Enjoyed visiting JW Marriott Essex House during US Open 2018
Though I was only there briefly to film an interview with a celebrity, I must say the staff were highly professional and courteous. I look forward to staying there in the immediate future.
Magic hotel. The JW Essex falls into the category of being a special place. Located on the short side of rectangular Central Park provides many rooms with a magnificent view of the park and city. Their staff took great care personalizing our arrival and getting us quickly situated in our room. The hotel is itself an Art Deco work of art. I found the elevator doors in the lobby were beautifully transformative. Friends of ours arrived at 7:30 this morning with a plan to drop off their bags while housekeeping did the work of preparing rooms. What a pleasant surprise that they allowed them an early checkin making their visit much more comfortable. Finally, our room included a huge picture window with the most amazing view (see attached). Thank you JW!
Great place to stay. Especially if you have a gold card to get into the executive lounge.
Beautifully charming hotel with attentive staff and wonderful views of Central Park.
Initial room was not acceptable given that we paid for an upgraded room facing the park. However second room wad much nicer.
Love the latest renovation. Second time staying here
Great location with espectacular views to Central Park.
It is a hotel with rather high prices, good rooms but there is a great lack of soundproofing. Which being a city like New York is very much needed. The treatment of good staff when you are a guest, but when checking out is another thing, for example: just 30 minutes after having checked out staying in the lobby and request an emergency bathroom, and to be denied leave much be desired. I do not recommend it.
The position is the maximum, the rest needs to be improved.
Gorgeous hotel right on Central Park. Well located as it is on the south end. The rooms are really big compared to other hotels I normally stay in while in NYC. Nice Aromatherapy amenities too. I didn't use any other facilities at the hotel, but enjoyed the room and the service.
I did not have a view from my room, so that was the only disappointment.
It was a very good hotel during the JAL period, but after the change of the operation, it was only a pity that the lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. Park view is impossible if guest room does not rise category considerably either.
Love the location (across from Central Park). Rooms with view of CP are great but others are actually quieter. Excellent service all around. Very comfortable beds. Regular rooms are smallish but fine for a couple. Gold/Platinum members enjoy the excellent breakfast options in the concierge room by the elevators. Love staying here when in NYC!
Phenomenal service: Raphael, their concierge, consistently went above and beyond to make sure our trip to NYC was the best possible experience.
Very nice reception area, the waiter and every else where were good an efficient at getting the rooms ready for each part of the event.
Horrible check in experience. Took them 3 tries and over 2 hours to get a feather free room
Very sophisticated and beautiful hotel. The rooms are kept to a very high standard and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location would definitely recommend!
Beautiful historic hotel. Professional pampering at its finest.
I loved the room service, everything was great and the staff were very helpfull and nice
Loved it. Front desk staff were somewhat arrogant during the night once but only happened once. Excellent stay!
Great place to stay. Room on an inner courtyard on the 10th floor (the building has 40 floors) was really quiet and nice to come home to after an entire day out in the city.
Everything about the experience was as top notch as it gets. The location is right on Central Park and a short walk to Times Square and all of midtown Manhattan. It doesn't get much better than this!
Room was great. Beautiful location. My only complaints are that we booked a room with two beds and they didn't have the room available when we got there so my sister's had to sleep on a sofa bed. Also the "free" WiFi is difficult to figure out.
One of the best concierge clubs for Marriott. Staff is super attentive and food outstanding. Must stay hotel in NYC
Good service rooms were very nice and concierge was courteous
It is a wonderful hotel perfect for all kinds of social events the food is excellent and the personal attention is not left behind the sound the atmosphere is excellent as well the view is very nice I would definitely go back to that hotel
Lovely place. The reception check-in process was great with truly nice staff (so far from my expectation of a swanky NYC hotel). No pretensions, just courtesy and efficiency. The room, a typical king guest room, was tidy, and spacious for a small room because of a simple design layout. The bed was comfortable - maybe a little stiff a mattress (I m a firm bed sleeper) and a tremendous excess of pillows ! . The location is absolutely OUTSTANDING with such convenient walking distance proximity to Central Park, 5th ave, time square, shopping etc.
Great being back in NYC. Great view of Central park. Rooms were big and bathrooms were very nice!
Happy 40th birthday to me. I checked in to the JW Marriott Essex house for the PRNDL, LLC founders birthday. Even after 1 million Marriott points, this place is amazing. I'd like to thank management, the front desk, the bar, the restaurant, the valet (especially the referral of Benjamin) the suburban driver (screw uber) follow your concierge and valet. Best hotel ever, great rims, great park views and great hospitality. Special thanks to denisha for great room service. Five stars a nyc dream destination
All very good, but the waiter lacked the desire to work!
He leaves me waiting without saying hello for more than 10 minutes, still making a signal with his hand that I intend to order something!
Otherwise all great !
Much nicer than the Ritz down the street. Upgrade to a room with a view of Central Park. You'll be glad you did.
Was a nice experience. Well decorated, full of ambience. A bit expensive for the room though.
Remodeled rooms. Great service and wonderful location
Very nice stay. Was initially in a newly renovated room, which was very nice, but the construction noise from a neighboring floor was very loud. Wouldn't be an issue if here for business as construction is limited to 8-5. Moved to a higher, older room and we thought it was just fine. New TV, fantastic view of Central Park and bed was good.
I was here for a professional alumni event the staff was courteous and helpful.
The JW MarriottEsdex house is one of my favorite Marriott properties. Located at the southern end of Central Park, it has great access to many attractions that most visitors come to see. Highly recommended.
Next to Central Park,
Very nice place to stay!
Pushing open the window is the view of the current!
I want to thank the JW Marriot Essex House for giving the most memorable birthday of my life. You treated me like family upon arrival as well as like royalty by your staff. I will never forget my stay at your hotel...You are truly a five star hotel.
Thank you,
Michelle Evans
Love staying here every time. The new gym is quite nice!!
A high class hotel. Staff are welcoming and helpful. I also met the front desk manager who was very curteous. The hotel's interiors are a bit outdated that could use renovation. Location is quite central and view can be great if overlooking the central park.
Visiting from Philly for the night and this was our main stop after dinner. Couldn't have had a better experience!
Excellent location by park, friendly staff, great members lounge
Fantastic location across the road from Central Park. Not for the budget traveler.
Decent place but it is starting to show age. The bathtub needs to be tuned up, paint is tired.
Ok front desk help was awful and not someone I would want working for me.
