I stayed on Christmas Eve. I had a wonderful time. I had packed a small Christmas tree and forgotten batteries. Our bartender Chris saved Christmas by getting me batteries so that I could wake up to a light Christmas tree. I will definitely stay again! Chris for sure made our night. He was friendly, funny and helpful.

Stayed here two nights for our anniversary. We took advantage of the different package deals they had available which I highly recommend, it's a nice added perk to have the concierge sweets included along with food vouchers and valet parking. The staff was extremely helpful and even retrieved a bag from my car I forgot and brought it up to my room. River view rooms are amazing. The cost is high but you definitely get what you pay for.

I love Marriott's so this isn't a hard review. Classy, friendly staff, good workout room and clean. I enjoyed how you can walk through tunnels to get to more popular places. It was cold when I went so I appreciated it.

I love staying at the JW in Grand Rapids! The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is great. My only complaint is that it is loud. With the open lobby it's hard to get a quiet night's sleep.

Explored the JW while looking at Art Prize, the local art festival, it is a very beautiful place that you must check out. It has some great works of art currently and the staff is also friendly even for those of us just exploring Art Prize

It s really hard to say anything bad about the JW in Grand Rapids. Hands down the best hotel in the area and on the West side of Michigan. Everything about the hotel is top notch! From the smells when you walk in the front door to the craftsmanship and cleanliness of the rooms. The staff is always quick to accommodate requests and ensure you re having the best stay you can.

UPDATE: We recently spent the night at the JW for a birthday celebration. The rooms are very nice and the view is outstanding. A word of caution, if you want quiet on a Friday night, get room on the city view side. There is a live band that plays and the sound travels up along the balconies inside all the way to the top. It was OK for us, because we didn't go to bed until after 11, but if you want to get to sleep before then, you may want a room on the other side.

We had in room dining on both Friday night and Saturday morning. While the food was very good, they messed up the orders both times. That said, I contacted customer service and they went over and above to make it right.

616 Sunday brunch is awesome. The food is top notch. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I have had better service and they had a hard time keeping up with some of the foods, you could tell which one were the favorites.

Went to the GR JW Marriott for a work banquet and needed a room to pump (I am breastfeeding). Unlike most hotels or banquet halls, the staff at the JW were very accommodating and provided me with a comfortable chair in a private room to pump. I even had an amazing view of the city at the same time and was provided with relaxing music at the spa. I have never received this level of support as a nursing mother-most places tell you that all they have available is the bathroom, and most of the time there isn't even an outlet available! I don't like the idea of making my lunch in a bathroom, so naturally I don't feel comfortable pumping in a public restroom! I could not be more impressed with the level of courtesy and service when I was not even a paying guest at their hotel.

I had a corner room at the Marriott on the 18th floor. Although somewhat awkwardly designed, the room had a fantastic view. The bathrooms were also very nice, with premium accoutrements. My wife had room service at dinner, which I was told was tasty. Overall, a great stay.

Was there for a john Robert powers event (found out it was a scam, luckily didn't pay for it) the place was a mess and people were rude who worked at the hotel. Only people who were kind were the valets

My wife and I had a really nice stay at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids. The staff was super helpful and friendly, the room was modern and comfortable. The food at the Six one Six restaurant was great and reasonably priced. Starbucks and convenience shop were really nice to have and they had everything we needed. Had a great stay and we will be staying again!

One of the nicest hotels in Grand Rapids. Ambiance is perfect, staff is so friendly, and overall amenities are lovely.
Sad that they got rid of Six One Six (was one of the best restaurants in GR)... not fond of the new "Margaux".
Definitely a great place to stay for travel, celebration, or a "staycation". Pricey - but to be expected for the chain.
