This hospital emergency room for adult have the worse service. The male nurse be watch porn on the computers and suppose to be getting my information . I was waiting in the ER for 12 hours. When I did get to see the Doctor she had the nerve to asked me, what was my imbecile reason for being hear today? This hospital I would suggest to never go to if your sick, injured or about to die. When I was discharged they forgot to take the IV needle out my arm. They don't care about you. They only care about $$$ and how much they getting. You better off some where else than here. Smh

Johns Hopkins...."Thank you so much". I can honestly say this is by far the BEST HOSPITAL I have ever been to. So very organized. I received emails from them with instructions on what I needed to do and not to do before the surgery date, along with directions on how to get there, parking, and where to go once I got there. The hospital receptionist was kind and very helpful as well.
Yesterday, 9-11-19 I had surgery on my heart. Dr. Calkins and a bunch of other nursing staff were able to do things I never thought were possible. I was given clear instructions on what was goin on every step of the way. I was asked if I had any questions. Surgery went well. Recovery went good and I was able to go home.
"This hospital has got it together." Very organized and friendly. The surgeons, doctors, nurses, are very knowledgeable and definitely top-of -the- notch!! You are in safe hands here. I would give them a 10 instead of a 5. Thank you again Johns Hopkins for your great service.

I went to John Hopkins hospital emergency room .I ...

I went to John Hopkins hospital emergency room .I saw two nurses and a medical assistant. I have a serious inguinal hernia which can and become life threatening. The inguinal hernia makes your abdomen hurt tissues and is hurting my genitals pushing down and it's hard to urinate because the inguinal hernia can cause hurting the gallbladder and my urethra throbbing when I urinate not all the urine is coming out .The urethra hurts throbbing. Inguinal hernias are life threatening hurting the intestines . I came in with a long term autoimmune illness bullae pemphigoid which the nurse never heard of and also oral lesions which the nurse never heard of. I never heard of a hospital that has no doctors in the emergency room. They were rude to me .I waited 12 hours with even lumber fractures and just t2 is a new fracture of osteoporosis. I'm 62 yrs old . I called in the morning the office where the secretary said come and we will take good care of you she said when I called dr anhalts office. I cannot come down. I came over 500 miles from the suburbs of Boston on the fast train to penn station in Baltimore Maryland. Maybe which I watched live videos in the emergency room with good doctors. I went in a room with a nurse assistant for some paper work which in the videos of around 2007 thier were doctors great in the emergency room talking about they don't know what is going to come through the doors but thier always ready .I talked to other people and my family that I went supposedly to the top 3 hospitals in the country and thier were no doctors in the emergency room and when I got home I tried to call the case workers and talked to a couple of people that work thier .I asked them why are thier no doctors in the emergency room when I was waiting over 12 hours .I called a hospital nearby where I live in suburbs of Boston and told them that John Hopkins hospital has no doctors in the emergency room. All hospitals have doctors in the emergency room 24 hours around the clock. That was a big let down. I said to myself John Hopkins hospital is not the hospital it used to be. They have residential doctors on the campus. The nurse was so uncaring.

I don't know how these people get any stars. They say they will forward test results to a University studying my problem, but they don't. Call, leave a message, machine says they will call me back within 2 days, they don't, tried that 4 times so far. Those tests were piss-in-the-pants painful and took all day. I don't want to do that again. I've been trying to get something for a month. Is this health care?

My mother recently visited the Emergency departmen...

My mother recently visited the Emergency department to be evaluated for headaches. Some work up was done and she went home, having been there for several hours. That night she received a call to go back to ED for a procedure that needs to be done to rule out a serious brain bleed as the CT report was suspicious. The next day she arrived at 10 am and was kept waiting in the waiting room in freezing air conditioning until 9 pm. She was only given a bed at that time having waited for 11 hours. The resident who evaluated her said that the procedure she was supposed to get was now not necessary as the full CT report was now normal. She then has to wait unti 1 am to be discharged as the attending physician had to evaluate her and discharge her. She came home around 1:30 am and now is sick with a cold and can t talk due to laryngitis, having been kept over 15 hours in freezing cold. She left with no additional treatment. All the while the nurses and staff were rude and uncaring. This is all the more upsetting because my father had surgery and was discharged the same day and had to be home alone while all this was going on. I am beyond upset. I am upset that in a hospital setting a patient is getting sicker waiting for care. The hospital does not care that a patient is kept waiting while they are only concerned about covering their own behind. I understand there are sicker patients who take priority but why call her in the first place. I am all too familiar with this setting and know that there are more efficient ways of triaging patients if only the management could be better. This system is just not good and it is third rate in my opinion. I would think twice before going to Johns Hopkins hospital.

