JW Marriott Grand Rapids Review

The outdoor deck is very nice and relaxing. Staff was prompt and attentive. Prepare to pay a little more for drinks.

The staff here are some of the kindest caring people. We always get the best treatment when staying here. Room service is quick and everything is always clean. JW Marriot is the only place we stay when we come to GR.

Love this hotel. Usually a fantastic stay. Covid has crippled this state and many others. Hopefully this will be over soon and these folks can get back to work.

The room was larger than I expected, and everything was very clean

Hotel is great, but there was blood on the sheets and a jazz band woke us up in the morning.

JW Marriott Grand Rapids is one of my favorite hotels to visit. They have some of the friendliest staff and it's simply gorgeous. From Starbucks, to the front desk, to valet, and the concierge lounge on the 23rd floor, the staff is wonderful. They go above and beyond. Definitely would recommend for any occasion. Best hotel in GR and downtown for sure. Amazing views. Walking distance to pretty much anything near downtown. The sky walk connected to the hotel comes in handy too.

Visited as guest of wedding party. Very nice facilities, Rollins have gorgeous view of Grand Rapids.

Went to husbands work Christmas party, reserved a room with full size bed. Was quoted a price several weeks in advance. When we checked out the bill was $50.00 more than quoted. Nothing was used in the room. Example: TV, internet, . The explanation given was where did I park. That was it. My daughter also reserved a room at the same time. She arrived 20 minutes before I did. She had requested a king size bed. Was told they didn't have any. Got to her room. It wasnt cleaned at all. Had to call and get it cleaned . When I arrived we were given a king size bed. My daughter was very upset over this

Did not stay overnight this trip. Have stayed as a guest on other visits. Food is always good, started is friendly and helpful. The building is incredible. When you step out of the elevator on your floor you can look over the ledge and see the lobby on the first floor.

Was nice but not much different than your average hotel.

Air conditioning never got the room cold. You could hear every little movement from floor above and hallways. I will say housekeeping did an amazing job with cleaning though.

I only was here for a little bit at an expo for an event. Nevertheless the staff was friendly and the venue was clean and well maintained

Beautiful venue, came here for a conference for work. Great area, lots of room for tables, mingling and networking. Nice outside area with great views of the river. Would highly recommend bringing people here for weddings or other events.

Fantastic staff. Bathroom lacked some comfort (very small vanities. ) Overall great experience.

The beds were very comfortable and good quality bedding. My wife is very particular with the bedding and she was impressed. We had a great city view also.

Top notch hotel right from the valet all the way up to your room. Views are great and are always clean. Turn down service is a nice touch, but you expect that from a hotel of this caliber. They have been doing some renovations to keep the place fresh and inviting.

Best place in Grand Rapids to stay. It upholds the JW standard: impeccably clean rooms, food and beverage that's one of a kind, and top notch professional staff. We make it a point to stay here each year for our anniversary as a way to pamper ourselves.

Wow what a great hotel. I love it. Clean and beautiful room, comfy bed, great gym, and the staff was excellent. I had no idea we had such nice hotels in the U.S. I have seen this type of a Marriott only in Europe. I highly recommend the place.

My wife and I stayed here one night for our Anniversary. The rooms were amazing, with fantastic views of the river. The staff were nice enough but it is interesting how higher end hotels tend to purposely interact with their guests very little. I imagine its a preference for people who spend a lot of time in these types of hotels.

Upscale bar inside this hotel was very disappointing. We visited it twice during our stay & both times the staff were more concerned with stocking the bar, washing glasses, etc than getting drinks & serving guests.
Like I said very disappointing for a Marriot property.

The room was good. Very small but clean. The gift shop/convenience store was a joke!!! They should close it & not keep this embarrassment open!! Seriously, not stocked at all or even staffed, although the door was open. It was pitiful.

Walked thru for ArtPrize, but my sister has stayed in this hotel and we always have a very nice experience.

Amazing hotel, their hotel game is tight! Nice bar with good food. One of the only GR places to enjoy a drink outside overlooking the Grand River. Very accommodating staff. Quite an experience!

Nice modern place. Clean rooms. Nice big shower and tub. The corner room had a nice view of the river.

The staff was very professional. The restaurant and lounge was upscale and looked like a great place to enjoy some socializing. Everyone I met was pleasant and courteous.

Nice and clean hotel, the staff are very friendly. There was a mix up with my room but by the end of my stay they had handled the situation very well and I am a satisfied customer. The location is perfect, I would recommend this hotel to anyone trying to stay in the heart of downtown GR.

Beautiful. Stayed on the 16th floor. Stunning view. Room was excellent. Good size, not too spacious so it felt cozy yet fancy.

The location is great in downtown GR. A little party store across the street, and many bars within walking distance.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Good view. Restaurant in ground floor has great food and drink selection. Walkways to many conf halls at neighboring facilities. Staff is friendly.

Loved this hotel. Stayed for a wedding. Modern design. Felt new and clean throughout. Great pool/sauna/steam room. Hotel faces river with full glass front and great views. Walking distance to just about everything. Adjacent parking in hotel garage (+$). Check-in took a surprisingly long time and checking out was a bit of a hassle too as wedding account had not been handled correctly, but account rep took care of everything professionally and quickly the following Monday. Hotel can be a bit noisy at weekend due to (good) music in lounge which can travel freely up front (open to hotel roof) of elevator lobby. The hotel is not very wide and noise travels well from lobby even to 10th+ floor rooms. Recommend you go downstairs and enjoy the music until they are done! Consider stopping by river front patio of hotel bar for a drink and enjoy views.

Staff is beyond accommodating and the rooms and view are stunning. Some of the sheets were ripped but other than that the place was perfect. Worth the price for a fantastic getaway.

The hotel is beautiful, with very attentive and helpful staff. Their banquet room was gorgeous and well-decorated. Art was prominently displayed for Art Prize, which was a very enjoyable experience - to not only see the art, but to watch everyone else enjoy it.

Stay here all the time. Great staff and best place to stay in Grand Rapids

Was playing Pokemon outside, smoking a cigarette. Me and a group of friends defeated and defended the gym outside for many hours.

Staff, service, and food was wonderful. We were on the second floor, although I don't know the room number.

Was here for the Michigan Cyber Security conference. My first time in the hotel and it was absolutely beautiful. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, the place was extremely clean and designed very well. Definitely be coming here again, if I need to stay in a hotel again.

Great location in Grand Rapids with a great view. The room service is spot on food and service wise. I loved the shampoos and soaps they smell great. The only downside is that it is very expensive to stay here.

Stayed in a corner room on 21st floor facing the river. It was clean and nice with great views . The staffs were nice. Hotel had pretty nice amenities and nice common spaces and lounges.
