoyed our stay but it could have been better. The TV didn't work in our room, so we had to be relocated to another room. We grabbed a table with another couple in front of the reception desk outside Margot restaurant but we didn't get a server for at least 45 minutes and by the time he came back to take our order, another 30 minutes have passed and it was time to leave! Too bad, we were looking to get a few cocktails!
It's a lively hotelon the Grand River, in the heart of Grand Rapids. Highly recommend for food, beverages and rooms.
Excellent service, food and wine. Fabulous evening!
This hotel holds its own with some of the world's finest. First of all, the building has an excellent view of the water, and it is spectacular. Everything looks brand new and smells amazing. They offered chocolates on the pillow each night and have 24 hour room service (even has GF options). Already planning my next trip.
We visited this hotel for Artprize. It was well appointed and comfortable to view the art. I recommend viewing art at this hotel.
Nice place, friendly staff, and overall pleasant place to stay
Very clean and very nice hotel. The bar had great views and service.
We went just outside the six one six for jazz. The staff was really friendly but it was a bit short staffed as spectrum had a party on. So they weren't able to attend to us as much. Not their fault they didn't have enough people just the way it was.
Rooms and staff were absolutely amazing!! Breakfast was phenomenal at buffet, and our waitress Liz was great!
Very nice place, easily accessible from the freeway, decent size ballrooms.