My 14yo daughter recently had to under go surgery at Hopkins. I hate to name any staff or dept as it would make one seem better than the other. TOP NOTCH staff and facility!!! From the pre-op staff, to surgical staff, to recovery nurse, to the nurses on 9N, to cleaning staff, to the repair man that came in to replace the soap dispenser. EVERYONE was kind, smiling, upbeat, yet sympathetic to my daughters needs and discomfort. We spent four days there, I NEVER saw a dissatisfied face, heard a disparaging comment. These folks love their job, ( and are darn good at it) or are the worlds best actors.

I work in Baltimore, I know the area, yes there are questionable neighborhoods around Hopkins, I NEVER was concerned for my families safety on the campus. If you are coming here for the first time, don't worry about what you see coming in, these folks can not be beat. I know now why Hopkins is consistently rated #1 or close to it.

Thank you to the entire Hopkins staff and organization!!!! You are and always will be number one to my family!!

Waiting in the ER Rn playing on their cell phones ...

Waiting in the ER Rn playing on their cell phones talking to other people just socializing. No customer services skills my first experience at the hospital do not recommend. If there too busy get pads (playing on there phone) had an attitude when ask if they had extra small adult diapers which she reply,No there to big for her I told her I get her pads in underwear. If that's not good enough for her then you can go CVS down the street..
Mind blown like she wanted one someone to argue with her. Try to get her name. No name tag or badge.

I am sure JH will continue to be one of the best hospitals in our minds and there will be folks who will get the help they need. But there will be people who will be disappointed financially as well as in their treatment or lack there of. But isn't that the case with ANY hospital in the U.S.? So why does JH play God??? I went there with lots of hope! I have been let down by JH so I will go to the non-famous ones and see if someone new might pay more attention to simple treatments?? Or even give a damn :|?
One of the doctors I saw there seemed so Juvenile in her behavior, let alone she was sweating while seeing me as if she was anxious or distracted due to something?

What a shame - I wasted my time, energy, gas, and my bills were sent to "I don't know where?" but I only received collections letter where I am seeing the amount charged for the first time. WHY?

My son was sent here from another hospital as they wore concerned about internal bleeding. As He had been stabbed twice. He arrived at 5pm, as per the other hospital he was supposed to get a scan to rule out internal bleeding. It wasn't until midnight that the surgeon said (with out checking my son nor doing anything) that it was ok for him to get stitches. It is now 2am and my son wounds are still open, the Doctor that was supposed to put stitches in left as and I quote "SHE HAS OTHER MORE IMPORTANT PATIENTS TO TAKE CARE OF. My son has have a total of 4 shots of lidocaine in the past 5 hours. Am really upset to say the least.

Hi, I'm from the Dominican Republic. I just want you to help an 8 boy who has gangrene on his head and is fighting for his life. In this country Dominican Republic health care is not very good, do not take pity on a child who wants to live. I have pictures of him, they are very strong for sensitive people. Please help him we will give him one more chance to live with God's help and then yours.

We been here for 2 days and all the Staff members are very friendly and explaining everything to us my daughter born was 25 weeks and I'm so happy they ways the takes care of my wife and my daughter.
I'm not sure way people saying bad things about these hospital. We come from VA and we happy with all the doctors and nurses.

We had some great and sore experiences at John Hop...

We had some great and sore experiences at John Hopkins children urology center. Went in for a very stressful 7-8 hour appointment with my 3 month old kid. My and I were both really stressed and we both knew this a invasive and painful test for our LO. Front desk staff were great and doctors were excellent. But one of the nurses who were allowed to us (seems trainee) was very aggressive and had low level skills. Christine tried to do an IV line on my LO and failed miserably, the other nurse did that in 2 seconds. Well, not a problem, benefit of doubt, it s a tough task to get an IV in a kid. Next, introduction of a catheter.. couldn t do it, tried 10 times almost on a crying child. The doctor came in and did it in 2 sec. now the connection came loose and it was very clear she used the wrong connection to tap the urine from the foleys. You don t have to a health care professional to see those connections won t fit. Christine , the nurse who knows it all, pushed and pushed the catheter till my kid screamed in agony and we begged her to stop. Told her that is not the right connection, oh no her reply was- sir, this is all we have here . A hospital which receives millions of dollars grant every year from the feds have one catheter attachment in the whole hospital. And we have to believe that. At that point I am thinking of taking my kid off the table and driving him home. Now the real nurse came in and I told her the issue we are having. Well, magically they have 3 different attachments for the catheter and she figured it out in 2 seconds.
I understand that this is a teaching hospital and all want to learn, but do it with a smile. We are private patients with a good amount of out of pocket expense attracted to every procedure we go thru. You don t have to be rude. No need of false ego. No one is judging your skills.
By the way, the radiologist (Michaela) who did the test was amazing, finally we walked out with 3 stars, all of it belong to her and those fine doctors in urology department.

This hospital SUCKS. I just came from the ER. They made us wait in the waiting room with IV bags. Some guys was there for 6 hours and still had not seen the doctor. My husband is a resident there so he want to wait until the CT results come out. I however took out my iv and left.I was in so much pain and just wanted to lie down. The nurse were not even checking up on us. This is unacceptable for a world renounce hospital.

