First Class service all the way. They really go the extra mile to take care of their guests.
My wife and I had our wedding reception here and to celebrate our first anniversary we were given a complimentary one night stay, along with some extra perks.
The hotel and kitchen staff take great care of us every time we come visit.
Customer service was rude on the phone, and would not give a rate until we booked a room. Not impressed.

I enjoyed my stay at JW Marriott. The location was excellent, right off highway 131. The rooms and service were spectacular as well. I will definitely revisit again if in the area.

Would have gave it a fifth star however the smell in the lobby was so over powering and nasty smelling! They should pick something fruity or clean smelling not the smell of rotting roses/ flowers that had almost grandma/old person after scent! I literally AVOIDED going into the lobby for any reason and at all costs! Not good! Other than that and the fact I feel the rooms are a tad over priced as ive stayed in resorts on beautiful beachs/oceans in literal paradise that were cheaper and WAYYYY more luxurious and fancy than here! Just saying! However the service is impeccable!
This place is awful to deliver to especially for GrubHub and ubereats employees! It's hard to find, and the maps always takes you to some weird route to get to the location and I have literally had to leave my van with the hazard lights on basically in the middle of the road because there is no parking for free even if you're just running in and right back out within a few minutes. And maneuvering through this building is another thing entirely! I couldn't even find out where the rooms were here cuz it's so huge! I think it would be good as a customer who is paying to stay temporarily at the rooms cuz it's got a lot of amenities and looks really nice, but for someone on my end things you could never afford this is a million years, it's just a nightmare to deliver to somebody here!
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The staff is phenomenal, valets are so nice, bellmen are the sweetest, front desk is very informed and helpful. My sister threw my bachelorette party in Grand Rapids and got us a room at the JW Marriott. She decorated our room so cute and the bellmen who helped bring up my future sister-in-law's bags said our room was decorated the best they've ever seen! So nice! They also ran us up a couple items we forgot we needed for decorating, like scissors and batteries for our string lights! When we went out to dinner and came back to get ready for the evening, the front desk had sent up a bottle of champagne (expensive nice brand!) and a cute delicous dessert that said 'Let the party begin!' as a surprise! They really take care of you there! The hotel is immaculate, the beds are so comfortable, the views are beautiful (we were in a city view and my sister asked if we could have a free room upgrade lol but they had already upgraded us to a river view!), and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. There is a huge shower and large tub in the bathroom which was very cool. The room was very spacious, modern and clean!
We were in Grand Rapids for a volleyball tournament and we enjoyed the Sky walk that took us straight to DeVos Place. Super convenient. Walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants.
Attended the little black dress party here and the ballroom was really well set up with multiple bar areas. Coat check was also provided
Wonderful view, room service was prompt, the bed was extremely comfy, but the shower was in my opinion the best part. Whatever shower head they are using I have to find it.
The accommodations at JW Marriott GR are enough to make a someone feel very comfortable. Not to mention the rooms. On the first floor you have Mixology and Starbucks. With plenty of area to sit and relax. The second floor boasts a ballroom and access to the sky walk. Once you get to your room, it's just as grandiose. The room that I've had the pleasure of staying in was really nice. The bathroom was gigantic with a nice tub to lay in. The beds we're comfy and the room accessories were nice for anyone who wanted to watch TV or access the internet. The view was also amazing. You can see most of the Grand River bank and see the buildings and land on the west side. Not mention if you go outside by the elevators you are greeted with a view from inside a huge cavern made out of glass. With the lights and ambiance, it's nothing more than a great experience.
Went to a wedding here in October and it was really nice. The staff was great and our bartender was a pro!
Grand Rapids Marriott is a perfect place for the traveler seeking to be relaxed, yet well located. This JW Marriott is perfectly located and is in easy walking distance to great shops and offices. I love being a guest here.
Lovely hotel, staff, food, location, and anything else you might like. Bathtub exceedingly clean and large enough for someone 6'4
The JW Merritt of Grand Rapids was holding an event at the hotel on the 5th of August which me and my wife attended. We had a great time and the staff was a breath of fresh air.
Had another guest walk into my room and the only water was scalding hot.
I was here for a conference, and everything went quite well from the hotel side of things. All of the staff was incredibly helpful and the food was pretty good. The hotel itself is really nice as well, at least what I saw of it.
Everything was great but the waitress part could be a little bit better
Beautiful hotel next to the river. Contemporary and chic with restaurants within walking distance and in hotel. One can walk down by the river. Starbucks in lobby.
Nice room, but I paid way too much for two beds and only got one! Me and my three friends did not pay to sleep on the floor. Never staying here again.
Decent place for a Pokemon raid, parking is a bit of a challenge though.

This one is difficult. I had trouble determining if they deserve a 3 or a 4 star rating from me. The rooms were standard and nice. The service and atmosphere in the restaurant was weird and funky. The food was OK, not great. We ate there one night and walked over to a local bar across the street for other meals, it was good. The whole atmosphere was off, no the kind of experience you would expect from a JW Marriott. We have stayed in Marriott Hotels a lot, my wife and I were Platinum for several years.
Service was excellent. Very responsive and attentive.

Great atmosphere and location. Wonderful staff that wants to take care of you. My only real complaint is parking - so many people use the valet there's a decent wait to get your vehicle.
The hotel was very nice! The pool was a little smaller than I was expecting, but still a good size. My family of 7 was able to swim comfortably. There is also parking very close by, connected by the sky bridge, so you never have to go outside.
The location is within walking distance of nearby attractions (DeVos Performance Hall, Art Museums, Restaurants, etc) and seated right on the river. We had some nice views from the 15th floor of the river. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was the most courteous of any hotel I've ever stayed in. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
The hotel is stunning and exceptional, especially remarkable considering the circumstances of the coronavirus. I highly recommend this hotel.
My parents stay here when they are in town. The rooms are very clean and put together very well with great attention to detail, note card with the weather was nice. The pool and spa area is the real key, try the eucalyptus sauna - very relaxing. Top floor is the consergie lounge aka the breakfast and snack zone which also has a nice coffee and espresso machine. Everything considered, the JW is worth the visit and very busy during ArtPrize (early fall).
Only went I to the restaurant and lobby, but those looked beautiful. Plus they had Tesla people out front showing the full line-up, that is reason enough to go here.
Not what I expected. The lobby was beautiful but came back to our room to a tv that didn t work. Spent about 10 minutes trying to troubleshoot and then just let the hotel know. Maybe the next person who gets this room will have a working tv. Not good Marriott.
Staying at the JW was a delight. I was there on Christmas eve and had an amazing view of the city. The staff was accommodating, going above and beyond to provide wonderful service.
Good hotel great location and good food at the restaurant there at the hotel. Bed was alittle to firm for me. Didn't sleep well because of that.

This place is the cats meow.... The rooms are perfect for couple to get away for the weekend. The view is stunning over looking the river on a snowy night in Grand Rapids. Their is a really nice restaurant on the main floor if you don t want to go out. Lots of place with in walking for food and a few drinks. This hotel would be a ton of fun with a bunch of friends or family to burn midnight oil with.
Understand a bunch of folks from Indianapolis was just here on yesterday we just missed them.

I photographed here for a couple who was getting ready for their wedding and was really impressed by the facilities and well as the staff (who were super helpful). The rooms were photogenic, with awesome views of downtown Grand Rapids. Attached are a few photos. =) Highly recommended!