So disappointing.

So disappointing.
Rude person at the emergency room check in desk, yells at people young and old. A little old lady was so very sick and needed a kidney dish and the woman behind the counter yelled at her to step back before she even was able to tell her what was wrong.
They pass out dirty sheets to keep you warm in the freezing cold waiting room, it's just nothing like I would've expected out of a supposed top rated hospital.
No one comes and gives you an approximate time after sitting for 6 hours. We travel all over the world, and I've never seen such poor unprofessional service in an ER.

The most disgusting disgraceful emergency room experience ever! I m beyond embarrassed of this city my parents grew up in. This is sad. This emergency room is dangerous, unorganized, dirty. Been here for 6 hours and counting. I already lost my mother here due to infection from getting surgery here. Regretting bringing my wife here right now. This is more like a holding cell in a prison, third world country. Never again

I thought they were fantastic!! I had a major surgery there and spent three days as well as multiple trips before hand to be diagnosed. They were caring and prompt with everything I asked for. I would def. recommend them in the future. I was seen in neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and endocrinology. I found them all to be knowledgeable. They always made time to answer all my questions.

Gastroenterology Department, many complaints. To make it short, I was asked to be in a study at no cost to me, went to check in for the study, lost a work and they asked for insurance information, I asked why since it was a study they said "just in case I needed something extra". Nothing to worry about". Had an EGD done, 2 weeks later I get a bill collector calling me at 8:00pm asking for $1900.00. Called to try to straighten out the issue, but the reception insisted on talking over me. Poor treatment in the hospital, staff not trained properly, woke me up from anesthesia while being wheeled back because they "closed at 5 pm". No wheelchair out. ???

With no exaggeration, I can truly say...,thus far ,JH Hospital has got " to have the kindest, most informative and helpful employees, from the valet attendant, to the front desk, the echo center tech's to the care I received even being wheeled back to my car, (thank you so much Mrs Margo, ) The empathy I'v received was from staff,.. Drs. Wow,heres the issue! it's there way or,...way." after 7hr drive for the 6th time.. no questions answered, walked out on myself and husband, after Having us drive 7 hrs, with the idea it needed to be done quickly, even if your in the hole, because you have been to sick to work, and all you want is 'Help.. . To get a Dr (Dr. Resar) who claimed, you'll be meeting surgeons and talking of what we can do.. then, Dr. Conte" the big "kahunna" walked in ,called out Dr. Resar, came back in, said your not needing further care, our responce ..shocked, ,we both were, literally, no answers no referrals & here I went several times ( they received there payment from my insurance, and not Medicaid,) hoping for a new lease on life, and the knowledge of this large but beautiful facility,it seems, I was lucky enough to what.. become more ill, sad but true, but at least was seen ,not here, but at another hospital. would say, No".. this hospital has great tech's , nurses, and customer service.. but was blown off By the Drs. ..BTW, I did need surgery and they ignored any questions and made a assumption of my health ..on what, I taught for yrs. I was educated, did all I could, on my own.. I know my body, and after dealing with heart conditions most of my life,(but if you are, as myself almost 50, look younger, dont appear sick enough, I have liver issues as well and all I was told was, you should not sunbathe so much, I'm irish, freckles, but darker skin, couldn't possibly be another reason.. I haven't sunbathed in yrs by the way") I knew eventually ,repairs would be needed, is it right, to allow a human to have irreversible damage because of ??? Thank you to all at the " Zayered Tower" for whom were so kind. But I wouldn't recommend this place unless your that particular Drs. Patient . For if not, you may find yourself with labeling, and no Dr. At all, not Until either worsening or death. Do your research and question anything you feel uncomfortable with. Also, That's what they get paid for.. not a 2 min. Consult where your Insurance pays outrageous prices ,you pay a huge copay, and walk out, in my case ,wheeled and crutched out.. with the feeling of helplessness, and the arrogance of that Dr. Who not knowing a thing of you, has the audacity to make judgement call based on ,no history... is all here bad, I'm sure not, but again, be sure who your seeing, do they have your history, know what test you had or need and are they overwhelmed with to many patients to give you that attention or thinking of the next patient waiting, rush, rush, rush, For Time" is money, and the Hippocratic Oath," Do no Harm ' ..may had been lost to them, along time ago.. sorry for the length of this., but I dont want another patient to go thru, what I'v experienced' Thankyou, and good luck, hope you know who your seeing, & always get a 2nd opinion, " it may save Your Life"

We have been in the emergency waiting room for 6 hours. Still waiting for the cleaning crew to clean a room so we can meet with the staff to discuss the lab results. The hospital needs to hire more people to clean or hire people who can work at a faster pace. Very frustrating. On the positive side the nurses in the emergency room are very nice and professional.
